When backlinks are too many?
-
I just started to create backlinks to my target site but many SEO expert say to me "don't go too far!".
So, where is the limit after that i could be penalized?
-
I would try and find other sources for building links.
By all means use General directories to help keep your Link Profile balanced, but don't focus primarily on them.
It is also better if your content is good enough to "attract" links naturally...
-
Well, you can Sergio, but you will get nothing back from them.
Have a look at this list of directories SEOmoz has published and try to find something that is related to what you do.
It's all about keeping it on track.
-
Ok but can i submit to general directories?
-
By good quality, I refer to anything that has a vested interest in your industry. This can be both new and old sites alike, and, for example, a website design site and a social media website could link to an SEO site and still be seen as being within your niche.
-
Its my understanding that you shouldn't purely seek out high Quality links only... As this too can look "Un-Natural"
Mixing it up can also include some of the lower quality links where appropriate, directories which are related to your location or subject for example...
-
You're welcome, but be careful with directories as they will do very little, unless they are industry specific ones.
Try and target sites within your niche where possible for a chance to get the best links back again.

For now is a very basic activity. I'm submitting the site to various sites directories (4/5 submissions a day)
Thanks for the quick response

There is no limit or threshold. Just be careful not to build too many too fast and make sure the referring sites are good quality. Diversity with anchor text is important, as is a range of landing pages - don't send them all to the homepage.

Domain authority vs. anchor text in backlinks
Hi - I launched a new blog ~3 months ago and I've managed to get some backlinks from Yahoo, Cnet, Huffington Post, Gimodo, etc. I created some compelling and unique content. However, all of the anchor text of all of the links is mywebsite.com or mywebsite. None of them are the actual keywords I want such as "this website is great for keyword blah and keyword blah" My question is....could I get more "juice" from these links if they had more specific anchor text or is their high domain authority enough as far as google is concerned?

Backlink question
Hi all. Here's the scenario. There is a company who provide financial services to their online clients. On ALL their clients sites they have a "payments-by-us" style logo with backlink to their homepage domain name. This means they have over 3,000 links from a multitude of non-related websites - with just 3 or 4 anchor text keywords in these backlinks. No surprise they have been hit by Penguin My questions What it the best practice for these type of linking LOGO's. Should they link to a dedicated page, and NOT the homepage? Should they have branded + anchor text, no text, or just branded? or a combination of each Should they even be a link at all as they are coming from such a diverse group of sites? I understand how Penguin penalises for overuse of money word keywords as anchor text. This is something that has definitely happened here (by the bucket load) ... Assume the anchor text is "Green Chips Finance" and that phrase is also overused and a bit "stuffy" in their homepage. Here's my question - could simply lowering the prominence / significance of "Green Chips Finance" on the actual home page, help in reducing the impact of the damage caused by the thousands of backlinks with "Green Chips Finance" as the anchor text? I say this as they have a similar number of back links saying "Red Chips Finance", but there is no mention of "Red Chips Finance" on their homepage other than in the keywords and a couple of standard text mentions (no H1, H2, alt text etc) ... interestingly, "Red Chips Finance" (not the real words) is Google No1 whereas "Green Chips Finance" has been demoted from longtime No1 to about 4. Cheers

Ways to remove spammy backlinks
Hello everyone, I got hit with an algorithm penalty and need to start removing old backlinks ASAP. Does anyone have any good resources on how best to ask webmasters for removal? Are there any other ways to remove bad back links besides the disavow tool? (An SEO consultant I talked to said that they had a proprietary software that can remove them - is that possible?) Thanks all,

Bing and Google Showing Different Backlinks In WMT
I'm trying to get my head around this one as I have been diligently building good quality backlinks to my website over the past 8 weeks. I'm particularly proud of the several PR7s and PR8s I got through credible service reviews, however I notice some of these links show up in Google and others in Bing WMT - but not both!! Clearly I would like credit from both SE for all the links I have achieved. Is it just a waiting game for one to catch up with the other (Bing is ahead on the higher PRs)? Is there a way to submit the list of backlinks to the SEs so I can get the credit from both? Any insight would be appreciated...

Backlink from different niche
Hi, i have a question. For example, we have a website domain.IT / italy. in italian language. But, we are contracted to do link building, to down it in italy, its not easy for us, but we have down 70% from backlinks from english websites, and 30% from italy websites in italian language. Is this any danger from google, to hire any penalty, or it's not danger but only pass link juice less! btw, i see lot of brands in italy, they have mroe than 70% of backlinks from non-italian websites. the backlinks from english websites, are editorial, press release, blogposts, best of the web directory, etc.. from maybe mroe than 80% of backlinks are frmo strong english domains. danger, or not? tell me your answer if have experience on this please. thanks
