How come my stories end up on bbc news

Hi, i get a load of traffic from the bbc news website but not sure how this happens.
For example we had a story the other day and according to my reports the traffic was coming from this page. http://www.bbc.co.uk//news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-21232826
but when i checked today to see the page i can see nothing about our story. BBC news has been really good to us for feeding us traffic but i am not sure how this happens as if i did then i would try and get all our stories seen by them.
Any help would be great in understanding how bbc news is picking up our stories

It maybe that they are adding your website under the article in the 'related internet links' section. Set up a Google Alert and you will get emailed when links appear on the website; then you might be able to locate them.

i have tried looking in the source code but nothing there but i did not check on the day. I was not aware they have different stories on their site but what i have noticed is, it happens alot.

Okay, then when you check for your URL on the page how are you doing that? Do you search for your URL in the source code? It would be good to locate exactly where on the page the URL is placed and from there you will have a better idea of how it's getting put there, or rather where to investigate next! The link might not be obvious on the front page, it could be an image link etc.

Are you running Adwords?Could be paid advertising on BBC news website that is pushing traffic to your site.
In your traffic report have a look for that URL and filter by a secondary dimension of 'medium'. This will tell you if it is referral traffic or paid advertising. If it is referral then there is (or was) a link to your website on that page. If it is ppc (paid) then it is the Google Ads.

Myself included.Is it possible that you are producing an RSS feed of your content that the BBC News is picking up and then including in their RSS feed? Just a thought.

How to get into Google's Tops Stories?
Hi All, I have been doing research for a few weeks and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot get my website (Racenet) into the top stories in Google. We are in Google News, have "news article" schema, have AMP pages. Our news articles also perform quite well organically and we typically dominate the Google News section. We have two main competitors (Punters and Just Horse Racing) who are both in top stories and I cannot find anything that we are doing that they aren't. Apparently the AMP "news article" schema is incorrect and that could be the reason why we aren't showing up in Google Top Stories, but I can't find anything wrong with the schema and it looks the same as our competitors. Google dance tools - do they still give an indication of rankings to come?
I can't remember the tool I used in the past but it searched a number of data centres which gave a pretty good indication of what your new rankings would be once full updated, is this still the case today? If so, can anyone recommend any tools?

Industry News Page Best Practices
Hi, We have created an industry news page which automatically curates articles from specific news sources within our sector. Currently, I have the news index page set to be indexed and followed by robots. I have the article pages noindex, nofollow, since these are not original content. Is this the best practice or do you recommend another configuration? Thanks!

Far away from top 50, am i doing it wrong or does it come down to linkbuilding?
Im currently far away from top 50 of a very crucial search term i google. Its my frontpage and the search term is aimed towards the city i live in Im having a hard time determing if its just a matter of linkbuilding. My concrern is if google have some kind of punishment on my frontpage or if the page. It could be a combination of SEO optimization that is not good enough and too little external links for the time being. The page has been live for a small month. With or without "/" at the end of domain
Hello, A client domains appear sometimes like www.domain.co.uk and sometimes like www.domain.co.uk/ I would like to place redirects from URLs that contain strings such as /index.aspx?id=42 to the main page but which one should I pick? With or without the "/" ? Thank you

Best way to address duplicate news sections within site
A client has a news section at www.clientsite.com/news and also at subdomain.clientsite.com/news. The stories within each section are identical: www.clientsite.com/news/story-11-5-2011 subdomain.clientsite.com/news/story-11-5-2011 What's the best way to avoid a duplicate content issue within the site? A 301 redirect doesn't seem appropriate from the user experience point of view. Is applying a rel=canonical <www.clientsite.com news="" story-a-b-c="">to each story within the subdomain news section the best option? They have 100's of stories, wondering if there might be an easier way?</www.clientsite.com> Also, the news pages list the story headline and the first 3 lines of copy. Do these summaries present duplicate content issues with the full story page? Thank you!

Will a "blog=example "parameter at the end of my URLs affect google's crawling them?
For example, I'm wondering if www.example.com/blog/blog-post is better than www.example.com/blog/blog-post?blog=example? I'm currently using the www.example.com/blog/blog-post?blog=example structure as our canonical page for content.
