Vibrant Facebook Community around a Business, how to ask for links?
-
Hello,
Helping a friend out with their site: Black Mountain Colorado Dude Ranch. It is an awesome dude ranch (working ranch that has cabins for rent so you can get that 'western experience' without buying a ranch. Yes there are cattle drives). They have a great ~1000k a picture facebook page https://www.facebook.com/blackmtnranch that is fantastic, but I'm completely at a loss on how to get help with our ranking terms from this (as most don't have blogs, websites or any knowledge of what linking is outside facebook).
Ideas?
tl;dr Asking for links from people without sites is confusing to them, but is there any tips to getting help from them?

Just some quick ideas for you
Firstly i cant get to your facebook etc pages from site - i can only like etc .
Leverages your audience- i would do something for links with a strong blog or site who wants to get infront of that big social audience of yours.
Have them create content for you to put on your site that might attract attention and links.
Have them Share and spread the love links will follow

So are you / they looking for help from the ground up Andrew?
As for getting links, it starts with a great service / content and finding others who are willing to link back for whatever reason.
I wrote and article on LinkBuilding as a guide, so perhaps take a quick peek there?

First idea was to take the content on the Horse Quotes page and add sharing under each image.

Google+, Link from My Site to Author's Google+ Page or to Company Google+
Recently I verified authorship for my Website. So the image from my personal Google+ account appears in search results. My website has a Google+ social media button. Should the link point to my corporate Google+ account or to my personal Google+ account? What is more credible from Google's point of view? What are best practices for this issue? Look forward to hearing from the MOZ community. THANKS!!!

Facebook Like Button vs Like Box
We want to add the Facebook Like and Google Plus One functionality to our website but had a question. Is it better for SEO and usability to use a global Facebook Like Button for people to Like the home page of our website or a Facebook Like Box to Like our Facebook page from our website? I know that we can specify the URL in the Like Button but I wanted to get some feedback. Thanks!

Tool like Followerwonk for Facebook?
Hi For Twitter using Followerwonk you can gauge the influence on what a person/brand is using a tool like Follwerwonk helping you find the most influential twitter users based on a number of metrics. But is there a similar tool for Facebook which shows which brands/companies Facebook sites have the most influence. Or is the best way to gauge this is just on their number of likes? which is not really accurate

Is Twitter Stealing Our Link Juice?
Something recently clicked in my mind when looking at the way our web developers were linking to our twitter accounts:. They were linking like this: A) https://twitter.com/#!/aczarto Instead of like this: B) https://twitter.com/aczarto
Social Media | | Czarto
(Due to a copy/paste from the address bar). Technically (A) is a link to the homepage of twitter and NOT to the individual twitter account as in **(B) **(The hash tag isn't technically part of the url, and traditionally Google has ignored everything after the hashtag) For me, this raises a few thoughts/comments: Make sure your web team is linking in (B) format and not just copy pasting the url when they visit your company's twitter page. I don't think twitter is doing this on purpose - but if they are - it is EVIL GENIUS! They are stealing lots of links heading into a user's account page and instead sending that link juice to their home page. Does Google-bot follow hash tags? ie: When Google hits the link (A), does it crawl twitter.com/ or does it crawl twitter.com/#!/aczarto? Is this a tactic that can be leveraged by others to try and direct links to other pages? ie: MyWebStore.com/money-page/#show-link-bait that generates shares that actually produce links to the site's money page instead of the intended link-bait. Could this be possibly considered cloaking? Looking forward to people's thoughts...3 -
Twitter and Facebook Back-link Aquisition procedure?
This is another novice question that I hope is easy to answer for someone out there. How do you get a backlink from twitter or facebook? Either Open Site Explorer is not recognizing my accounts or twitter and facebook are not reporting it for some reason. I have looked at other competitors and they have twitter and facebook that show up as linking to them. Do you have to do something special to get a link? Utah Tiger
