Content building: Ratio of blog messages?
-
What is a good ratio for publishing blog messages on our company website? Which ratio is "Panda-friendly"?
-
Wellness,
There is no "panda-friendly posting ratio" metric that a blog needs to follow. However, you should consider the overall engagement of the content you create and how more or fewer posts impact it. If, by creating more posts, your quality goes down and your engagement suffers, it's time to reduce your posts to the point where engagement for any post is above what it was for the previous post. Eventually you will reach an approximate equilibrium. That equilibrium is the number you are looking for and it is also the number you are looking to exceed with any particular post.
By the way, here's a nice article by Carrie Hill on ways to measure engagement: http://searchengineland.com/how-to-measure-content-engagement-effectiveness-with-analytics-wordpress-154198 , as well as pretty detailed slide deck by Mounia Lalmas from Yahoo: http://www.slideshare.net/mounialalmas/measuring-userengagement

There's no definitive reply to that question.
What you have to take care of is not posting one article a week for a few month and then nothing for 2 month and then back to 4 articles per week. Keep your posting consistent. Even if they are 100 a day. If the content is worth reading to your audience, then you don't even need to care about "panda".

Where to promote a blog post?
I want to promote a blog post with the littlest invested time. It's not something I need to get ranked high. Just wondering what is the most efficient method or service to broadcast it out there with at least some chance of driving some traffic (other than "just let Google index it") 😉

Blog on domain or sub-domain
Hi, I am looking to incorporate a blog that currently sits on another domain into my site. I am not sure whether to do this as part of my domain or as a sub-domain e.g. mydomain.com.au/blog blog.mydomain.com.au I can see the benefits from an SEO perspective for both but just wanted some advice on the best way to go.

Is it important to stick to a schedule when posting blogs?
I was watching the Mozinar titled: "From Nothing to Expert: How to Blog like You Mean It" and Tanner mentions that he does not stick to a schedule when posting blogs. There will be days or even a week go by where he does not post anything because he has not found a topic worth writing about. I was under the impression that it was important to post blogs at the same time everyday, or on the same day every week. Does sticking to a regimented schedule not have benefits anymore? Are there any negative or positive effects of sticking to a schedule?

Should a business blog be on a separate site or on the ecommerce site itself?
Hey there. I'm a new Pro member and this will be my first question on the Q&A. Thanks in advance for your responses. I'm the owner of an ecommerce site that sells custom candles. www.prometheancandle.com in case anyone wants to take a peak. I've become somewhat of an expert on all-things-candles over the past 4 years and I am thinking about starting a candle related blog. My question is this. Should I build this blog on the ecommerce site itself, say @ www.prometheancandle.com/blog.php, or should I devote a separate site to answering candle related question, history of candles, etc? At first, I was thinking that the blog should remain on the ecommerce site so readers would have easy access to the shop to be able to purchase products. But then it occurred to me that people who may be interested in reading up on candle history, candle making, meditation & candles, etc., may not want to go to an obviously ecommerce site to do that. I know Google values informational sites more than ecommerce sites (at least I think they do), so that encourages me to lean towards the separate site. Well, I may have just answered this question myself, but I'd definitely be interested to hear feedback and opinions. Thanks so much guys and I look forward to hearing from you.
