What the - SERP?
-
I have my site I made 5 days ago with 5 pages of unique content at 500 words each, no backlinks, and non-optimized on page SEO.
I just check my SERP ranking for a competition of 49-50% at I am sitting at the bottom of page 1?
Will I keep this rank or what?
-
No its just a regular micro niche site focused on one thing with posts that are relatively old.
Nothing out of the ordinary; I should expect a drop then.
-
Are you using wordpress or some kind of blog CMS? I have seen my posts shoot up the SERPS almost immediately after I post and then slowly over a few days creep back down and unless they start getting socially shared or linked to fall off the front pages. It's to do with how Google counts fresh content.

I've seen something similar especially when you appear in some kind of news websites.
Maybe Google wants to see if his new page is no something 'viral'.

Sorry to disappoint you but look to me lately that Google show new sites up (same with new maps) for few days and then they drop to their natural position.
i was coming across this few weeks ago with one of my customers projects and seance then i am checking it and see most sites show up there for few days and drop down.
hope it will stay up for you

This could be influenced by other factors. Are you logged in to Google, are you visiting the site in private browsing mode etc?
If you've visited the site a few times, Google will take this in to account and push your page higher up the SERPs for searches conducted by you.
Hard to tell if you will keep the ranking without knowing any more information?

Description tag not showing in the SERPs because page is blocked by Robots, but the page isn't blocked. Any help?
While checking some SERP results for a few pages of a site this morning I noticed that some pages were returning this message instead of a description tag, A description for this result is not avaliable because of this site's robot.s.txt The odd thing is the page isn't blocked in the Robots.txt. The page is using Yoast SEO Plugin to populate meta data though. Anyone else had this happen and have a fix?

The company brand name does not show in SERP
Our company is ranking no.1 for brand keyword, however, when you try to find it by two words(with space between) then all those shows up and the website is nowhere to find. Any suggestions on how to solve this without the need to be ranked for something related

Lots of Listings on Page 2 SERP, but none on the first?
For one of our most important keywords we have several pages ranking highly on the second page of search results in google. Yet none on the first page, is there anyway to concentrate our rankings to bump one to the first page? We would rather have even just one link on the first page than the 4 or 5 we have on the second now.

Swear Filter - SERP Impact
My forum currently has a swear filter in place. While I personally think in most cases there's better alternatives to swearing, the general consensus is that it should be removed, and I've no problem with that in principal, however my concern is that Google may penalise the site in some way if this is done. I've searched around a fair bit and haven't found any solid info on this so hoping someone on here may know the answer. The question - Can repeated swear words effect rankings or prevent a website displaying in Google if safesearch is on? Thanks as always.

Here is an example title that is offered in three formats. 44 Charles Street - Danielle Steel - abridged CD audiobook 44 Charles Street - Danielle Steel - MP3 CD audiobook 44 Charles Street - Danielle Steel - CD audiobook Each of the above pages has a different page title, a different URL, a different meta description however much of the body (from [Listen to a FREE Audio Clip] down is the same. How long does it take to seen Title in SERP
A friend of mine asked me how long it takes before Google shows the right Title in the SERPs. He changed the title of his homepage some weeks ago but Google still shows the old Title in the rankings... I'm a Wordpress user and don't have this problem, when I change something in the title it doesn't take that long to see the changes showing up in SERPs

Google SERPS showing wrong page.
I am new to SEO and trying to rank for keyword 'corporate entertainment' and my site is currently at 26. However google is showing the homepage http://www.musicliveuk.com in SERPS as opposed to my optomised page http://www.musicliveuk.com/home/corporate-entertainment. Any ideas why it is choosing so show the home page as the most relevant result?

Appropriate SEO strategies for a website's own SERPs?
Hello all, What are good on-page SEO practices for the search result pages on our own sites? For instance, what page titles do you use? Do you include page numbers? Meta-descriptions? Headers? Keyword utilization? This is a consideration for us as we link to some popular search results on our sites. Thanks!
