Whats more beneficial - Google+1 on your website or Your Google+ Page
-
Hi
From an SEO perspective what is the most beneficial getting +1 of your homepage or trying to get customers to click on your actual Google+ Page - or are they linked in some way? As the importance that Google are/will place on this cannot be ignored
My concerns regarding Google+ are that I believe in the UK at least, most active consumers are not on Google+ (not sure what its like in the USA) many may not even have a google account, especially of their email is with the likes of hotmail or aol.
The people who are using Google+ are other companies, web pros, marketing pros etc and not your target audience in many cases

Agreed the +1 button is better for your website. I am still not sure how to make a company +1 page. I have tried but it only sees my personal page. Honestly I do not like Google + I feel like we are being forced to use it because it "may" help our websites.
Facebook is much easier to use in my opinion however, that is probably because I am used to Facebook I spend a lot of time on there.

The google+ image that you click to +1 something is a recommendation of your website not your Google+ account. So having that +1 image to click is better in my eyes.
Your +1 profile you handle like a facebook account. Sharing stories, posting links etc...
Image its facebook. You want your LIKE button on your website for people to Like and also maybe a link in footers for direct links to your profile.
So in other words have both, but make the +1 image or Like buttons more visible for people to click and recommend the page they are placed on.

What percentage of people will Like/Share something on Facebook vs. Liking/Sharing from a website?
I asked this on Quora and am curious what the Moz community has to offer: http://www.quora.com/What-percentage-of-people-will-Like-Share-something-on-Facebook-vs-Liking-Sharing-from-a-website If I have a blog post that I share on Facebook and I receive 1,000 Likes and/or Shares, what's the percentage of those Likes/Shares that will come from people interacting with the post in their Facebook news feed vs. people Liking/Sharing the article on my blog? I realize many factors are at play here (type of content, audience, time of day, blog design, etc.) but have there been any studies that attempted to address this question?

Can Google index content from within Facebook apps? (photos, events, custom app, etc.)
Hi guys, I've Googled the heck out of this query and I seem to run into very top level answers (and I do apologize if my ignorance is to blame), but is Google able to index content from within Facebook applications such as Photos, Events, and possibly a custom app? If Google is able to better index both Javascript and AJAX, I would assume that the simple answer would be "yes", but since many of these applications don't provide outbound links, tracking traffic and conducting follow up experiments appears to be quite difficult. Since many of us use Facebook as a destination, if we take the time to optimize deeper content by adding detailed captions in pictures or unique descriptions for events, how can we determine that 1. the content is being crawled by search engines and 2. how is that content crawled and disseminated for user consumption on search engines? I appreciate your time and thank you for your insights.

Purchasing a Google Plus Profile
A client of mine has the opportunity to purchase a google plus profile from a now defunct competitor. Essentially the profile is in tens of thousands of circles, so it may be a decent idea just from a marketing standpoint. When it comes to SEO I am wondering about a few things Is this against Googles rules? Has there been any proof of authorship playing a role in SERP rankings? So if there was an article where the author was in 50 circles compared to the same article where the author was in 50,000 circles would it effect the rankings at all? Have there been any studies done that show that the +1 (from Google Plus users) effects SERP rankings? Sorry for all the questions, but this is an interesting opportunity. Thanks in advance!

Google+ SERP
I just wanted to know if you have a Google+ page, should your page be displayed on the right hand side of the SERP when someone searches for your company name. We currently have set-up a Google+ page but it doesn't appear when someone searches for us. Any help?

How do website owners gain from facebook scams like this?
I've noticed two things that are going wild on Facebook this week: http://timhortonsgiveaway.me/ and http://promoforipads.net/ In the first scenario, you supposedly just click share and they'll send you a $25 Tim Horton's gift card. (For those who don't know Tim's it is a very popular coffee shop in Canada). There's no way this is happening...they claim to have something like 5000 cards to give away. In the second one they're apparently giving away 1000 ipods. Yeah...OK. So, they're obviously scams that are just trying to get a few zillion facebook shares. But why?

SEO & Social | More SEO effect by liking the page URL rather than the Facebook Page?
SEOMoz Gurus, I am wondering what our best implementation strategy shoul dbe around linking up the Facebook Like button on our pages. Essentially there are two options: A) Linking the button directly to the Facebook Page of the web site so every Like is actually converting into a Facebook "Fan" which can be messaged going forward through our Facebook page. B) Having them like the actual URL which might be more beneficial from an SEO and viral perspective as now a link to the actual URL gets shared on the Liker's facebook wall and it should also be easier to use that lIke for Google & Co. as it's tied to the actual URL not a random Facebook page given that search engines already convert those signals. Both approaches obviously have their benefits. Are there any common guidelines on what is a better approach to take from a pure SEO perspective? Thanks /Thomas
