Real-time monitoring of web traffic
-
I used Woopra for the past year to monitor real time traffic to my websites but they recently dropped support for the desktop app and replaced it with a web app. As best I can tell the web app does not have the real-time alerts and other features that made the desktop app very compelling for me. Perhaps I don't fully understand how to use the new web app, but I don't find it particularly useful. Are there any other tools that provide good real-time monitoring of websites.
Best,
Christopher -
One that no one has mentioned is Olark. It is a website chat program. You can use pigeon to communicate with people, but it ups up an an alert every time someone lands on the site. It tells the user agent and a bit of information about them. Plus you can initiate a chat with them if you want to.

Depending on the data your after, GA have their real time feature. (visits, referrals, locations etc)

Also according to http://clicky.com/compare/woopra (last updated June, 2013) says both seem to have desktop alerts with sounds etc. So it might be worth checking up with Woopra to see if they still might have this feature

Thanks for the quick response. This looks promising.

Higher rankings, low traffic
Hello There, My question is the following: How come my rankings are much higher than when I started with the optimization process (1 year ago) but my organic traffic is lower compared to the previous year (it didn't increase at all)? NB - I haven’t received any penalization and the keywords I am targeting are definitively searched and are the most important for my company. Thanks a lot 🙂

Time Spend on Site from Smartphone vs Desktop
On a website with a well optimized website for smartphones, how long time should one expect the average user spends on the website - from their smartphone - as a % of the time users spends from a desktop.

Example: if average user spends 10min on the site from a desktop, is 5min (50% of..) a decent number to expect? If anyone has any done any studies or have data on this, would be appreciated. thank you0 -
Using Google Analytics to See What Time of Day Visitors View My Site
Hi folks, My company has Google Analytics setup for all of our websites, but I am a bit stumped on something. Now, this may not be possible, but am I able to see what time of day visitors most frequently view my blog? I would like to optimize blog post publishing for when I know we have in influx of visitors, yet I cannot find this information on GA. Any input would be much appreciated. Regards,

Is it possible to know if visitor arrived at the web page via organic search and if so, show some content?
Hello, Is it possible to know if visitors are arriving at a web page via organic search? Background: We have a section of job description pages to explain typical tasks. These have very high bounce rate (some 100%), and I think people are confusing them with actual jobs. For example "stage designer". Many of those keyword we have very high rankings. I am thinking of having a small notice at the top of those page to say something like "if you are stage designer job, check out our job section". Thanks

Where are the best resources for Real Estate Internet Marketing?
I've done a bit of research, but I have yet to come across a list of highly respected marketers who focus on Real Estate...are there any must know sites or individuals who write on the topic regularly? Based on the Comp analysis we've done for a local boutique real estate firm, most of the competing link profiles are dirty...and we were hoping to get a more holisitic look at what works for the long term. Any push in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
