Creating Free Website Accounts (Weebly, Wix, Wordpress.com, etc) for Linking Purposes?
-
Greetings Mozzers,
I came a cross several sites and when looking at their link profile I found they had several links from these free services to gain links. Obviously duplicate content is bad, but if all the content on each one was completely unique, would these links be of quality? Let's say, 1 link per site that is external to your site.
I know it's a tricky topic but just wanted thoughts, would the above be a potentially beneficial method for gaining a simple quality link.
Your advice and information is much appreciated!

Thanks for your advice, yeah I want to make sure I don't harm myself.

Thanks for the response! I'd' have responded sooner but was reading all the content. Great share, it will definitely help my linking building efforts.

If the content on these sites are unique and useful, they will hopefully gain some inbound links. If they gain enough inbound links and link to your site, there's is a possibility they could help
However, most likely they will not get and may appear spammy and could ultimately hurt you. Probably will do more harm than good.

You can definitely build up microsites on free platforms like Wordpress, Tumblr, Blogger, etc. and link them back to your main site, but keep in mind that those links aren't going to be worth much unless the microsites themselves also have backlinks. A link from a brand new PR0 website just isn't going to do much for you.
So if you want to see success with this strategy, you'll have to generate unique content for all of your microsites, as well as build links to all your microsites as well. This is obviously a lot of effort, but can be worth it in the long run if you have the resources and are in a niche where links are hard to come by.

Is it possible to create "hidden" backlinks?
Don't miss interpret this... I DON'T mean hidden backlinks that you would stick on a page using html/css. What I am trying to figure out is if it's possible to create backlinks from sites that aren't visible by crawlers or SEO tools like Moz?... Does that make sense? Another words, let's say I place a visible/genuine/follow backlink to any external website from my blog. Is there a way to keep crawlers like Moz or other SEO tools from "seeing it"?

Why is razorservers.com the #1 result on Google for dedicated server hosting?
Why is razorservers.com the #1 result on Google for dedicated server hosting? The site also ranks well on Google for the keyword dedicated server. It outranks sites with a PageRank of 7 and 100k+ back-links. Thanks

Websites like these..
Hi, I'm new to link building. I have done some research of my competitors and have found that many of them are being linked to sites like this http://www.worldofwondersvu.com/ As you can see, this website looks like a business website, but if you view the content, it's spammed with external links. I'm just wondering what method they are going about to get these links, because most of the websites that are linking to them are simular to the one I posted above! Thanks 🙂

What's the best way to make sure a link is worth getting?
I know what tools to use and I use all of SEOmoz's tools daily. PA, DA, MR, & MT are all things I take into account, but sometimes all you have to do is look at a site and you can tell it's not worth it. I'll analyze the page's backlink's and everything in between. Are there any tricks out there that can help the decision making process? I'm tired of trying to get links on sites that clearly are not worth it, but all of their stats say otherwise. So do you stick with stats, or is it a judgement call? I'm particularly curious about determining the amount of possible traffic from a link. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
