Has anyone used Micrositez? Or can recommend them?
-
Hi all,
After using SEOmoz for a while (and I have learnt alot - it's a fantastic resource) I think it's about time our website is given the nudge by a professional, who unlike me isn't learning the ropes and trying to compete with the big boys!
So easy question, has anyone used/can vouch for http://www.micrositezdigital.co.uk/
I've been in contact with them alot recently and spent hours on the phone. 1 side of me is impressed, the other is scared to death of the monthly price.
Any help would be appreciated with this, It would nice to know how good they are especially in regards to their bespoke campaigns.
Thanks,
Allan

They've rebranded to Swish Digital now, here is a recent thread discussing a site currently being worked on by them https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/keep-or-fire-the-seo-company-please-help-asap.2654110/

Allan,
I also used Opensiteexplorer.org to look at your back links. They are all from directories, it would help to diversify your link structure to include high domain blogs and post on forums related to your industry, DJ equipment.

Hi Allan,
There are many SEO company's (employees and owners) who post on these forums ( I'm not one of these people). A few of them to me are very impressive with their knowledge. Have you considered looking at these users, then if you feel they are compatible with your needs looking at their profile and visiting their site?
This way you know whom you are dealing with and can judge their knowledge well before they even give you a price.
Just a thought, hope it helps

Allan,
My short answer is no.
They outsource their clients keywords to text brokers and bloggers, and use alot of back linking to sites with low domain scores, for the main part, as well as linking on international domains.
SEO isn't always easy, fun, and exciting, but as long as you want to learn how to do it, you can achieve first page. I promise with hard work, you can save a lot of money and see results.
Their client www.xoticdreamcars.com who are chasing the keyword "exotic car rental" as advertised on their site isnt on the TOP 5 on google ranking.
I do understand it's a very highly competitive keyword :
| <a class="aw-ti-resultsPanel-details">exotic car rental</a> | High | 201,000 | 135,000 (from Google's keyword tool) |
However, in my opinion it's best if you learned how to SEO for your niche market. Like you have said SEOmoz is a great resource and it's time you take a crack at it.
I'll give you a few tips too.
There's a starter guide for SEO on here, I don't have a direct link for it so please look it up.
Get Google Chrome Browser and get the SEOmoz toolbar plugin, it checks homepage Domain Authorities and Page Authorities. In my opinion, your best bet is find sites in your relevant area and back link from their site to yours.
Another tip, see those sites that micrositez use for their Google results? Good. Now open up http://www.opensiteexplorer.org
and type in those sites they list, and check their inbound links and anchor texts. You will see where they link to, the domain scores, and what kind of links they give to their customers.
Now ask yourself, is this something I want to do?
SEOmoz as well as the internet also offer FREE advice how to fix your homepage.. ie..H1 tags, no duplicate content, proper title pages, no 404s, original content(the most important factor)
So please, save yourself that money and enjoy happy hour somewhere.

Do you get penalized in search results when you use a heading tag, but it's not technically a heading (used for emphasis)?
Do you get penalized in search results when you use a heading tag, but it's not technically a heading? My clients are using heading tags for text they want to emphasize and make stand out. Does this affect search rankings for SEO?

Who uses WordPress Tags anymore?
Just curious if people are still using WordPress Tags. I wonder if with the direction Google is going the last couple years, having sites that get bloated with extraneous Tag archives just decreases the quality of the site.

Can You Use More Then One Google Local Rich Snippet on a single site/ on a single page.
I am currently working on a website for a business that has multiple office locations. As I am trying to target all four locations I was wondering if it is okay to have more then one Local Rich Snippet on a single page. (For example they list all four locations and addresses within their footer and I was wondering if I could make these local rich snippets). What about having more then one on a single website. For example if a company has multiple offices located in several different cities and have set up individual contact pages for these cities, can each page have it's own Local Rich Snippet? Will Google look at these multiple "local rich snippets" as spaming or will they recognize the multiple locations and count it towards their local seo?

Can I 301 Re-Direct within the same site?
I have a magento site and would like to do a 301 redirect from page A to page B. Page B was created after Page A but contains the same products. I want page A to be replaced in the search engines with page B while carrying the link juice from page A. Is this possible? Am I better off just blocking page A through the robots .txt file? Thanks

Why does everyone use bitly?
Why do people use bitly? I thought it was just a way to share a link on twitter if the link was too long in url. I see SeoMoz shares all their content with a bitly link. Even when they share it on Google+. Why?

Is using splash pages considered cloaking?
For example I'm thinking of running people through a squeeze page when they come from search engines (for first time visitors only/cookied) ... example: http://www.whitehouse.gov/ Is it going to hurt SEO? Because basically you are serving a page that is different, than the one displayed in the SERP's.

What Google uses in search result descriptions
Recently, Google has started including certain information from our web pages in their search results description that is a bit puzzling. For example if you google 'Wedding Band Raleigh' the description they are using for our site's (GigMasters) page begins with the text 'Results 1 - 10 of 1005' Not sure why they are pulling that information. That is in on the page but its not high up on the page or marked with any special h1, h2, or h3 tag. We do have that information inside of a div which we have named 'Results'. Maybe that's why? Did we inadvertently use some sort of Google rich snippet or schema.org naming convention?! Any insight would be hugely appreciated.
