Can anything be done for a single brand page on a corporate site?
-
I was asked by a friend if there was anyway I could help promote the watch brand that they are responsible for. The brand has only one page on the corporate site.
http://gevrilgroup.com/fortis-watches/
My first reaction is that this is impossible to do without creating a stand alone web site and then doing some super cool marketing to get your brand noticed out of the sea of watch manufacturers. My second gut reaction is to stand clear of this request and not get myself tangled in something that will require a lot of resources for someone on a low budget. Any suggestions?

A display ad targeting that landing page might be useful if you are targeting people to learn about the brand outside direct searches.

I see this page is already ranking for Fortis Watches in Top 10 in Google. I see the opportunity to optimize the page title a bit as well as working on increasing the overall authority of the domain name.
Looks like they have a brand page for a lot of watch brands, and I would suggest working on the overall domain authority that is going to improve the rankings for each one of them as well as improving page title etc. I see there's opportunity for sure.

Do review sites like consumer affairs negatively affect SERPs?
Hey all, So when googling the name of our site we see consumer affairs pop up around 5th with a 1 star rating. These negative reviews are mostly spammy (competitors, etc.) since we have an awesome support team that deals with all unhappy members very effectively. We reached out to CA and they came back asking for $10k+ (highway robbery) to "help us improve our rating." My question is: do poor ratings on review sites like these negatively affect your SERPs? And if so, how can we work to combat their effect? Thanks in advance, Roman

Country sites - TLD's or sub directories?
Dear All, We have several brands which operate a several languages and currently have a set up like this: www.[BRAND].com/ = English global www.[BRAND].com/de = German www.[BRAND].com/fr = French … Each subdirectory is a completely different site so I was wondering would it be better to use TLD’s for each country site in order to hold more equity in the search engine if we used: www.[BRAND].com/ = English global www.[BRAND].de = German www.[BRAND].fr = French Are country top level domains the way to go? If we wanted to change language within a country site should we use the following? www.[BRAND].be = Belgium English www.[BRAND].be/nl-NL/ = Belgium Dutch If you could let me know what to do I would be most grateful. How hard is it for a national brand to win for Superlative qualified non-brand keywords?
Is it worth trying to target non-brand keywords with qualifiers like: best, top, good? Naturally review or comparison sites are built to target these keywords/searches, but can big brands compete in this landscape? Does anyone have any good examples?

Will new site have any effect on main site ?
Hi, We have a successful ecommerce site at www.printerbase.co.uk but we are now branching out and will soon be offering services which we are going to do through a different website with a possible URL of something like www.printerbasesolutions.co.uk so my question is, will having two websites containing the word printerbase have any negative effect on the ranking of www.printerbase.co.uk or would we be better having a completely different URL? The new site is not going to have any ecommerce functionality it is going to be more about offering the services we can give to clients and encouraging them to get in contact with us. Thanks BigJoe

How to get Google to link external review sites in Google Places
Hi, I have several company profiles in Google Places and Google Sites, I also have the same profiles for those companies in review sites like Yelp! and so on. I have seen that other sites have links on the bottom where Google points to those external review sites, but that doesn't happen for me yet, is there a way to tell Google that I have profiles on other review sites so they can link them or is it Google whenever they find them that will link them? Here's an example: http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=14126341780178539960&hl=en At the bottom you'll see that it says: Reviews from around the web Now this is one of mine: http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=12168877126282825032&hl=en Now how do I get that line at the bottom provided that I know there are reviews out there in other sites? Is there something I can do? Or is it all about Google doing it whenever they see fit? Thank you!

On the "new" YouTube" layout how can I select the correct Facebook page to connect to when my Facebook account has multiple business pages attached to it?
On the "new" YouTube" layout how can I select the correct Facebook page to connect to when my Facebook account has multiple business pages attached to it? My Facebook account has three business pages and the "base" user profile. I am trying to connect one of the business pages to a YouTube channel but each time I attempt to do this YouTube selects the "base" user profile and I cannot determine how to switch it to the correct business page. I attempted to connect while signed in "as the page" but it would not allow that. Thanks for any help!

What are the best ways to improve/trigger "Brand Signals"?
Google considers some companies "brands" or stronger "brands" than other sites. What are the best ways to show Google you are an actual brand, not a fly by night eCom?
