7 Pack Google Serps?
-
What is the best way to get into the 7 pack of google serps? I have a site that ranked well before this changed but not was pushed back to page 2.
I have Unique content and I currently have provided my info to all the standard local sites, like Yelp, Manta, Local.com and others.
I already have a Google Local page and I also have links from local sites.
What else can be done?

Hi Joel,
Hopefully, the stuff we discussed via PM and your other thread about your company will have helped you to understand some of the reasons you are being ranked on Page 2. Beyond that, one of the best places to learn about this subject is David Mihm's annual Local Search Ranking Report. This report surveys some of the top Local SEOs in the world. Here is the 2012 edition:

Also, I recommend you become a regular reader of the following 3 blogs:

In addition to this, I have recently published two comprehensive blog posts that received quite a bit of industry acclaim, covering both the psychological mindset and tactical approach to Local SEO. Here are these posts:

I hope you will find these resources to be truly helpful!

Dear Joel,
This is definitely a good start for your SEO campaign however putting it in local sites which you've mentioned is not enough to rank higher than your competitors. Most probably you moved back to page 2 because your competitors are improving their links profile. You need to focus on getting some quality links, for ex:
- Links from Catalogs/Business Directories
Pros: Free, Strong positive influence on ranking, which may have some reputable directories.
Cons: Take time to submit, Some directories have ban from Google) - _Comments in blogs _
Pros: Free to submit.
Cons: Take time to submit, Links can be nofollow or noindex - Social networks
Pros: Free to submit, Ability to get relevant traffic, Helps to increase page indexation time
Cons: Take time to submit - Social Bookmarks Pros: Helps to increase page indexation time, free to submitCons: Low quality of links, big time spends
- News and PR **Pros: Make a big positive impact on rankings, ability to get several links from one pageCons: **Usually it cost money
- Bulletin board Pros: Free submit of external link**Cons: **Low quality of links, some of them baned by Google
- Sponsorship Pros: Ability to get high quality linksCons: Risk the link will not be permanent, cost money
- Forum links Pros: Free to submit, ability to get targeted traffic**Cons: **Post may not pass moderation, post may be closed from indexation
- FAQ services
**Pros: Free to submit, ability to get targeted trafficCons: **Take time to submit, post may be closed from indexation
Of course this is not only the places where you can get some links and improve your rankings, if you will go through SEOmoz blog I am sure you will find some other ways for ex. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/8-things-you-can-give-away-to-earn-links-mentions-whiteboard-friday
Looking forwards to see you in Google's top,
Cheers,
Russel

Not showing in Google map listing. Why?
We have a client who's law firm is the highest google reviewed, on page two or three of St. Louis personal injury lawyer, but does not show in the map listing. Any ideas why this would happen or how to ensure they are viewable in the map listing?

Missing Keywords in Google SERP
We just got this attached image from one of our partners - has anyone seen Google putting 'missing' keywords in SERPs like this before? They said that it was not a plugin or anything and this is a screenshot of their organic search results. google%20screenshot_zpsgmwaf9e2.png

How to show your ratings in the Google SERP
I've noticed that some organic search results are showing ratings just above the meta tag. How are these sites doing this? Example: If you search "cash advance", there is a result between #4 and #6 in the organic results. The site is "goldcashadvance.com". It's showing a 5-star rating in the result.

Major SERP Fluctuation
I'm working on iDeal Chooser, a Comparison Shopping site and we've been having a weird problem with some of our major keywords on Google for the past couple of months. We keep moving between the first page of the results to disappearing completely. For example a Google search for "price drop alerts" returns idealchooser.com as result 3-5 for a while and suddenly doesn't return us at all, then we are back to the top results only to disappear again later. We can't figure out what causes it, we didn't see any pattern and it seems completely random. We can be the 4th result for 2 weeks and suddenly we are gone for another 2 weeks. SEOmoz PRO had some good SEO suggestions which we implemented, however nothing that could explain this and even after fixing these issues this weird behavior continues. Any idea will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Rich Snippets stopped showing up in SERPS
Up until a few weeks ago my testimonial review ratings (5 star rating system) were showing up in search results but they no longer do. Went to the google rich snippet testing tool and they still do there just not on the real search results. Any thoughts on why? Perhaps an algorithm change?

Changing Googles Sitelinks
Hi all, I know Google will only show sitelinks if the site is deemed authoritive and if it will help the user searching a keyword, but is there anyway to order or control which links appear in the sitelinks? I know you can demote a sitelink in Webmasters, but is this not shooting yourself in the foot? If I demote a link will Google replace it with the next link it thinks is worthwhile and be doing this eventually show the links you want to appear in your sitelinks? Thanx Gary

Google SERP UI in December
For retailers (or commercial queries), it seems like PPC ads, product ads and google shopping links were allocated more pixel real estate in December than in previous years, and the amount of pixel real estate allocated to organic listings declined further. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on when these changes were rolled out.
