Link Management Software
-
Hi everyone,
I'm new to SEOMoz Pro, but have been reading articles on this website forever!
I'm looking for a software to help me organize links I've built, including (genuine) comments I've posted on blogs, forums, links from directories, articles or other websites.
I'm not talking about automated directory submission software or some other shady submission software. All I need is a software that could help me organize all these links and check if the link is still there from time to time.
One of the feature I'd like to have is the ability to retrieve page related information such as domain age, PR, incoming links on page, outgoing links on page and the theme relevance of each of these links.
Any good recommendation?

I like Raven's tools for link building. I have never tried buzz stream, but I am going to give it a try. I can't afford to have both Moz and Raven's.
The content manager in raven is VERY buggy. And axribe is very stripped down. I love scribe, but with ravens its limited.
Bugs with ravens content are as follows:
Meta description does not pass from raven to WordPress seo (you have to go into wp to re enter) when you do it created a duplicate post in WP which is a second bug. I mentioned this to raven and they said it was a bug with WordPress.

I don't think this is possible with Raven Tools!

BuzzStream definitely caught my attention!
It's much more powerful in it's link management feature.
Now I'm in the dilemma of choosing between Raven Tools and Buzzstream.
Raven Tools come with other neat features at the same price. It's content management and Scribe integration is quite attractive for me.
Any good advice?

Thank you Moosa!
Raven Tools is indeed a very powerful tool.
I was just wondering if we need to purchase subscriptions for certain features separately like Wordtracker so that it works within Raven tools?

Hi Chunlei,
There are a number of tools that can help you source and keep track of your link building process. I've listed a few of the most popular ones below:
One of these should fit the bill

After reading all your requirements there is no one name that can come in to my mind…I guess for retrieving page information there are many browser tool which can do this…I guess SEOmoz tool bar have the ability to check how many incoming links are on the page, how many outgoing links on the page, do follow and no follow links and more…
When you talk about management of links and check if the links are still available or not then in that case I think Raven Tools is better at this area…
These recommendations are my personal recommendations but are different alternate tools that can help you with the same.

Disavow links returning?
Morning Mozzers, Happy Presidents Day. We submitted a disavow file about 4 weeks ago and in GWT saw that our links went from ~20k to about ~1300. Now this was good as majority were dubious at best. What is strange is I logged into GWT today and see many of the links that appeared to be 'disavowed' are back in our profile. I do not have any messages from Goog. Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for you help.

Panda Update: Isn't a link still a link?
I was doing some link building and some SEO's said that the Panda update affected many websites. I am going to use eZineArticles.com as my example. EzineArticles was affected by the Panda update and does not show up in the SERPs as much as before. But they still have doFollow Links coming from the articles I am submitting. QUESTION: Regardless if EzineArticles was affected by the Panda Update, isn't a "Follow Link" still a "Follow Link" OR am I completely wasting my time on this devalued website? Edit: Yes I know a PR 0 page is not as valuable as a PR 9 page. I am asking from the standpoint of the affected Panda Update domains overall.

Free link on a Paid Link Blog
Hi there, I have been doing some outreaching, and managed to have a blog post accepted on a authority blog. They included links to my website, and I was very pleased with the placement. However, having browsed through the site, I was worried to see that they openly admit they allow 'reviews' of websites, with backlinks included, for $50 per review. I am worried I might be penalised without actually doing anything wrong. I did not pay for my link, but the link has been placed on a site which openly admits they accept payment for links. Should I be worried? Should I ask them to take it down? To date I have been told countless times by bloggers I am outreaching that if I pay $10, $50, $100 etc I can write a blog post. I have never accepted because of the risk of penalization. Now, unwittingly, I am linked to from a paid link site with a blog post that would look like I have paid for it because of the placement and style of back link. What do you think? Thanks,

Porn link ...
I just ran https://www.majesticseo.com report for back links and showed me that I have one link at porn site ... not sure if it will be appropriate to post it here. The link was discovered on 03.05.11 and when I visited today link is not there... I dont know who put that link there. Can I get penalty for that from google? Can it be a mistake?

Recognizing a back link
Have you conducted or know of any research/studies that examines when the inherited value of a backlink is actually attributed to the detination url? Meaning if abc.com links to xyz.com today with a unique long-tailed anchor tag, at what point would Google actually recognize the value of that link to xyc.com (ie increasing in the SERPs for that anchor). My first inclination would be at the point of indexation of the link but from my own casual analysis, I havent proved this to be true. Obviously we dont know exactly how google does this, but have you drawn any conclusions based upon your own findings? Perhaps there's a period of link evaluation post indexation before passing value in terms of ranking relevance? thanks!
