Wrong duplicated page content
-
I found out that some errors on my website are considered as "duplicated page content" while they are not, the content is different on each page.
I wonder why ?
Is it an issue from Seomoz ?

You can ask your question in our private Q&A section. The questions are not indexed, and are not visible to anyone but SEOmoz staff and Associates, and we're under NDA to not reveal the contents of the questions.

I'm sorry I can't give you the link to this website because it's one of my customer's.
Thank you for your answer Keri, it's been helpful, I'll try to fix the issue.

When Roger crawls, he looks for similarity in code as well as the content a user sees. If you have an ecommerce site that sells apples and oranges, but only has two sentences describing each, and 95% of the code between the two pages is the same, Roger's going to say those pages look alike to him, even if they look different to a user.
-
Can you provide a link to your site?
-
Maybe I did not explain well enough.
What I mean't is that Seomoz considers certain pages as identical but they're not the same at all when I explore the link. The content is completely different like apples and oranges.

You might have a duplicate content issue. You will want to check if you have the proper 301 redirect and a canonical command in the head of your code. If you don't have this set properly then the search engines will see the www and non-www versions of your site as duplicate. Also remember that the search engines also by default place this at the end of the url /
Here are two links that can help if this is the issue.

Duplicate Content for Default Document Domains
I've noticed recently that within the Moz Crawl Report I keep seeing duplicate content for one of our pages that pulls from a default document. The pages are product pages, one ending in releases/ and the other ending in releases/index and are both identical pages. Normally in these situations I would prefer to make sure that every link is being sent to the releases/ page, however according to Moz, the releases/index page is actually ranking better and has a higher internal link count. Can someone advise me on the best way to deal with this situation? Hopefully I've explained myself well enough! Thanks Sam

False Pro reporting of duplicate titles
I am testing Pro. About 250 pages of content at my website. Pro says ALL of my pages have duplicate titles., but when I click on details, they display as unique titles. Ie: first page of results of Pro is as follows. While the content of my website is on one major topic the title meta tags are NOT identical. Is this an issue with Pro, or is Pro looking at something other than the title meta tags? Please advise ? One page per campaign?
Not quite sure if I read correctly, but is it correct that one campaign tracks only one page of my site? So if I wanted to track something like a services page, this would require a second campaign?

Solving duplicate content errors for what is effectively the same page.
Hello,
Moz Pro | | jcarter
I am trying out your SEOMOZ and I quite like it. I've managed to remove most of the errors on my site however I'm not sure how to get round this last one. If you look at my errors you will see most of them revolve around things like this: http://www.containerpadlocks.co.uk/categories/32/dead-locks
http://www.containerpadlocks.co.uk/categories/32/dead-locks?PageSize=9999 These are essentially the same pages because the category for Dead Locks does not contain enough products to view over more than one resulting in the fact that when I say 'View all products' on my webpage, the results are the same. This functionality works with categories with more than the 20 per page limit. My question is, should I be either: Removing the link to 'show all products' (which adds the PageSize query string value) if no more products will be shown. Or putting a no-index meta tag on the page? Or some other action entirely? Looking forward to your reply and you showing how effective Pro is. Many Thanks,
James Carter0
