SEO Moz analysing US site when I want it to analyse UK site
-
Hi there, I am trying to analyse the UK version of my website. However as the website is set to redirect people to the most relevant site and SEO Moz is based in the US, it is redirecting all the pages your crawling and therefore analysing US pages. So I am trying to look at the UK homepage but all the factors relate to the US site... Is there a way around this?? Thanks

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately at this time we do not have a way to have Roger crawl at a specific IP, since Roger uses a dynamic set of IP to crawl sites to get the most unbiased results. Creating a sub folder campaign at this moment is the only way to get an effective crawl for that site, unfortunately from this point on this is a web development question, which is something better left to the experts in our forum. I left this post as an on-going discussion to other to chime in, you could also use your private question to ask our associates
In the mean time, I would also recommend you go to our feature request forum to request this feature, once you finish it, others can vote this feature which lets our development team plan their next feature inclusion You can go there by using this link: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/categories/6327-known-issues-feature-requests
Hope that helps!

Hi Peter,
The issue is that if I enter the subfolder www.mytights.com/gb it then auo redirects users in the states to the US - I have tried using teh tag we use to force it to go to the store we want (?store_switcher=off) and this hasnt worked either...
It says "The URL mytights.com/gb redirects to a page that is not within the specified subfolder or subdomain (mytights.com/us)...."
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out to us! I do see what you are talking about, looks like your site is redirecting user agents to the site that is based on the the area their connection originated from. Unfortunately due to the over-inclusive nature of Roger, our crawler will not be able to accurately crawl your site if it tries to go to www.mytights.com.
The only way I could think was to set up a subfolder campaign where you let roger know to go to a specific subfolder to crawl the information/page. For example, take samsung's product global site www.samsung.com, it does a similar redirect to the country's page based on region, however you can still go to another countries' page by typing in the URL, i.e. www.samsung.com/cl for Samsung Chile's page. From that point if I want that countries' crawl information, I would simply setup a subfolder campaign to look for www.samsung.com/cl. I am wondering do you have something like that set up for your site such as www.mytights.com/uk (I am finding a 404) which I am assuming when I go to www.mytights.co.uk it will redirect me back to the US site.
Sorry for the long answer, but this comes down to a design question, since our product was designed to be over-inclusive with such a diverse client base (Roger doesn't shop....yet), so to get the most unbiased information for pages, it assumes multiple IPs to do its work which does present some problems for sites such as these with regional redirects. That design question is where my expertise comes to an end and I leave that to your capable hands, it would have to involve something on the subfolder level that can direct Roger to go to your UK page. ':)
Hope that helps!

How to Learn a Lot from Moz Q&A
You can learn a lot from Moz Q&A without asking any questions. The way to do that is to watch for topics that you are uncertain about, then subscribe to that question by clicking the "Email Updates" button. Then, when people reply to that topic, you will be able to read what they have to say and will likely learn many things (and see a few entertaining arguments 🙂 Give it a try. You might subscribe to more questions than you think and learn many things that will improve your skills and expertise.

Open Site Explorer and link numbers
I know this question has been asked many times in this forum but I still can't work it out. Why does this link: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?page=1&site=www.bookpal.com.au&sort=page_authority&filter=&source=external&target=subdomain&group=0 Which is showing all links, external, to pages "on this sub domain" show 1,935 external links but this link: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?page=1&site=www.bookpal.com.au&sort=page_authority&filter=follow&source=external&target=subdomain&group=0 which is exactly the same but this time shoing followed + 301 links, says "showing 1 - 50 external links) but won't show the total links (and I know the mouse-over on the question mark says it's won't show the total links, but I don't understand why it can't show the total links when it could show the total links when I requested to see "all links" instead of just "followed+301" links.) but it actually lists 700 links (14 pages, 50 results each page). I know the link list is limited to 25 links per domain but then it means you can NEVER know the total link count unless you download the full report. This makes using OSE to know numbers of links (internal, external, or otherwise) impossible. And if anyone uses the API, why the API (external+follow) returns 1,451 links? I'm sure it's an ongoing issue with people trying to get their head around all of this and I've never really been able to. Any insight would be much appreciated!

GWT data v SEO Moz data
I'm sure there's a simple explanation but I can't find it - Looking through the GWT avg position data v SEOMoz ranking data and Market Samurai data there is a large discrepancy. For one term that we hold #1, and have held for a month or two GWTis showing that the avg position is 180 (and down 30). Any reason you know of why the GWT avg position data would be so out of whack with our SERP's and other data? Thanks.

Open Site Explorer CSV reports
Hello, Small question about the Open Site Explorer. on August 24th I've been trying to create several CSV reports which I knew would take a few days. But now, almost a week later when I check Open Site Explorer > Recent CVS reports it tells me it's still saving data. It's been saving data for 4 days now. Am I missing something, is this a bug, do I have to do something or should I wait a little longer? Thanks in advance, Dennis Tappij Gielen Retail&Clicks JFwMt.jpg

The value of .uk.com domains
It was a long night last night (working, not playing), therefore forgive the potential stupidness of this question... Running an OSE report on a website earlier their top linking domain was *.uk.com. This is a valid TLD, and I know for sure that the website has not acquired links direct from the uk.com website but from some-other-registered-domain.uk.com. What I am asking is does the Moz Calculation and/or the pagerank calculation give more value to these links? *.uk.com has a Domain Authority of 71 and 156,497 linking root domains. If so i'm gonna go buy me a bunch of .uk.com domains..... Opinions please.
