Commenting on blogs articles
-
Hi All,
I have joined a new company and I am supposed to post relevant comments to blog articles. In the comment I want to provide them the source like
-
example
which of the above 3 will give me the maximum benefit with the backlinking.
-
You may also want to read the Beginner's Guide to SEO, especially the section on building links at http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo/growing-popularity-and-links.
-
If you're going to spam then use www.example.com because if that anchor text gets suppressed no one is typing that in anyway to find you.
-
And many have community managers that will ban people for comments with links if that appears to be the main reason for commenting on a post. I ban several each day here at Moz.
-
Its also important to note that practically all blogging platforms NoFollow the links in the comments.
-
I think the first two will give you a link back as the third one isn't a url unless you use it as anchor text.
By the way, I wouldn't build links by commenting on blog posts because it may look like spam, I would rather focus on earning links with your content.

Does Google crawler understand & flag a blog post has text asserting sponsorship with dofollow outbound link?
I kind of know the answer, but just wanted to get some feedback from others. For the sake of argument, assume there are no other issues with the linking blog, such as: too many ads, thin content, etc. Question: If you make a payment for a blog post with a dofollow link, and in the blog post there is something to the effect of: "this post has been sponsored by..." Will Google crawlers detect that and flag that as an unnatural link?

Do any sub-domains act as Private Blog Networks?
Hi All, We can see now that Google rolled 2 unconfirmed algo updates this month and they are penalising spam links and sites which use Private blog networks; as said by some SEO experts. Do any sub-domains act as PBNs because of too much linking...like linking website pages from every page of sub-domains?

Are Links from blogs with person using keyword anchor text a Penguin 2.0 issue?
Hello, I am continuing a complete clean up of a clients link profile and would like to know if Penguin is against links from blogs with the user including keywords as anchor text? So far I have been attempting to get them removed before I go for a disavow. An example would be the work clothing comment at the bottom of: http://www.fashionstyleyou.co.uk/beat-the-caffeine-rush.html/comment-page-1 I am also questioning if we should keep any link directories, so far I have been ruthless, but worry I will be losing a hell of a lot of links. For example I have kept the following: http://www.business-directory-uk.co.uk//clothing.htm Your comments are welcomed!

Article Re-posting / Duplication
Hi Mozzers! Quick question for you all. This is something I've been unsure of for a while. But when a guest post you've written goes live on someone's blog. Is it then okay it post the same article to your own blog as well as Squidoo for example? Would the search engines still see it as duplication if I have a link back to the original?

If I were to change the geographic keyword such as "foreclosures in Dallas" on 20 related blogs to "foreclosures in Los Angeles" what would happen?
In other words I'm wondering if someone built up an internet presence for their company through multiple websites over the years and then decided to move to another part of the united states, would it work to change all the keywords to the new location? Would that work toward getting them ranked in the new area or would you have to create entirely new websites? Thanks guys.

Difference between Syndication, Autoblogging, and Article Marketing
Rands slide deck titled 10 Steps to Effective SEO & Rankings from InfusionCon2011 on slide 82 recommends content syndication as a method for building traffic and links. How is this any different than article marketing? He gave an example of this using a screenshot of this search result for "headsmacking tip discussion." All of those sites that have republished SEOmoz's content are essentially autoblogs that post ONLY content generated by other people for the purpose of generating ad clicks from their organic traffic. We know that Google has clearly taken a position against these types of sites that offer no value. We hear Matt Cutts say to stay away from article marketing because you're just creating lots of duplicate content. Seems to me that "syndication" is just another form of article marketing that spreads duplicate content throughout the web. Can someone help me understand the difference? By the way, the most interesting one I saw in those results was the syndicated article on businessweek.com!.
