What is the Title Tag length for mobile pages optimized for the iPhone?

What is the optimal Title Tag length when optimizing a mobile version of your site for the iPhone?
-
For Google Results
Page Title: 45 Characters visible, 65 Characters appearance on search results page
Meta Description: 100 Characters visible on search results page
-
Just by looking at a site with a long title tag I can see 45.
I can see the same 65 in search engine results.
-
That depends a lot on what you're trying to achieve with those titles. Are you looking for maximum exposure of the title to the user? Then I'd suggest ~45 characters (which is the maximum number of characters visible in the Safari browser, my personal favorite 'Atomic' shows only 10 characters in the tabbed interface). If you're trying to have the page ranked in the iPhone version of Google, I'd advice the regularly advised title tag length of no more than 65 characters as Google appears to have the same cut-off on mobile and desktop browsers. Or perhaps there is another goal you're trying to achieve?

In Google Webmaster Tools, I have a coverage issue. I am getting this error message: Alternate page with proper canonical tag Status: Excluded. It gives the below blog post page as an example. At one time, I was using handl utm grabber, but the plugin is deactivated on my website. https://www.savacations.com/turrialba-costa-ricas-garden-city/?utm_source=deleted&utm_medium=deleted&utm_term=deleted&utm_content=deleted&utm_campaign=deleted&gclid=deleted5.

Adding hreflang tags - better on each page, or the site map?
Hello, I am wondering if there seems to be a preference for adding hreflang tags (from this article). My client just changed their site from gTLDs to ccTLDs, and a few sites have taken a pretty big traffic hit. One issue is definitely the amount of redirects to the page, but I am also going to work with the developer to add hreflang tags. My question is - is it better to add them to the header of each page, or the site map, or both, or something else? Any other thoughts are appreciated. Our Australia site, which was at least findable using Australia Google before this relaunch, is not showing up, even when you search the company name directly. Thanks!Lauryn

Duplicate keyphrases in page titles = penalty?
Hello Mozzers - just looking at a website which has duplicate keyphrases in its page titles... So you have [keyphrase 1] | [exact match Keyphrase 1] Now I happen to know this particular site has suffered a dramatic fall in traffic - the SEO agency working on the site had advised the client to duplicate keyphrases. Hard to believe, huh! What I'm wondering is whether this extensive exact match keyphrase duplication might've been enough to attract a penalty? Your thoughts would be welcome.

Should I Allow Blog Tag Pages to be Indexed?
I have a wordpress blog with settings currently set so that Google does not index tag pages. Is this a best practice that avoids duplicate content or am I hurting the site by taking eligible pages out of the index?
