What would an SEO be paid with these skills?
-
Hello,
What would an SEO with these skills be paid (per hour in a larger company in a lower income state):
9 years in the field of SEO
Beginning and moderate link building skills
Excellent on-site optimization skills
Moderate Google Analytic skills
Complete HTML skills
Good to advanced CSS
Some PHP
5 years experience as a small business web designer
6 years experience working with eCommerce SEO
beginning to somewhat moderate Social media skills
beginning to moderate PPC, mainly Adwords
A foundation for local SEO
All the platforms that go with the above, like Wordpress, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. etc. -
I forgot content skills. Good writing/content skills would be included. Thanks

Not really sure. With 9 years experience I'd hope at the very least $50,000. Rand has a good post on this from 2011:

What would the pay rate be in-house for these qualifications?
-
You'd probably get more in-house than at an agency. Most agencies want you to focus on one thing and do it over and over. Your wide variety of skills could really get put to work an in-house position. You can save the company money on hiring out to agencies.
Just my .02

i have no idea as far as pay rates but i just wanted to say:
if I were looking for an SEO guy I would want more social media and writing skills and less HTML/web design skills.. I'd be looking for someone who can write great content and attract viewers. Design can be left to others.
Just saying... in case you were wondering what skills this person should work to improve.
anyway, interesting topic. thanks

Does the Year according to the URL have an SEO impact
I ask to Godaddy if there is an SEO impact between buying a url for 1 year or 10 years. They said me that there is no impact, however, I read the historical URL has one. So, the question is : buying with 1 year and autorenew might be the right choice. Warm regards,

Where to Look for a Standard 9-5 SEO Job
Hello, I'm looking for a standard 20-30 hour a week SEO job. I'd like to make $30/hour. My resume is here. So far I'm making a list of all the SEO companies in Boise, Idaho. Then I'm going to also call up the larger companies in my local area. I'm interested in knowing how to best look for a job, and if there are any national companies where I could do work locally for. Let me know what other information I can provide.

Where do i find Local SEO Clients?
Hey, So i've been doing SEO for a while now and know a lot of tactics and a lot of ways to get my/others sites hire. I know good software (and have that software with full licenses and know the methods to use it in whitehat ways that will work well), internal content linking, title/description, webmaster tools (both google and bing), sitemaps etc... I have clients and my own sites that i have managed to get high in google, as well as my own local site that is number 1 in Google for my hometown + SEO, but that only gets about 80 searches a month and gets me very little if any phone calls a week. I've also just ordered 250 high quality business cards, that i spent ages designing to look awesome.. If these work well i'll print some more and stick all over the place... I currently have 2 local clients, 1 is a local web agency who every client they have they pay me a specific amount to boost that company in Google and the other is just a family friend who pays me a small amount a month to build links for him. I'd like to have 10-15+ clients all on my payroll with a nice amount of income that i can live off. I just finished full-time school and am just coming into the big wide world and have for paid for my new laptop, desktop, 2 monitors, SEO software licenses and SEOMoz account from niche blogs, software and SEO coaching and such.. I've built a brilliant online portfolio for people and have had a lot of great feedback from online clients. But i can only earn around $10-$110 per online client for SEO and around $8/hour for coaching... I'd like to be able to make that a LOT more. I do web/graphic design as well and have built a nice portfolio for that as well. So back to the main question, how did you and how do i get local clients? Thanks!

I run a community site that has over 1 million pages of user-generated content specific to a very defined vertical. I recently switch to the Drupal CMS and have paid the price in the search rankings. I need to find someone to help with my site's SEO efforts. What should I be looking for when selecting an SEO professional?

What is your Biggest SEO selling point to prospective clients?
Typically, our SEO questions are around "how to's" and etc. So, to change it up I will ask a business question: What is your biggest selling point when presenting your SEO services to a new client? In a spirit of transparency, I will tell you mine ahead of time. With PPC, TV, Radio, and Print at some point in time that ad comes to an end. When it ends, that is it. There is no residual from that advertisement - or very minimal at best. With SEO, once you are ranked well and well optimized you continue to get clients for a much longer period of time. With clients who TV and print, this rings especially true and is easily provable. I can't wait to hear yours.
