In OpenSiteExplorer, why is HTTPS not an option?
-
Our website (https://www.guardly.com) is using secure HTTPS protocols. For whatever reason, in the "Top Pages" section, OpenSiteExplorer only has pages that were online years ago and hasn't updated its index to retrieve index and show links for HTTPS pages. It's pretty frustrating as we are trying to optimize our website and it's really hard to get feedback/data from the service for new pages on our website. Any comments/thoughts would be really helpful.

It seems Moz completed the required engineering work and the index will build up in the upcoming months.

Hi RKG-Dev -
When we release this you will be able to retrieve https URLs and associated metrics from the API in the same way you currently retrieve http metrics. We will be crawling https URLs at the same time we crawl http URLs so they will be available on the same dates.

As I understand it, the HTTPS crawl data will work it's way into the indexes iteratively over time, and this should start in one of the next few indexes. This means that we should have better and better secure site representation over the next few months. I'll try and keep this thread posted as we see uptake with this.
With regard to the SERP analysis reports, if you are asking about metrics for https pages, this will come along for the ride, as will access via the API, campaigns, and OSE.

Quoting Megan from SEOMoz:
"Hi Peekabo!
This is Megan from the SEOmoz Help Team. Unfortunately, OpenSiteExplorer does not support https at this time. Sorry about that! This also means that any metrics that are gathered by our Mozscape Index (the index for OSE) are going to be for the http version of the site, which includes Page Authority. We hope to support https sites in OSE at some point, but it's probably still a ways out. We'll update this feature request thread as soon as this feature is available, so you can keep an eye on it: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20770156-open-site-explorer-to-crawl-https

No page authority for https and www versions
In Moz page onsite explorer, I'm getting a page rank of 1 for https://productcategory, and www./productcategory, but for the non-www version, I have a page rank of 33. The DA for each link is 25 Google is indexing my https:// version of my site (with the page rank of 1). Could this be why I'm getting outranked by my competitors (who have no content on their page, no links, and a lower domain and page authority than me?) Does this indicate some kind of issue with my redirections or settings in google search console? I would love to know how to fix this if it could be causing issues Thanks

Discrepancy between backlinks (opensiteexplorer vs. search console)
Hey there, when I check in search console for "Links to your site" and "your most linked content" I see incoming links pointing to the wrong (country and language) subdirectory? When I check those same backlinks with opensiteexplorer they seem to point (after redirects) to the correct subdirectory. Anyone out there with similar experiences or thoughts on this? I would be happy to give access to search console if you wanted to have a look at this. Google updated their algorithm. How up to date is OpenSiteExplorer's Domain and Page authority?
Hi guys, as we all know, Google Panda update is here and it changed how they rank inbound links and the linkers domain and page authority. But when I look at OpenSiteExplorer's results, I cant see a difference in the page and domain authority. Why is that?

Does SEOmoz work for fully secure sites (https)?
We have created a large file sending service (https://digitalpigeon.com) and for obvious reasons we have secured the entire site (we used to have a trial file send form on the homepage so it made sense to secure everything with 301 redirects from http to https) Because we, somewhat naively, started out with a memorable name and domain - Digital Pigeon - where all of our competitors just keyword stuffed their domains we don't really rank for any useful keywords yet. For me, building domain authority via links is more important right now that any on page SEO that is going to be trumped by google's infatuation with domain keywords anyway. Here's the problem though, it seems SEOmoz and even Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools all fail to take into account inbound links for both http and https for any reports or analysis! I'm wondering if utilising SEOmoz PRO for keeping tabs on our MozRank is pointless if it's not accounting for all inbound links

OpenSiteExplorer on Twitter...
Silly question time..... Can Open Site Explorer work on twitter profile pages? Or is the fact twitter is on https still an issue for crawling open site explorer? Cheers in advance

OpenSiteExplorer Doesn't Show accurate links
Why do I get different results from SEOmoz tool bar and OpenSiteExplorer for some sites. For instance I look at one site and toolbar says it has 101 link domains, so I check it in OpenSiteExplorer and it says 2 link domains...? Am I missing something, or is it just not working properly?
