Email, phone, address on banner
-
Should I remove my email address, phone and address from banner and place only on contact us page? Does this matter for Google placement? thanks Trish

Are you talking about a banner ad or just a banner on your site?
If it is just a banner on your own site, I don't really see the harm and Google can't tell what is on the image. You should also contain the information in text on your contact page and possibly in the footer of your site.
If you are talking about an ad that appears on other sites, I wouldn't recommend this. You are using up valuable ad space and more than likely someone isn't going to call you or jot down your address before they click on the banner and check out your site.

Hi Wayne coll,
I totally agree with you, if we provide contact information on each and every page in a domain it is like user friendly, if visitors found all these information on a page where they landed, then they feel quite good.
And also, one small tip, we may have so many branches linked to our business(More than 10 Locations) rite at that time, in ContactUS page we can provide all branches information in this page and for inner pages we can provide MainBrach Name:Contact Number1, MainBrach Name:Contact Number2, MainBrach Name:Contact Number3 at the bottom of the page.
Actually this is the process we are following.
Thank you....

In my personal opinion it doesn’t matter if you have this information on every page on not but it has to be on the contact us page.
Talking from the user perspective if you think you are in the industry where people love to have contact information then place it on every page may be in the header or footer, Google won’t gonna have any problem within in normal cases!

David is right. Google just wants to give the ease to users. It's good tactics is you are providing your contact details without harm the content placement.

I agree with David. The last thing you want is for your visitors to have to search for how to get in touch. Best rule of thumb- hand that to them on a platter. Make it easy. I also agree that it should be text, not a graphic.

I always like to have contact info on every page it helps users and that is what google wants. Local business need this more then pure online stores but make sure its not on a image on the banner so google can read it

What's the best SEO tactics when you have a dedicated web address pointing to a page on a different site?
Hope someone can help with a question I've got about sorting out some duplicate content issues. To simplify the question, imagine there is a website a.com which has a page a.com/newslettersignup. In addition to the a.com domain, there is also a different web address, ashortcut.com, which points to a.com/newslettersignup. ashortcut.com is the web address that is advertised in marketing material etc. So what is the best way then to tell Google etc. that ashortcut.com is the preferred URL for the page which sits at a.com/newslettersignup? The advice I've read about the canonical tag, for example, doesn't cover this exact scenario so although it can support cross-domain information, I'm not sure if that's the best route to follow. Thanks!

How do I address "Critical Factors: Accessible to Engines"?
Hello,I am going thru the on-page report card produced by SEOMOZ and am stumped as to how to address the first critical factor. It looks like the correct meta tag to get search engines to index the site is at the bottom of the header. And as far as I know, which isn't much, the site returns the HTTP code 200 when I refresh.I am new at this, so please let me know if you have some specific solutions. I am using IWeb and the IWeb SEO Tool to make meta code improvements. I have pasted the head code for my website (www.grass2greens.com) below. Email in Local Search Directory Listings
Hi! I am relatively new to the world of SEO . . . let's say I'm still testing the waters. My role is at the company I work for is Local Search Specialist. I'm claiming/verifying/publishing listings for my employer's clients in attributing search directories. Yada yada yada. You guys are pros. Anyway, I have become apprehensive when listing a client's email in directories besides Google Places. I know that content matching between the client's website, Places, and attributing directories is a must; but spam is the worst. I'm trying to avoid spammers and sketchy directories contact the clients with sales pitches via email as much as possible. Should I create an additional email specifically for these directory listings and keep tabs to see if real people are using it as a means of contact? Not list the email at all? What should I do?!?!?!?!?!?!? Any insight/words of wisdom is appreciated!

Www vs "non" www site addresses and SEO
I first apologize for the lame question title - didn't really know how to word it... I'm having a bit of a conundrum and cannot figure out whats going on, but in the mean time I thought I would ask to see if its hurting my ranking. My site at www.ap-mg.com is built on WordPress using the Thesis them by DIY (just a little upfront info). I am very careful to make sure that all my links are in a particular format i.e. http://www.ap-mg.com - on my site, as well as other sites I have my profile on. My site also used to be hosted on the /home directory until about a month ago. My problem is that when I click on the DA MoxBar link while at my sites homepage, it takes me to Open Explorer, but to ap-mg.com and shows no results - I then add the www to the front of the address and vuala - results. But then the second issue I'm having is then it tells me that my site is redirecting the the /home directory, which its not and I'm still trying to figure that one out. So with all the craziness with my site, www, no www, /home....is this killing any chance of real ranking?
