Facebook Contest: Fan or Not?
-
Let's say that I manage a Page for a company, and I run a contest through a "Promoted Post".
-
Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan?
-
My objective is to increase the fans number of the page, which is your best practice to achieve that through a Facebook contest?
Many thanks.

Ok Sean, thank you anyway for your tips!

haha damn. Was hoping it was not something I am in. I already consult for one of the largest ecom online printing businesses.
I will say this. Social is not for every industry. Attributable revenue is not always there, look at assisted conversions and determine what your real goals for social are. As fan count isn't a metric to worry about. Look for either last touch, assisted revenue via Google analytics or some engagement metric. Too many people get caught up in social and how cool it is. At the end of the day, its money that matters.

Great Sean, thank you.
The industry is "online printing", if you have some ideas
-
No you can have someone like a post but not be fan.
Here is an example of an in newsfeed ad to like a page from my own newsfeed

If you want to give me more details of the business, I could give you ideas. Don't have to tell me their name. Just what they do so I know the industry.

Thank you Sean, very specific about the 2).
What is your answer to the question 1)?
1) Does every single Like to that "Promoted post" will be counted as new fan?
-
We do facebook ppc for a few clients and depending on the industry, it works really well. Am able to secure a good fan (in the industry) for maybe $0.25-0.50. Also try and capture their email as well by landing them on a tab which post like they can enter for a contest.
Key is to build out your campaigns very targeted instead of lumping stuff together. Its just like newbies with PPC versus people who are good at it. Granular is good.

Facebook Name Change and Effect on SEO
Hey Mozzers! Trying this one again as my timing was probably pretty bad with Easter. Working with a company who has about 20K followers on Facebook and about 500 backlinks to their current facebook page. They want to change the name of the page to better reflect the business. I need to advise on this but I'm not sure of and how it will effect them. Any one had any experience in this area?

Is there a Facebook Ad equivalent to Google MCC?
Hi Mozzers, Really unsure if we are missing something here, but whilst trying to set-up paid ads for some of our clients on FB we have run into a significant issue. We need to be able to allow FB to debit multiple business accounts for varying ads on different pages. However every time we try to access the ads manager to set-up a new ad, FB takes us to the individuals (the person logged in to the page) account, rather than creating an ad account for that page/business individually. What are we missing? We use Google MCC for managing our PPC campaigns and so wondered if there is anything similar we can use for FB? Or any other recommendations on how to get round this without dragging each client into the office and asking them to log-in so that we can set these up? Thanks!

Competitor has 50 linking root domains, 2500 facebook likes
Hello, A competitor of ours is ranking way higher than you would expect. They have very few links, half the DA and homepage PA of us, yet they rank several slots higher. On analysis, the only difference seems to be that they have 2500 facebook likes. Did they buy likes? Have you seen anything odd like this before? Thanks.

Do you need legal rights to pictures in Facebook posts
When I add an image to a Facebook post (for a FanPage) does it need to be something I own or have credited, or can I use whatever images I like? Is this something that is at all monitored? Thanks!

Should my Facebook like button be for my Facebook page or my webpage?
I am curious as to people's opinion about the Facebook like button you add to a given website. It would seem with the increased influence of social media indicators that you would want to have people "like" your webpage (as opposed linking the like back to your Facebook page) when they go to your webpage, but this dilutes the number of likes you get at both Facebook and your webpage. It is my understanding that people are more likely to "like" a page that already has a lot of "likes." As most of my clients are very small businesses, this is a significant consideration as their "like" volumes are very low by default (i.e., if you only have a few hundred people who even use your business it is hard to get thousands of likes). Thanks for your opinion!

Blog Contest Question
Hello, I'm planning a blog contest. I have the project plan outlined and the one missing factor is where to promote the blog contest to get the most people involved in the contest possible. What do you recommend in regards to publicizing the contest to bloggers?

Does it make sense to have one facebook/twitter account for multiple websites?
If you have several different websites with related themes, does it make sense to just have a facebook or twitter page for the company to make managing the account more manageable?
