What's the best way to switch a campaign from sub-domain tracking to root domain tracking?
-
I realized after the fact that one of my campaigns also has a mobile website sub-domain that I'd like to track (ex: http://m.website.com). How can I switch this campaign over to root domain tracking without deleting everything and starting over?
-
Thanks Peter!!

Hello there!
Thanks for writing in! This is a great question indeed! In our campaign tool, because the need to have the correct rankings tracked which is directly tied to sub vs. root. Our tool doesn't have the ability to edit root or sub domain information once the campaign has started
With that being said, I would recommend you download your historical rankings and relevant information using our export CSV function to preserve your historical information. Once you have done that, archive the campaign and start a new one with the correct root domain tracking.
One way to get this feature added into our next iteration of tools is to go to our feature request, chances are that other people are thinking the same great idea you are! You can visit that by going to this link: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/categories/6327-known-issues-feature-requests.
I hope this helps! I am going to leave this question open so other folks can chime in on this topic, perhaps there's a web dev wizard or a excel data master that can figure out a work around
Best,
Peter

I'm thinking there's got to be a way. Many people set up their entire sites with dozens of root domains. The real issue is whether that has to be done at the initial setup or not. Don't forget you can also email help@seomoz.org
-
Thanks for the suggestion Marisa, but unfortunately all 5 slots are taken, and I'm hoping that by tracking at root level it won't require depletion of those very valuable spots just to track the mobile version.
-
Do you have a free campaign slot? You could start an additional one just for the mobile site. But if there is a possible way for it to be added to an existing campaign, I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

Seeing steady drop in Domain Authority?
Hi! I'm working with a client that has seen a steady drop in their domain authority over the past year and a half. They were at 75 in October '13 and now they're down to 67. The drop seems rather steady over this time, no big dip. They've actually worked their crawl errors during this time and have reduced a ton of them. I can't figure out why this metric would be dropping. Anyone know of something measurable I can look at to help pinpoint the problem (and of course actions to fix it)? Thanks so much!

Root domain or 'www' subdomain for campaigns?
I am setting up a campaign and I am unsure whether I should specify the root domain (prohibitionhats.co.nz) or the 'www' subdomain (www.prohibitionhats.co.nz). Are there any guidelines for this or will Moz automatically aggregate the data for both irrespective of the domain you choose? Thanks Laurie

Can I setup SEOmoz PRO's 3 organic traffic metrics within Google Analytics (as custom reports)?
I like the 3 organic traffic metrics in SEOmoz PRO: 1) Organic Search Visits
Moz Pro | | AndreVanKets
2) URLs Receiving Entrances Via Search
3) Non-Paid Keywords Sending Search Visits They rock - especially for a high-level view of SEO / Organic performance. Is it possible to setup these metrics as custom reports directly in Analytics? Does anyone have these reports setup? Or maybe there are similar custom reports that give a similar high-level view?0 -
Why is my domain not being crawled anymore?
I just noticed that right around 12/1/2012, SEOMoz stopped crawling all but two pages out of the 400 or so on my website at www.TrustworthyCare.com . I speculate that this is probably due to some dumb mistake I made at that time, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that mistake was. Before that, the weekly crawls included all 400 or so pages. I wonder whether it's something that changed in our .htaccess file. Here's how that file looks now; can anyone see what is wrong there, or perhaps offer other suggestions if it doesn't look like anything is wrong in it? Thanks! PPS - I found and read this page, but I've pretty much tried the things described there (I think): Can you track the same keywords across multiple campaigns?
I have a few clients in similar industries across the country and I'm wondering if it's possible to track the same keywords (for instance, air conditioner repair, faucet replacement) across more than one campaign, or if I'll had to reupload the same keyword list for each one. Thanks!!
