Community question- Penguin 2.0 link types?

What type of links do you think Penguin 2.0 targeted most - anchor text abuse , directory links, paid links, low quality guest posts, article directories etc????

I have some bits of news for you I've collected from trusted sources regarding what is new in what we should be expecting regarding panda 2.0
I will start off with one this is Matt Cutts speaking to gentleman I will link to below
"Links Must Be Citations"
http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2259674/Penguin-2.0-Forewarning-The-Google-Perspective-on-Links
First and foremost, I don't work for Google. This article represents my opinions, but my company has worked on helping large numbers of sites get Google penalties removed.
The hardest part of these projects is always to get the client to understand what constitutes a bad link. This starts at the very core of how they think about online marketing and search engine optimization (SEO).
There are many who argue that this problem is of Google's own making. They created a world in which abuse wasn't only possible, but that was even very easy to abuse in the beginning. As some would say, they were talking the talk, but not walking the walk.
Some people even got mad. They would yell at Google that they couldn't follow their guidelines because it put them in a situation that was like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
But, as Greg Boser said on stage at SMX Advanced in 2012, Google is now not just talking the talk, but they are walking the walk as well. Penguin and their various attacks on unnatural links have dramatically reshaped their ability to detect and act on link building practices they consider detrimental to their algorithms.
note how they arty link themselves at the bottom

If I were you, I would do the following
Press releases - Never use your keyword. Use your brand name, urls, or natural terms like click here, etc.. Use these for authority building and diversity.
Guest Posts - 1 anchor per 550 words, you can use an anchor text in these. I personally suggest myblogguest elite area, if your article isn't good enough to get into the elite area then it's not a good guest post. Post on sites with DA 30+ if relevant, and DA 40+ if they talk about many subjects on the site.
Directory links - There is a fine line here. Don't use keywords in your directories, use urls, brand names etc.. Use this for diversity and to be honest there is just a handful out their that are quality sites. MOZ has a full article floating around here on the best ones to use. Sites like DMOZ, yahoo, etc are the only quality ones. I why shy away from the free platform sites, sure there could be a few. Sites that aren't human edited I wouldn't even use.
Never use paid links, your just asking to be penalized eventually.
I agree with everything Takeshi Young said regarding what this new update is really about, they just cracked down hard. Also, I noticed in this last update the average amount of words per page went up. Onpage still doesn't matter much here is my case study to prove it http://dailyseotip.com/what-other-marketing-firms-want-you-to-believe-that-isnt-true/3356/
Just be careful where you post. It doesn't hurt to check the site out your about to post to on OSE for a few moments to insure they are using quality tactics too.
Have a great day.

Penguin 2.0 works the same way as previous Penguin updates from what I can tell, penalizing overuse of anchor text and low quality links.

Links Questions and advice?
I have a website which has a fair few link assets that are doing very well (a lot of really powerful sites have link to them with follow links) but my commercial pages are not doing as well as a lot of sites without any other investment than (mediocre) links direct to there commercial pages with at least 10% of them carrying the money anchor text. Even pages we have had a few links for with generalized real anchor text and reasonable links do not do as well as the above due to none of them carrying the money keyword? Is it me or does google still rely on links to the commercial page and keywords with anchor text to match the money term?

Do image "lightbox" photo gallery links on a page count as links and dilute PageRank?
Hi everyone, On my site I have about 1,000 hotel listing pages, each which uses a lightbox photo gallery that displays 10-50 photos when you click on it. In the code, these photos are each surrounded with an "a href", as they rotate when you click on them. Going through my Moz analytics I see that these photos are being counted by Moz as internal links (they point to an image on the site), and Moz suggests that I reduce the number of links on these pages. I also just watched Matt Cutt's new video where he says to disregard the old "100 links max on a page" rule, yet also states that each link does divide your PageRank. Do you think that this applies to links in an image gallery? We could just switch to another viewer that doesn't use "a href" if we think this is really an issue. Is it worth the bother? Thanks.

Infographic question
I am about to post my first Infographic and have a question. The graphic is fairly long and was wondering, is it better to split this graphic up in to chunks? So that it loads in stages? I am new to this and would be great if someone could point me to the latest and best practices for infographics. I have seen a few articles but they appear to be old. Thanks for your help

Links on My website
I am looking to create some more trust on my website by subscribing to BBB. I have heard that my site is penalized and loses "link juice" if I place the BBB logo link in my page footer on every page of my website. Does anyone know how much I am penalized? Should I only put it on my conversion pages and maybe my main 10 sub pages? My main goal is to assist in getting conversions but I don't want to do it at the expense of getting a penalty. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Boo

Can I reduce number of on page links by just adding "no follow" tags to duplicate links
Our site works on templates and we essentially have a link pointing to the same place 3 times on most pages. The links are images not text. We are over 100 links on our on page attributes, and ranking fairly well for key SERPS our core pages are optimized for. I am thinking I should engage in some on-page link juice sculpting and add some "no follow" tags to 2 of the 3 repeated links. Although that being said the Moz's on page optimizer is not saying I have link cannibalization. Any thoughts guys? Hope this scenario makes sense.
