GA Stopped Recording Visits?
-
Looking at my GA stats today for one of my projects and its reporting 0 visitors in the audience overview yesterday - I know for a fact this is incorrect, using the real time viewer I tracked at least 40 people on the site yesterday in the few times I checked.
It is also saying 0 visitors today but from real time I can see solid activity all morning.
The code is all still present and correct on the page (which you would assume given real time still works), anyone else having weird issues today? It is only effecting 1 of 12 projects.

All my data's back! Looks like Google have sorted it out

good shout. I'm glad im not the only one - it means I dont have to worry I've done something daft!
-
Turns out you're not the only one, seeing lots of buzz around Twitter and also some reports in their forums: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-analytics-reporting-bug-17161.html obviously a bug in GA itself.

Hi Martijn,
Thanks for your response - this makes me feel much better, thank you! Roll on juicy data tomorrow.

Hi,
I've experienced this a couple of times for one of our sites the last couple of months. Sometimes it happens that there is a huge delay in the data processed by Google Analytics which may result in seeing your visitor data a couple of hours late. We saw the same behaviour as you did, in real time there were visitors but after 12 hours they were still not reported in the reports itself. If this problem still exists tomorrow then I would really start to worry ;-).
Hope this helps!

GA 4 Question
What differences are you typically seeing in Google Analytics 4 compared to UA? For one site I have, UA says there were 2,342 new users. GA4 says there were 1,899 new users for the same time period. Does that seem like a normal amount of difference between the two platforms?

Is GA Real-Time Locations Broken?
When I look at my real-time site traffic in GA, I'm seeing a lot of direct traffic from Montvale, NJ. However, when I go to the audience tab for today or any day in the past, Montvale doesn't even show up in the list of cities sending traffic. What am I missing here?

Can't identify the real source of a goal because subdomains in GA
Hello, I have one domain for my website (www.domain.com) where I receive all the new traffic and a subdomain (billing.domain.com) for the billing system. Im tracking both in Analytics. I have a goal (new order) configured in the subdomain -billing system-. But when I want to track the source / medium of the goals (new orders) in billing.domain.com, always appears my main website (www.domain.com) as the referral. Now I added in Analytics: Admin > Property > Referral Exclusion List, the www.domain.com and domain.com. Do you think that now I can track the real referrer of the goals? Or should I do a more complex tracking setup with Tag Manager ( https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/6106951 ) to pass the session cookies from a subdomain to another one, just to identify the real source / medium of the visitor? Thank you 🙂

Weird Math in GA Ecommerce Tracking
Hi everybody. I've recently discovered that I have a problem with the ecommerce tracking on a client's website. The client sells concert tickets at an average price of $10 per ticket. The custom ecommerce platform they use is kind of unusual; the same product often has different SKUs, but not always. This isn't associated with different seats, etc. In fact, I don't yet know why they've set it up that way. The problem that I'm facing is this: the data in Analytics is calculating the "average price" of a SKU item as the total price. If, for example, the actual average price for a SKU item is $10 and four of those SKU items were sold, Analytics will tell me the average price is $40. This means that the total revenue for that SKU shows up as $40 x 4 = $160. Needless to say, this is enormously skewing the data. Here's a screenshot. Note, it's the same product: http://screencast.com/t/JyLQkb3jzz6s The total revenue for ticket sales is way off because of this, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the ecommerce tracking code in Analytics, or something that the ecomm platform is doing. Have any of you experienced anything like this, and if so is it a fix in Analytics? Thank you!

Where should I insert the code when I track an event on GA?
hi mozzers, I am trying to setup my first event to count the numbers of downloads of an infographic(pdf file) we just created on GA and after some research I figured that I should add this piece of code (below) but where exactly? <colgroup><col width="386"></colgroup>

| _gaq.push(['_trackevent', 'PDF', 'Download', 'name of file']); | Should I put it just in between _gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'coit.com']); and _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); ? Please provide details because I ve never done this before Thanks 🙂0 -
Subdomain GA Tracking??
Hi Mozzers I am tracking a web property www.example.com and we are launching a subdomain.example.com. Should the subdomain tracked on GA by creating a new profile or should it be on its own with a new GA property ID? Thanks for explaining how to do that setup 🙂 Ty

I am showing no (not provided) visits in GA. Is that possible?
When reviewing Organic search traffic on my site, there no (not provided) visits. Not one. I searched for the term while viewing all keyword visits and still nothing! I find that hard to believe that is possible with 6,000 monthly visits. Is something wrong? Help?!

How Can I Record .zip Traffic in Google Analytics
The company I am with shows traffic coming in to .zip files in Google Analytics. The traffic being recorded stopped a while back, but I know people are still downloading/visiting these .zip ULRs. I'm not sure how they were recording/tracking the .zip URLs (in Analytics) before, but I'd like to track them once again. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks
