Installing WordPress on a site OR just adding a blog page on the site - Which one is better and why ?

WordPress is way more than blogging software and is a fully fledged content management site that you can use to manage your entire site.
I can think of lots of reasons to use WordPress for the site + blog component in one package and hardly any to use one CMS for the main site and then another for the blog (doubling up your work).
- Use one system (WordPress)
- Make sure it is optimised (Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin a good start)
- Have a blog category in a subdirectory /blog
Ultimately, unless there are very specific requirements then I tackle this from a 'are there any reasons NOT to use WordPress' for this site perspective.
So, less work, great results, ease of publishing, a wealth of extensions and plugins and a generally out-the-box SEO friendly platform make for a fairly convincing argument.

This will depend on who is going to be managing the site. Installing Wordpress throughout your domain is ideal because everything is there already. All the tools and plugins are available in a heart beat.
Some admins prefer to use pure HTML websites because they can customize it according to how they want it, but it does require a little more effort and development ability.

To host a blog on your website there are numerous approaches. You can have Wordpress installed on a domain in its root folder or you can install Wordpress in a sub-directory (domain.com/WP/, you can re-name WP to blog so that it becomes domain.com/blog/ ) or you can install Wordpress on a sub-domain (blog.domain.com) etc. Personally I have had great success with installing Wordpress on a sub-directory. This way, I am not separating my blog content from its root and moreover adding strength to the root domain in terms of all SEO goodies. Hope this helps.

Non Published Wordpress Pages
Hi, Is there any negative SEO consequences from having too many pages private or not published. Can it like slow the site down or does it not matter? Someone in my dept. has so many pages started/not complete and besides being messy, I wonder if it has any negative impact on the site. Thanks

Post Site Migration - thousands of indexed pages, 4 months after
Hi all, Believe me. I think I've already tried and googled for every possible question that I have. This one is very frustrating – I have the following old domain – fancydiamonds dot net. We built a new site – Leibish dot com and done everything by the book: Individual 301 redirects for all the pages. Change of address via the GWT. Trying to maintain and improve the old optimization and hierarchy. 4 months after the site migration – we still have to gain back more than 50% of our original organic traffic (17,000 vs. 35,500-50,000 The thing that strikes me the most that you can still find 2400 indexed pages on Google (they all have 301 redirects). And more than this – if you'll search for the old domain name on Google – fancydiamonds dot net you'll find the old domain! Something is not right here, but I have no explanation why these pages still exist. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Impact of Adding a Mobile Site
Hi, we ranked very well for keywords trophies and trophies and awards on our home page, trophycentral.com for quite a while (many years). Recently we dropped off the charts, but are not sure why. So we posted this issue last week and got some great suggestions and are in the process of addressing them. However, we are now wondering if we caused this issue when we launched our mobile site a few months ago (timing makes sense). Has anyone had trouble with a mobile site impacting their traditional site? I am wondering if maybe google is splitting the traffic to the trophycentral domain and the m.trophycentral.com domain? Best way to change from one CMS to wordpress??
I have a client that was working with another SEO consultant and they pretty much dropped the ball big time! The SEO company took his site off of wordpress and put it on another CMS (http://www.wsinetsuccess.com/WSI-E-Fusion). My client would like to take hes site off of the WSI E Fusion platform and back onto wordpress. My question is how is the best way to going about doing this with out loosing all of the PR to the site? Should I find all of the URLs that are on the site and just 301 them to the right page? Generating a Sitemap for websites linked to a wordpress blog
Greetings, I'm looking for a way to generate a sitemap that will include static pages on my home directory, as well as my wordpress blog. The site that I'm trying to build this for is in a temporary folder, and can be accessed at http://www.lifewaves.com/Website 3.0 I plan on moving the contents of this folder to the root directory for lifewaves.com whenever we are go for launch. What I'm wondering is, is there a way to build a sitemap or sitemap index that will point to the static pages of my site, as well as the wordpress blog while taking advantage of the built in wordpress hierarchy? If so, what's an easy way to do this. I have generated a sitemap using Yoast, but I can't seem to find any xml files within the wordpress folder. Within the plugin is a button that I can click to access the sitemap index, but it just brings me to the homepage of my blog. Can I build a sitemap index that points to a sitemap for the static pages as well as the sitemap generated by yoast? Thank you in advance for your help!! P.S. I'm kind of a noob.

Why do I have one page showing as two url's?
My SEOMoz stats show that I have duplicate titles for the following two url's: http://www.rmtracking.com/products.php and http://www.rmtracking.com/products I have checked my server files, and I don't see a live page without the php. A while back, we converted our site from html to php, but the html pages have 301's and as you can see the page without the php is properly redirecting to the php page. Any ideas why this would show as two separate url's?
