SMO - Author Image

Hi Friends,
I am having some doubts in author image in the social media websites.
For example: I am having account in twitter, facebook and Google+ should I use the same image for all these 3 websites.
Your Feedback on this is important for me.
Thanks for your time.

I seem to agree with everyone else. You definitely want people to remember you for what you are and who you are. That's why you want to use the same image across all networks.
-
I agree very much with Tom's view - consistency brings you brand awareness and users are drawn to authors they recognise. I know that I generally am. I can't really see any benefit in using different images for your social media profile so would suggest using the same ones.

It's what I do and I know a lot of people do it too.
I think it's a good idea as it gives you consistency across the networks, which allows you to market yourself.
If you think about traditional advertising, you start to notice a brand more and think about its reputation if you constantly see it wherever you go.
It's the same for these profile pictures - I can recognise bloggers and SEOs just by their profile pictures. Not only does that make me want to look out for their post when I see it and not just scroll over, it also adds a a touch of authority to them.

Background Images and ALT text
We pretty much exclusively use background images for our sites. How do I add in alt text? I tried a Google search for this issue and the best answer I could find was "Use the 'title' tag in the containing div", but that was from 2010. Is there a better way to do it? And no, we're not going to switch to using standard images, because background images are way more slick for UX.

Source? Google says having an author photo increases CTR by 15% on average.
I was listening to an interview with Rand Fishkin on the Eventual Millionaire: http://eventualmillionaire.com/rand-fishkin/ Rand said that Google says that having an author photo increases click through rate by 15% on average. I am trying to find the original source of this information. Has anyone know the source of this stat?

Editing Author Pages
Hi, Quick question regarding author pages. I have the blog set as me for my author page. so the url is: mysite.com/blog/author/miles/ Now, seomoz has picked up that my author page is missing meta description. But, this cannot be editied through wordpress as there is no edit option available. I may really be missing something, but where can I alter the author page, I have a feeling it might be fed from G+ but no really sure what part of G+ is used as the description. Thanks Miles
