Rel=author rel=me
-
I am an e-commerce website with a blog, creating content on my website but also guest posting for others. I also have a Google + page.
Do i need to do the rel=author rel=me? does it benefit me?
I am confused on how it works, can someone outline the basics please? i gather i put rel=me in the page that is about me and author on the blog posts i do/gues posts?
Any help much appreciated.

Hi there, thanks for that. How do i connect my individual profile to the company profile on google+?
-
Here is what you will need to do:
a) setup a g+ profile for your individual account
b) Connect that across to your company g+ profile
c) on the individual g+ profile, update the contributor to section to redirect to your blog's root domain
d) From the individual posts, rel=me to the g+ profile URL

I am sorry i just am so confused. Ok i have no author page, i have a blog section and a google + profile. WHat do i do simply?
I noticed on my Google+ page for the business page i do not have a ;contributor' section. Meaning an individual has to do this?
-
Author page is not a necessity. You can use rel=me from individual blog posts as well. Rel=me will connect with your g+ profile.
You are already doing a rel=me to the root domain by using the 'Contributor To' section of your g+. It works behind the scenes.
Now, you need to claim the content by using rel=me at the individual blog post level or at the level of an author page that will in turn get connected with the rel=author tag.
It sounds confusing, but it isn't actually.
Thanks,

So you have to have an author page for this to work, i cannot make rel=me go to just the root blog directory?
-
Here is what you need to do:
a) Create a g+ profile
b) in the 'contributor to' section, link out to the blog for which you write.
c) on the blog post, add a rel=me tag and point back to the g+ profile or, setup an author page on the blog. From the author page, use a rel=me tag and link back to your g+ profile. If you were to setup an author page, each post on your blog will need to link to the author page using rel=author tag.
Cheers,
Rajesh Dhawan

Rel=publisher
I've had the rel=publisher set up correctly for months now and verified it using the Google rich snippet tool. For some reason when I search my site/brand the Google+ profile will not show? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to have it show up? Thanks!

How many google+ authors is too many?
I've worked with a few sites with multiple google+ authors. rel=author works well and have no complaints. If you have a site with user generated content, would Google ever accept rel=author for every user we have a Google+ account for? Is 100 too many? 1000? 10,000? Anyone with big sites out there care to share your experience? Thanks!

How do I build author rank on Google+ ?
I have a website for one of my businesses at www.trustworthycare.com that we've been building upon for many years. On that site we have a lot of content and we publish at least two blog articles each week with solid content that is relevant to members of the market that the business wants to attract as customers. I have a second website for a new business at www.ageassistance.com that is in the same market but which operates in a different manner. That second business is very new. It also publishes two articles per week. Both sites name me as the author and I have created a Google+ page for myself. The sites identify me as the author for google+ author purposes. Both businesses also have google+ pages. The weekly articles are being pushed out to the respective Google+ business pages as well as to my own Google+ page. I think I've got all the basics established for us to take advantage of google+ for SEO purposes, then. Is that correct? If so, what do we do next? What matters? Getting others to +1 my posts? On which Google+ page, mine or the businesses? Getting others to share my posts? If so, is it better to get them shared from my personal page, or from the businesses' pages? Thanks!

What if an employee leaves and removes Rel=Author verification from their Google Plus profile?
What if someone leaves your company and removes your site from their Google Plus profile (under "Contributor To"). Does that kill all the rel=author on the pages written by this former employee? (Should you use the email verification with employees to avoid this scenario? Email verification is a big hassle for us.)

Is it wise for employees to be tied to a company's content with rel=author?
We're an e-commerce company that sells consumer goods. We are launching a blog that will have advice, tips, etc. on topics related to our industry. I'd like for us to implement rel=author on the content. If we rel=author the content to an employee, what are the possible repercussions if that employee leaves the company? I know the markup is pretty new and hasn't been widely implemented, but has anyone dealt with this?

Can you set up a Google 'author' for rich snippets using a G+ business page or does it have to be a personal profile?
I've set up an author profile for myself, but if I'm writing articles for clients, I don't necessarily want to do it in my own name. Is it possible to set up a Google author profile using a G+ business page? Obviously the idea is to try and gain the rich snippets that only recognised authors receive, but to do so in the name of my client.

If I move my blog from subdomain to root, will my blog lose all of its authority? Social signals?
Moving my blog from blog.site.co.uk to site.co.uk/blog and just wondered if all the social data for each post will be lost including the blog authority which has been built up over time? Is 301 redirects enough to keep any of it?
