Please help me to identify if joining ASTA - American Society of
Travel Agents will be beneficial to me.One of the benefits ASTA offers link from their site with logo.
How I can identify if this link is authorative?

I was hesitant to even mention Pagerank; it is beneficial to you if the website is relevant to your niche. Are you (your website) in the 'business of selling travel'? If so, then it doesn't matter what the DA and PR are of that site, it's a smart business move.

Regardless of the authority, there is no reason that you should not join. It is relevant to your business, and therefore is always a good idea.
I know the pagerank toolbar is not a true indicator of authority, for the most part, however, the site you have listed is a PR7.

Subdomain with higher domain authority vs. ccTLD with lower domain authority
Our website is active in many countries and we are considering if it is worth it to switch from ccTLD to subdomains.The reason is that our company.com domain has a domain authority of 65 and some of the ccTLD's like company.fr and company.de etc have a domain authority of 30. From what I have read, moving these to a subdomain structure like fr.company.com and de.company.com will give them all the same domain authority (of 65 vs 30) which is considerably higher. 1. Would a subdomain with domain authority 65 rank better than a ccTLD with authority 30 (considering all else is the same)? 2. When we 301 redirect all ccTLD's to the subdomains, will our domain authority increase (to more than 65) for company.com, given that it can benefit from all redirected links to our ccTLD's? Is this link opportunity worth pursuing? (Gated page)
Hi, While looking for link opportunities for my client in the shoe business, I came across a page of a running club's website that hosts discounts for members of the running club. To actually view the content of the page you must be logged in. When not logged in all you can see is the sign-up page and a message asking you to log in. Would this link be at all useful in terms of SEO or would crawlers not be able to view the page content as well? Thanks!

Links from highly relevant but low Domain Authority sites: Yes or No?
We're reaching out to companies that we have a business relationship with (past and present) to find out if they would be interested in linking to us.

Most companies don't have any text in their profile for example: http://www.business-baltics.com/baltmar-trade-ou-503456 All content is paid (if they don't pay they don't get a chance to introduce themselves) ... how would you improve the rankings of companies like that? By the way I cannot change that, it is the company policy. Should we make a chance for people to "vote" for a company that google would have the stars next to all companies. Would that help to get more visits from Google? How should we rank better in Yandex and Baidu? (Baidu sent 1 visitor in last month). And yes we have the chinese language... Yandex is improving but we are not getting the results we want. Thank you for all your tips.

Build links to home page or internal to rank internal pages?
I understand that naturally people link to the home page and internal pages - probably the home page more often than not. In order to build a natural looking link profile I also understand that I need a variety of anchor text, brand and url links. Should I be building links mainly to the home page with only a few to internal pages? Ultimately I want my internal pages to rank for specific terms so in my head it makes sense to concentrate my link building effort to internal pages but that would seem unnatural to google I'm sure. For arguments sake if I only built links to the home page with a mix of the anchor texts described above would these internal pages rank eventually anyway as 'link juice' flows throughout the site? Or is it an absolute must to build some links to internal pages. Could a page rank for a keyword without having any links to the site with the keyword anchor text (simply url links) based on the page title/content? Also what is a good ratio of home page to internal links? I would assume around 10:1? A lot of questions I know but I'm confused as to what will be the best strategy.

Minimum desired for Domain Authority and Page Authority
I see messages and threads talking about the less importance on PageRank and more importance on Domain Authority and Page Authority. As I work on our link building, do I steer away from low DA and PA websites? If so, whats the minimum threshold I should stay away from? If I see a site that has a Domain Authority as low as 9 - is that the minimum? What is? What do you think?
