What are the top 3 things you evaluate when contracted to SEO a website?

As a freelancer, what are the top 3 things you evaluate when contracted to SEO a website for a client?
-
- Keyword Research - Making Sure the right keywords are being targeted. Identification of Top10/50/100 Keywords, Current Rankings, Competition Identification, Analysis and Comparison.
- Site Index-ability, Keyword Targeting, Content Quality & any architecture level issues.
- Domain Link Profile, Strength, Social & other business initiativesand assets that can drive domain authority.
Dividing the above 3 points into On-Page (1st 2 Items) and (3rd Item)
I hope this helps.

- Keyword research - are they targeting the right terms?
- Crawlability - are spiders finding their pages easily? This includes site architecture.
- Content - are the pages any good/optimized.
And as a bonus you can explain to them how they're going to need to do some linkbuilding

Assuming this is an existing website, first I would take a moment to determine what had been done up till now; so onpage, backlinks, traffic, etc.; Second I would evaluate the UX making sure things flow for when the user is interacting and not causing a high bounce rate or other issues; Third I would analyze the competition as to determine an appropriate approach for the client to move forward on. With us we offer our advice as a consult and/or service, where they can then take the info somewhere else if they like, or have us perform the optimizations. Additionally we look at this a bit more in depth when in a real scenario, we try to bring a whole picture approach bringing in brand identity, development, and technology to aid in getting the desired results. Hope this helps with whatever you are looking for.

The Best Wordpress Templates and The Best SEO Plugins??
Hey guys, I am a newbie and after so many painstaking hours of building my new site using the WIX platform, I just found out that WIX is not SEO friendly 😞 So referring to (copy n pasted) the old post below posted in by Big Bazza back in June 2011, does anyone agree or have any updated information they can assist me with so I can get my new site started ? Cheers 🙂 www.studiopress.com - excellent templates and support is first class! EDIT: These all support WP 3.0 and are SEO friendly too! (They have modified the SEO functionality) However, the framework also allows you to run Yoast Wordpress SEO - which is generally considered the best SEO plugin for WP. http://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/

Home page redirect - will this cause an SEO problem
Hello, We are using Wordpress to build a wiki site. The wiki plugin we're using (Wordpress Wiki lite) can only be set up on an internal page like nlpwiki(dot)org/wiki Can we redirect the home page to the /wiki subdirectory and use nlpwiki(dot)org/wiki as our home page? I've never done that, just wondering if it will be indexed as the home page or if there are any connonical issues. Thanks!

Technical SEO Question about TLD combined with SubDomain
I am making a new website but need to figure out the best way to do this in terms of SEO. I would like the website to have functionality of brochure website combined with an online store. My issue is that I will be using software called prestashop for my online store and CMS called MODx to develop my brochure site. (These can not be combined into one CMS). I can create brochure site with MOdx = www.example.com & then from that a subdomain using prestashop for my online store = store.example.com Can I get Google to index these as one site or would I be better off trying to get everything under the TLD. Ideally I would like just one site without subdomain Bacially what I am asking is... What are the effects of having subdomains in terms of SEO? Am I better of having everyhitng under TLD? Can I get Google to view TLD and Sub as one site? Hope this makes sense, thank you.

Lazy Loading Content and SEO
I'v been seeing a lot of websites use a technique to present content to website visitors when the scroll down the page called "Lazy Loading". Does this hinder SEO and indexing since the content is not actually on the page until the user acts/requests it?
