Do Your Social Metrics Such As Tweets Transfer With a 301?
-
Got asked this today, and I don't know the answer, so throwing it out there to all your mozzers!
If I 301 redirect a page that has built up a lot of tweets, likes, shares, even +1's, does that social data get transferred over to the new page in as far as social strength/ authority is concerned?
Would Google still be able to see the previous version of this page had x amount of tweets etc, and take this into consideration when ranking the new page?

Happy to help!

Awesome, thanks Jennifer.

Sadly the answer is no if you only do a 301. Mike King recently wrote a great post on Search Engine Watch though that walks you through how to make it happen: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2172926/How-to-Maintain-Social-Shares-After-a-Site-Migration.
Hope that helps!

Im not 100% sure but I would assume no. For google +1 the user must +1 each individual page(s) so the metric is on the page level. with face book and twitter those are also directed at individual pages unless it is ur actual company page. my logic says no but i could be wrong. hope his helps

What is a good benchmark social share rate?
What is a good benchmark social share rate? Does a benchmark exist? For instance, on a Zillow home profile, what % of people share that home listing on social media? Or on a NY Times article, what % of people share that article on social media? Thanks.

Calculating a combined follower score for social media
I'm working on a set of social media metrics for a client, and thought of doing a follower score - sort of like a combined influence rating of all the user's followers. Has anyone done something like this before on Facebook or Twitter? Also, what would be an effective way of creating this score?

Reporting social media metrics
We're currently looking to do some reporting for Social Media. Anyone know the best place (possibly that's free) that can easily provide the following basic metrics for a social media campaign over a previous month period? FB likes FB comments FB shares Twitter retweets Twitter replies Google + (+1s) Google + comments Whether it covers these and/or other social media metrics, any good reporting tools out there that you know work really well would be appreciated. Thanks.

How can i make our social network site rank higher?
Our site is currently not in the first 3 pages of Google. it is a social networking site that requires users to login/ register. Much of the content is therefore user generated and is as diverse as the users themselves. The problem is that SEOmoz crawler is not even picking up the keywords i inserted into the site. Does this mean that Google is not even picking them up as well? Our site is www.yookos.com

B2B Social Media Creeping
I recently posted an (insightful) comment in a LinkedIn group. I can see that someone from this group has taken a look at my profile, so I'm assuming that they read my comment and they were at least a little intrigued as to who exactly I was. I would regard this person as a prospect. Maybe a slightly unlikely prospect as there's a couple thousand miles that separate us geographically. I'm wondering what sort of etiquette/best practices there are for connecting somehow with this person/company. Initially I thought I'd follow them on Twitter, maybe like them on Facebook, but they have no such presence. I like the idea of connecting with them that way because it's a 'soft' connection - not too aggressive. Doing something like emailing or calling and saying 'Hey, saw that you looked at my LinkedIn profile', seems creepy & desperate. Even sending an invitation to connect seems a little too forward. I feel the only thing to do is to continue to involve myself in this group by posting thoughtful & insightful comments in order to get noticed further that way.

Automating the brainless tasks of Social Media Management
I'm talking about Scheduling Tweets Scheduling FB Updates I'm sure I'll be pointed to some good resources for the above but what I really need is a tool that allows me to sort out queries/complains/requests that I would need to pass on to my client. Something that lets me tag a comment and gathers it with complete data like user name, time, comment etc. Does something like this exist?! Similarly, something that allows you to filter words that should be treated as spam. Also, suggestions on what other "brainless" tasks of SMM should be/can be automated would be appreciated. Regards, Edit: No responses as yet! Whats up Mozzers?

Social Media
Hello, How much weight do links from social media carry for seo? We are trying to develop a social media package for a client and we are unclear as to how much time to dedicate to SM every month and we would like some opinions. Thanks!
