Site Architecture for a Services Company

Hey everyone,
I'm doing the keyword research for a new virtual assistant services website that I am building.
Being that there's almost a limitless number of services that a customer can outsource to a virtual assistant, I have a lot of service keyword options.
Here's the problem: I don't know how to layout my services in a scalable fashion so that I can continue to add onto the services list (each with their own unique and helpful page) after the website is published.
I have two options:
1. Create a service page with categories, each with links to the individual services. Like on my competitor: http://www.virtualemployee.com/services but with links to pages focused on the individual service keyword (ex. virtual receptionist services).
2. Don't have a services page, but include the services as blog posts like on my competitor's website: http://www.virtualstafffinder.com/blog.
Obviously, the blog would be much more "scalable" in the terms of adding more services. It also reduces a lot of clutter on my website. However, it's not categorized like the average service or e-commerce website. Not sure if this is necessarily a bad thing.
What do you think?

I'm still leaning towards option #2 because there are literally hundreds of things that you can outsource to a virtual assistant (VA). Because of that, I believe the user experience would be better just to have a services page only listing the 10 most common services that you can outsource to a VA. Do you agree?
I have the following questions about option #2:
1. Will each page have less page rank (since it's linked from the blog)? Or will it effect rankings at all since it's in the blog section of my site?
2. The page url for each service would be www.taskbullet.com/keyword (in the blog) rather than www.taskbullet.com/virtual-assistant-services/keyword (in the services section). Would this make much of a difference with rankings?
3. The content would be a blog post rather than web content. In your opinion, do you think that the content as a blog post would convert higher than a service page since it's more of a soft sell? For example, I would be creating a blog post like this: http://www.virtualstafffinder.com/virtual-assistant-transcription/
rather than a services page that talks about VA transcription.Again, your help is greatly appreciated!

I would go with option 1, and then blog about long tail keywords that answer questions at the top and middle of the sales funnel.
I do a lot of service based websites.
Try gathercontent.com to organize everything. It's a great app.

For ranking purposes I don't think it will make much of a difference whether you go with blog posts or service pages. I think it just a matter of preference. If I HAD to choose, I would probably go with adding the pages and created a "services" page with links to each specific page!
I'll be interested to see others responses...

I have a question for you. I have noticed that many music sites that appear in the first top results for keywords our users search for, include all the same ads that deceive people by inviting them to "Download" or get the "Full Album" of what people may be search for. Look at the following websites that are often displayed at the first spots for keywords like "Christmas Sheet Music" (just an example): [....] They all have, most of the times, the same ads. http://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/storage/google/Shot2.jpg Those deceptive ads could engage users more than legitimate websites not showing those ads or not showing ads at all, making Google think that people are more engaged on those website showing those deceptive ads. If it is quality that Google is looking for, shouldn't they do something to avoid having sites ranking well just because of some deceptive ads that take users into action, but without any useful result? How did this little site rank #2?
Keyword: "adoption agency" Site: http://www.opendooradoption.org These guys are ranked #2 for this very competitive term in all US regions. They're beating Bethany (and my company) who are orders of magnitude larger in both company size and link profile. Their domain authority is 40, and they have less than 200 links pointing to them with "adoption agency" in the anchor according to OSE. Their on-site is pretty much nonexistent. Does anyone have any theories as to how they accomplished this?

Wondering why my site ranks well for one page and not another.
Customers mainly find our site from searching very specific part numbers on google. My site is launch3telecom.com. Take for example these two parts:

Should I link to this site or is it too spammy?
Hi all, I've been asked if I want to exchange links with http://www.myteetimesonline.com/ and I'm tempted but fearful that its link profile looks spammy. What do you guys think? I'm basically starting from scratch with my own site http://www.golfgear4you.com and have a Page Rank 0 and Domain authority 32. The guys that want to link to me are Page Rank 3 but Domain authority 35. Their content would be of interest to my site's users and vice versa but my biggest concern is their link profile looks awful because the sites that link to them don't appear to be very relevant. I've done a lot of reading on this and have found the resources on this site to be a goldmine. The generally message is avoid easy links to spammy sites because they could hurt credibility. How can my site not ranked on easy keyword while it currently ranked 1 on difficult keyword??
The site in question is http://ikt.co.id The site is perfectly optimized (or even over optimized) for keyword "Bikin Website Murah" (in Indonesia it means "develop an affordable website") currently if you search on both google.co.id AND google.com, it ranked on #10 (on google.co.id) and it ranked on #7 (on google.com), and both term only return 1.3 million results I have A LOT OF pages that started with 'bikin website' , or 'website murah' ... there are a lot of them, and i have had a lot of backlinks on those pages too (have been manually building a lot of links, starting from creating a tutorial article and blog submission and many other way) .. the site has been perfectly optimized for that keyword For example we have http://ikt.co.id/blog-category/bikin-website-murah-promo-terbaru.html (for newest promotion) http://ikt.co.id/blog/bikin-website-seo-murah-discount-40-sampai-31-juli-2011.html (for discount 40% promo that lasted untill 31 juli 2011) AND YET, if you search on google.co.id for keyword "2000 likes facebook" , our lone page that i created when our facebook likes reached that amount, RANKED #1!! , and please let me tell you this term return 400 million results++ (on google.com this keyword ranked #19, on 500 million results++). And let me tell you it take that SINGLE page (which has absolutely 0 backlinks) 2 days to ranked #1 .... and her brother if you searched "1000 likes facebook" also show similar result (though not better then the sister) How ?!? and Why ?!? , i dont understand this at all.... my domain does not contain any keyword, they uses the same engine and yet that lone pages which have absolutely no backlink ranked so well on a very competitive keyword, while my Target Keyword ranked poorly.... And what is even more bizzare? "Bikin website murah" might not rank good, but "bikin website" ranked better x_x ... arghh i dont get it... why my site ranked poorly on easy keywords and ranked high on difficult keywords :(( .... Why I am not smiling because those easy keyword is actually my primary keywords 😞
