Advice Needed: Why Is My Site Not Ranking Despite All The White Hat I Have Done?
-
Hi all,
I have tried all white hat ways to make my local business website rank well in Google.
We have done:
1.) Good quality content for our site on regular basis
2.) Submit to Google sitemap
3.) Link in an ethical way
4.) Post on social media sitesNo Google Panda content farming
No Google Penguin unnatural linkingIn fact, we have more quality articles to share compared to other laundry dry cleaning websites in Singapore.
Can anyone advice me on why my site is my ranking well?
-
You have an eagle eye.
Thanks for pointing that out
-
I know that I'm not directly addressing the question, however, you should really proof read your website!
There are countless grammatical / spelling errors on the homepage alone. This is on your testimonial:
| "I was searching online and found Singapore Dry Cleaning. Their price are very reasonable and also very efficient service. I am using them for quite awhile and i am very pleased and impressed with their service. Will recommend them to nayone who needs laundry and dry cleaning service." |
| Miss Cathy (Ang Mo kio)" |I'm not saying that spelling is a big part of Google's algorithm, but it will make you look far more professional to your customers.

I really thank you for your help.
I have changed many things on my website.
I will think go study and do research on what is GWT.
You are very helpful. Thank you!
-
I wouldn't worry about being scraped. My sites get scraped. SEOmoz gets scraped all the time. I your case, I would do two things. 1) Build the table and immediately resubmit that page in GWT. 2) Insert a row at the bottom of the table and put anchor text so if anyone does scrape your site, they point a link back to you. Or another approach is to insert a top row in the table and make an image saying something generic like "Singapore Dry Cleaning Services". Have the image on "your" server and/or make it link to your home page with the alt tags like alt="Singapore Dry Cleaning".
-
I got it on the rates images.
The reason why i am using images for the rates instead of table is because if that is a table, i will be copied by competitor sooner or later and i will be hit by Google panda because duplicate content.
I will add more words above the image.
Thanks for your help!
-
I thank you for your advice Rob!
-
Thank you Mossa!
-
Whoa, there are way too many images above the content. This image should be a table http://www.drycleaning.com.sg/images/Laundry-Dry-Cleaning-Rates.jpg. If I remember correctly, Google looks at the l x w of images of ads and
s and may think there is not enough content above the fold. Your content is way too far down the page.
Just a question, why Copyright 2004-2014 in the footer and not Copyright 2004-2013?
-
There are too many images IMO - the page is massive - the only text based content is in the middle of the page which isn't ideal. To be brutally honestly I'd scrap it and rebuild the site using a content management system.. break the home page down into sperate relavent pages..
Again this is only my opinion - but with my experience in the UK a site like this really wont rank well..
-
There can be many ideas… I guess you should focus on some press links.. as they are always high quality and some links from magazine sites as they contain lot of traffic. Infographic to your researches can be a great idea!
You can also try guest blogging in your niche and some related niches… also if you have budget try some videos as this will get your links, traffic and business leads at the same time!
Hope this helps!
-
Thanks, do you have any recommendation on how i can build link in a whitehat way?
I am posting it on social media such as Facebook and twitter now.
-
I guess you need to focus more on is your link profile… I am not saying its bad but in terms of quantity its less… you need to have more links in order to outrank your competitors…
The strategy is fine but you need to accelerate it a bit more so that things can walk in your favor!
Hope this helps!

Keyword rank drop, any advice?
Screen Shot 2021-08-26 at 19.02.18.png My search visibility dropped from around 13% a few weeks ago to 8.29%. I know that Google launched a bunch of updates in this past few weeks to ignore spam links, and I'm pretty sure that was the reason for the drop - some of the links to my site date back over 10 years and those links were garbage. Confusingly, at the same time, my Domain Authority went up by 1 to 32, then back down a week later. How can I restore my previous rank in the short term? We're designing a new site at the moment with vastly improved page speed, but I'm not sure what effect that will have yet (thespacecollective.com).

My client redesigned their site. Once it went live, ALL of their rankings disappeared. Even branding. Help?
Does anybody know why this might happen? When we made the new site, we just changed the skins. The source code was the same, the content was the same. Even when I search their brand name and their city, their URL won't show up. When I search their URL into Google, it won't even pull up their homepage: it only pulls up /contact-us and some other subpages. Any tips on what I should be looking out for?

Ranking Sub Categories on Ecommerce Site
Hi, I haven't tested this yet, so before I do I wanted to see if anyone had some experience with this. I have lower level categories I want to rank for SEO for example: Say I want to rank 'Standard Metal Lockers' - with the way our site is set up, I have to work within a classification, which isn't always easy. So it would be categorised as follows: Cupboards & Lockers > Lockers > Standard Lockers > Standard Metal Lockers The URL structure would remain /standard-metal-lockers & I would link this from the 'Lockers' page. Is this too deep in the site structure to rank? I think if it's linked properly & promoted it will be fine, but I'd like to see if anyone else has had this issue. Becky

.com ranked where .co.uk site should After Manual Penalty Revoked - Help!!!
Hi All, I wondered if some could help me as I am at my wits end. Our website www.domain.co.uk was hit with a manual penalty back in April 26th 2012 for over optomizing our inbound links and after 9 reconciliation request later and over a year and many links removed the penalty was revoked. Yay I hear you cry! During the year .co.uk was banned we built .com yet did not build any links to it. The purpose of the .com site was to attract an American audience for our products. .com was hosted on a US server and Geo Targeting set to United States in WMT. So here is my problem after the ban was revoke we expected .co.uk to spring back to some reasonable positions. Nope that is not the case Google now is ranking our .com site where our .co.uk should be for powerdull keywords in position 1st to 10th .com has Zero link equity and .co.uk is very reasonable, So how can I rectify this balls ups and get co.uk listed back where it should be…. I am not bothered where .com ranks. Note: To the best of my knowledge there are NO cross domain 301 or the like only an image link between the two sites. I have posted this on WMT forum and it has fallen on deaf ears! ....help me MOZ members you’re my only hope! Thanks in advance Richard PS: If anyone would like the URL’s in question PM me and I will let you know.

Hit by Google updates; Some good advice needed
Hi, Here`s my domain http://www.kent-website-designer.co.uk/. Registered in 2007. We have took a big hit from the updates in the last 6 months and its really affecting revenue. I know when you look at the site you may well think WOW this is 2007 SEO and youre right it hasnt been updated in some time as of last year we ranked very highly and it gave us enough business to concentrate on. However up until last year many of my competitors were using same onpage and offpage strategies....and probably a few of you were too! So now the inquiries and income is drying up. However, I provided myself with an income from my efforts, rather than be unemployed, so I want to get it back on track. I visited the Google webmaster forums to query a couple of webmaster account queries and basically got beat up by the rude and arrogant google forum admins. Basically they said I was a spam site who shouldnt be in business. How very nice! 1. I have EMD - but domain age should mean something? 2. I lost a few links from https://www.getsafeonline.org/partners-and-supporters/ in the last year which hasnt helped when they reorganised their content. Same with other trusted sites we lost links. We are left with low quality links. 3. Some CMS sites have replicated our footer links on a large scale, which wasnt intentional but may look as link spam, plus they arent no followed as G prefers. 4. Google seems to have become intelligent? Apparently it can detect content which is negative in outdated seo advice. How, can it understand context and meaning so older seo advice isdetected as spam content? 5. No pages are de indexed just a rank drop to 30 - 60 positions. 6. Over optimised H1`s? 7. Is Pipe command in titles now negative? So its sink or swim time I guess. The siteand domain is honest but neglected and probably should re align the business with what we can offer. We got away with that SEO but clearly things have changed. However with no grey or black hat at least we arent overly worried by removing links. Also looking for an SEO company who we can outsource with a white label solution in order to offer SEO. I dont need beating up, short and to the point critiques please. Pros and Cons Many thanks.

High ranked web site on Google GONE - but webspam team says nothing wrong
We purchased several weeks ago a .org blog that has been highly ranked (number 1 on competetive keywords) for at least a year. it is a blog We moved the blog to our IP range and it went from #1 on top keyword and first page on another to the home page just gone. Now there was a secondary page indexed that stayed on page 5 for the keyword the home page was ranked #1 but the home page (which was high ranked page is just gone) We wrote the Google Webmaster team for reconsideration but they wrote back and said the web spam team said nothing wrong. A contact of mine who works for one of the most well known SEO compaines in the world says because we moved it the site could disappear for a week or so but the "algos would realize" and return it to that top spot soon. Does anyone know anything about moving a site to new IP and issues that can result?

Need advice re: selecting an Ecommerce platform
Hi. I am responsible for choosing an ecommerce platform and overseeing the implementation of a large ecommerce site. The site will have tens of thousands of products and will be fairly complex. Eventually the site will integrate with the suppliers back end inventory/order management system, which is some sort of custom Windows/.NET system. (I'm not very technical if you haven't noticed....) Primarily I want a platform that is SEO friendly, and I have to be sure that the site is developed properly from an SEO and usability perspective. I thought I would go with an asp.net solution (aspdotnetstorefront, specifically) to facilitate the future integration, but I am questioning this choice after reading some of the comments I have found here at SEOMoz. So is asp.net really a bad choice SEO-wise? I almost considered Magento, but was having trouble finding a good solution provider to work with. I also worried about integration issues down the road. I would appreciate any advice or input anyone may have. Thank you!

Need help/insights. Site SEO = OK, Authority BLs = OK, Rank page #1\. How to reach pos #1?
Hi there! Some doubts are confusing my head and need some assistence from you to get on the right track. I'll explain my situation and want to hear from you what do you really recommend for med/long term permanent results. 1 - I have a PR2 (.com.br) domain; 2 - I'm talking about little/med competition micro-niche keywords; 3 - I got all pages I want to, indexed (I have a well SEO constructed website with internal link building); 4 - If a keyword has average competition, I'll already start ranking in page #3 on the SERP's; For a few low competition keywords I start on page #1; 5 - I do a little whitehat link building, 1 or 2 backlinks on authority sites and then like 15 days later I came to page #1, generally on position 9/10; And then I got stucked 🙂 No more authority sites where I can get backlinks... I do some posts on the company twitter/facebook page's, but they are no follow, so I don't really now if this can help. (never see a SERP result). I did some "blackhat" stuff to see if it really work: I can say for sure the "profile backlinks" that we can buy from some sites doesn't work (maybe it's just for me). I can't see it on webmaster tool and neither my ranks changed since I bought a pack of 100 links (the links are working, I see it one by one) to test. Maybe the problem is about the domains, cause my site is .com.br and I'm buying .com profile links. I guess google understand backlinks from .com.br more valuable for my sites. Back to whitehat: I wrote some articles and posted it the right way, of course on .com.br articles sites, got it indexed and can see the backlink on webmaster tool, but no change on SERP's. (maybe this can be a long term result and I'm not seeing it yet). I'm really "scratching my hand" to do some blackhat stuff, but I don't want to lose what I already have done... I heard a lot about scrapebox but doesn't fell confortable to spam as hell a lot of blogs. I really want long term permanent results (my sites are totally whitehat/corporate sites). Can you expert guys give me some point to where I need to "walk" now to improve the SERP's? I never reached top #1 and want to try to rank at least one time to understand how this can be made... I'm thinking now to pay someone to rewrite 20 copies of an article and up it on some sites, to see if 20 can improve something. But still no confident, because it will cost like $100 for a good writer do it for me on my language. Maybe I can do better things with 100 bucks. I guess I did the path right: Internal SEO -> got indexed -> backlinking from authorities -> new articles backlinks to me (is it ok at this position or no?) -> (what next ?) I know SEO is a hard/never ending work, but what I'm trying to get cleaned on my head is the path of the work (if a right path really exists). Every word will be apreciated. What do you can suggest to me to try now? (please give me a hint to see SERP's results 🙂 if I feel that something worked, no matter how it can cost to me, but I'll pay for the work happily) Sorry if I'm a little confusing, english isnt' my first language. Thanks.
