Having pages in the footer
-
Hello,
I have a website , and some keywords that im targeting i want to create separate pages for, so i can have good quality content on there, but at the same time i dont really want to have those pages in my header menu, its just for the Search Engines to see the quality page, with a keywords im targeting.
So can i just have those pages in my footer menu? whats your opinion on this ?
Thanks

i do have quality content on that page and some videos, for my other previous pages i created, my bounce rate 42.30%, i want to create as user friendly website as possible so less important pages i want to have in the footer, but its nowhere close to doorway pages

I completely understand this, i do refer to this pages in my content on my main page, they just less important for readers, .
Thanks for help

I'll agree with Kade and add something. Think about user experience and bounce rate. Let's say you achieve the ranking for the desired keyphrase and you have a title and description compelling enough for the user to click through, if the user goes back to the Google search results page too quickly that indicates to Google that it may not be relevant of poor quality. So while you target those keywords, you should be genuine about it. If you're referring to doorway pages, avoid them. One of Brazil's largest travel sites got their rankings hammered for doorway pages not long back.

My opinion is, why are you building a web page for a search engine? The search engine is never going to convert into a sale for you. Focus on making your site for humans. Humans convert, search engines don't.
However, with all that said, I understand that you have to create a page the search engine will refer humans to you with. If you are creating pages for search engines to see, create a sitemap so the search engines will find them and crawl them, but create content that is worth my time as a user to read.

Are High Domain Authority, Low Page Authority Links Good?
I recently created a scholarship with the hopes of getting .edu backlinks (as well as helping students in need, of course). So far, I have received 8 followed backlinks from very authoritative .edu sites (70+ domain authorities). The pages that link back to me are the "outside scholarships" pages. I've seen these pages range from having a page authority of 10 to 50+. For example, I just reached out to Johnson & Wales for a link on their outside scholarships page: http://www.jwu.edu/scholarships-from-outside-agencies/ You can see this page has a PA of 1 and a DA of 73. I'm wondering if Google will see the low page authority and not give me much valuable juice (if any). Are these types of links worth it?

What happens to (external) linkjuice after you redirect a page?
Hope everybody is having a good day:). I was wondering what happens to the external link juice of a page when you redirect it to a new (and improved) url? For instance www.example.com/lowvolumesword/highvolumeword/ 301 --> www.example.com/highvolumeword/ Will the /highvolumeword/ page lose a lot of (external) linkjuice? Is it best to change the external links to the new url manually or leave them as is and let the 301 redirect take care of it? Is it possible to say that no more than x% of your linkjuice will be passed through via a 301? I hope im making sense here and am looking forward to your reaction. Thanks in advance,

Another Footer Links question
I have reposted this as a new question as I posted in an old 'Answered' question but not had a reply. Footer links We have generated new business from links that we have on client sites linking back to us. The new client will call/email us saying "we see you did example.com website, which we like, would you mind quoting for a redesign our website". Without that link we may never have got that new piece of business. We always ask the client if we can place on link on their website and they all say ok. We don't do this for purely for SEO. The only thing we have done previously is to include the link in the footer of every page on the client site, which we are now in the process of changing to being only the client home page. With that in mind, is the following ok to do? Place text/image link in footer of client home page Link to be "nofollow" which goes to specific page on our own website e.g. oursite.com/portfolio/clientname.php on oursite.com/portfolio/clientname.php page we link back to client's home page, again this would be a "nofollow"

Are links from every page of a partners website to my website bad for seo?
I have asked a partner website to link to my website in the Menu Bar. Which has resulted in a link to my website from every page of the partners website (Over 1000 Pages). The link is not a "nofollow" link, it is a regular link. Can this have any negative effects in terms of SEO?

Page Rank Update
I was hit by Google’s latest Page Rank update. I know “don’t be obsessed with Page Rank”, but it concerns me. I thought that I was developing a very good link profile and actually was hopeful that it would go to a PR-5 and it dropped to a PR-3. www.simply-bags.com I have another site www.keepsakes-etc.com and have done very little link building and it also dropped to a PR-3. Can anyone give me some honest feedback about my concern?

"Links" page Value?
I was wondering, Is there any value in these days to advice clients to create LINK US or LINKS page with bunch of reciprocal links on it and solely for link exchange, I remember reading somewhere that, it is little useless in terms for ranking nowadays? Am I right? Thanks!

Link Bait - Directory Style Resources Page
Hello Mozzers! Basically I want to add a beefed up "resources" page (directory style) to my site to attract in bound links. Below is an example of a site that has a similar directory style resources area. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters.html I was thinking that it might be good to add a resource box in my site footer with links to these resource pages such as: 1) Dog breeder resources
Link Building | | k9byron
2) Dog training resource
3) Dog shelters/kennels
4) Pet health resources
5) Pet care resources And funnel links to my category pages from there .. I was looking for some feedback or any tips or the best way to go about doing this and if anyone knew of a SE friendly script or something that that I might be able to integrate with my site (x-cart / PHP) platform that would make it easy to populate / update, ect Below is a paste of how one person I talked to envisions it: I'd suggest building some pages of value, such as dog resources pages (rescue groups & resources, etc.), adoption resources, etc. I'd guarantee if the resources were very comprehensive and built correctly, you'd get more bang for the buck versus throwing hundreds (or even thousands) away on sub-par links. Case:
http://www.tnj.com/black-history-makers/major-inventions-african-americans (a simple test content page to show this client we could build lifetime links with a few hours of work for a decent-sized resource page) Although very ugly, this is more of a gold mine for links taking the example above:
http://www.enchantedlearning.com/inventors/black.shtml This is just one simple example but I hope you get the concept versus ongoing payments for junk links. The more links you get to internal pages - even the resource guide pages - the more opportunity to link back to core product pages contextually or within the content portion of the page of side columns. The goal is to create funneled links from these resource pages back to your other pages, but doing it in a manner that's not outlandish or spammy in nature.0
