Hi Chiaryn:
I thought this would be a really helpful platform however it is more frustrating than not. Â I am not able to add competitors in my campaign. Â I am able to change the 3 that appear in the campaign but NOT able to add a competitor.

Thanks Miranda for the answer!
Nice to know you guys are active around here!

Hi Angelos,
Thanks for writing in. Unfortunately, at this time, we are only able to track competitors at the subdomain level within the campaigns and we can't limit it to just the specific subfolder or page. I'm really sorry about that!
If your competitor only has one page that is relevant to your business, you may still be able to get valuable information by adding the subdomain, since we will only report on the URL from their site that is ranking for your specific keywords.
I would recommend adding a request for the ability to limit which pages of the competitor subdomain we track to our feature request forum. Here's the feature request forum we use to collect ideas: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests
You can add your request there and vote for other features you'd like to see, both of which help our product team in deciding what to build next.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The problem is not that the link is new ( which is not ) it tells me that i cannot add links with /path.
The only problem is that the link i have as a competitor is www.competitorslink.com/magazine
nothing else.

What's the exact problem you're facing? Sometimes competing pages may cause problems if that page is relatively new. Plug the URL into http://www.opensiteexplorer.org and see if that page's stats have been indexed by SEOmoz yet. If you get some stats and still can't add your competing page, then I suggest you open a help ticket with the moz team

Traffic Data for Competitor Subdomain
Does anyone know of a way to get monthly visitor data for a subdomain that I do not manage? I would normally use SEMRush or Compete, but they only provide domain level data.

Can deceptive ads help sites to rank? Pogosticking effect involved...
Hello,
Competitive Research | | fablau
I have a question for you. I have noticed that many music sites that appear in the first top results for keywords our users search for, include all the same ads that deceive people by inviting them to "Download"Â or get the "Full Album" of what people may be search for. Look at the following websites that are often displayed at the first spots for keywords like "Christmas Sheet Music" (just an example): [....] They all have, most of the times, the same ads. Look at the following screenshots taken from the sites above (the ads are at the top of the page): http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/storage/google/Shot1.jpg
http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/storage/google/Shot2.jpg Those deceptive ads could engage users more than legitimate websites not showing those ads or not showing ads at all, making Google think that people are more engaged on those website showing those deceptive ads. If it is quality that Google is looking for, shouldn't they do something to avoid having sites ranking well just because of some deceptive ads that take users into action, but without any useful result? I am eager to know your ideas on this issue. Thanks! Fab.0 -
Competitors SERP's
One of our competitors is routinely achieving excellent SERP for brand related keywords within only a couple of months of adding the respective brand to their website. Full details are explained in the attached image to avoid the competitor being notified of this post via Google Alerts. Can anyone identify how they are achieving this and point me in the right direction? The other thing is that I was also achieving good SERPs for these and other brand related keywords but I seem to have dropped off the face of google for them, where my competitor has not and who continues to achieve the seemingly impossible. Thanks TOfVHD8

Competitor reporting
We are in the process of creating customer profiles, conducting in-depth keyword/competitor research, fleshing out a content strategy, addressing old content, meta data etc, and researching sites (particular industry news sites) relevant to our industry who could be sources of authoritative backlinks. Once we receive approval from the powers that be, we'll start putting our strategy in motion. However, we are looking at SEO efforts as a long-term plan the entire organization understands is necessary. If our strategy is sound, I would think we'll start seeing results and some competitors will begin to take notice (and action.) So here is my question: How easy is it for a competitor to "report" a small/medium size business as breaking Google's rules i.e. could a competitor claim we are scraping their content (or content off of any site for that matter) and anonymously email Google? I think the answer to that question is "yes." How closely would Google look into the claim? We have zero plans on doing anything shady or underhanded but I was wondering if it is a simple process for a competitor to impact our efforts this way? Thanks for any insight.

Manta inbound link in OSE - competitor site yes, my site no, why?
Our site has had a link back to our site from Manta for a long time, but it's not appearing in our OSE results. Â One of our competitors similarly has an inbound link from Manta and that link DOES appear in their OSE results. I'm not certain whether that matters for us. Â Does it? But in any event, why would the one link appear but not the other? Thanks! Tim

Spying On Competitors Links
Hi There, I am looking for a tool that will allow me to learn about the new links our competitors get each month. Do you know a tool that lets you know each time your competitor has a new link?
