Time On Site and SEO?

Does time on site impact rankings?
If a person visits your site from the serps or directly visits it by typing in your name in the search field and then leaves within a minute, will that impact your serps?
What is the best way to increase time on site?
-
_However, it makes sense to try to increase average time users spent on website. If a user spends more time on a page that simply means that the visitor is finding the page interesting. Catchy headlines, well written content, use of high quality images, videos etc can go a long way to make visitors spend a few more seconds on the page. On the other hand, if you make the body content appear meaningless by stuffing too many keywords, add cheesy stock images or boring images, add thin content and make the page heavy with loads of images, visitors will bounce back for certain. Hope that helps. _

"What is the best way to increase time on site?"
Attempts to improve "time on site" and "pages viewed" are closely associated with the keyword that delivered the visitor.
In general, improving content. This is not only writing quality but also the visual impact of landing on a page. Nice, big, relevant, juicy images (or video) above the fold grab attention and can hold the visitor.
Getting the second (and subsequent) page views depends upon giving the visitor options to additional content pages. Go to this page on CNN and study it.....

Look at how they have big video at top.... then several related topic videos immediately below it... the right column generally presents lots of enticing topics that could be "news pulse", "most popular", CNN on FaceBook, "recommended stories" and more.
If you don't want the visitor to bounce then provide sticky content and sticky options.

From what I understand it most certainly does. The SE use it to correlate the Search Users experience with your site. Bouncing back to the SERPS is an indictor that they may not have found the website trustworthy, or that the pages returned to them via the SERPS wasn't really relevant to their search query.
The best way to increase time on site is to provide quality content that engages the vistor.

Does blogger.com stink for SEO purposes?
Three different SEO guys suggest moving my blog to another platform. " I think migrating to a more robust CMS platform like Drupal or Wordpress would be a wise decision." But, they never say why moving would benefit SEO. My blog is on a custom domain, has lots of original content and has decent organic traffic to begin with. I think I have other SEO issues to deal with before bothering with a new platform. Does blogger stink for SEO? Why?

Prismic.io CMS and SEO?
Looking for community feedback: Some of our In house developers want to use Prismic.io over Wordpress for it's alleged ease of organizing and "deploying" content. It's essentially a repository for content from which you make API calls to. It's a rather new platform. There a few posts in Quora around SEO but looking to see if anyone has had experience with platform. My concern is around page load times, excessive server requests, and content viewed as code. Any thoughts/ experiences would be much appreciated!

How important is w3c validation for mobile sites???
So mobile sites are all the rave, but how many are doing it correctly and with all the different options which is correct or the best? For example I have a guy telling me that the mobile site must validate here http://validator.w3.org/mobile/ or here http://ready.mobi/launch.jsp?locale=en_EN However I have run many so called mobile sites like nike (m.nike.com) and those built by dudamobiles and all dramatically fail the above tests! Responsive is another key element of web design and the guys at twitter came up with bootstrap, so I ran these sites through the above validators and all have failed. I take this site as an example from ilovebootstrap.com, please note this is not my site but was top of thelist on here. Mobi Ready 2 / 5 - result poor mobile experience Results from google pagespeed Mobile 62 / 100 Desktop 83 / 100 So while it looks good on mobile devices it does not score well If you look at the google site: http://www.howtogomo.com/en-gb/d/why-get-mo/ The case studies listed all fail the validation tests, so my question is is it worth getting our mobile sites validated and will this affect rankings?
