Rel=Publisher On Business Blog
-
Hello!
We were just wondering if we can add the Rel=Publisher on our business blog? We would like to have any of our blog posts that rank to have the small thumbnail/logo of our business similar to the way the rel=author tag works in the serps. All posts are published by our business and we would not like any of our personal pictures showing up.
Any help greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Do you have any other suggestions for a business that does its own blog posts but does not want our individual names or contact available to the GP?

You're not able to do the same thing with rel=publisher as you are with rel=author. Ann Smarty put together a great little slideshow on the differences. Its worth a watch: http://www.slideshare.net/seosmarty/relpublisher-versus-relauthor

Question about pruning your website/blog for SEO
Hey all, So I checked out "The What, Why, and How of Pruning Your Website for SEO" and recently read ahrefs well known article on seo strategy and both really focused on the idea of removing poorly performing pages on your site for an SEO boost. I've asked this question in a few different ways before but I was hoping to get some more insight into this. If my company's blog has thousands of posts going back 5 years, 99% of which only really had pageviews on the day of their release and then after that receive no traffic, direct or organic, am I better off getting rid of (301) 99% of these posts and only sticking to/improving important/performant posts? Does anyone know how other blogs/sites deal with these sorts of issues. Where one function of the blog is to provide informative articles and the other function to post little tidbits (with barely any copy and rapid relevancy decay rate) meant to promote interaction with the blog community (like polls or one line contest winner announcements). Is this an issue of misusing the blog? For example, should the blog just be used for articles and all contests etc. be moved to social media? Thanks in advance for your insights, Roman

Rel=publisher
Hi there, One of the things I want to get my department to do is pursue Google Authorship. I don't think assigning a person with rel=author is the best idea for us, so I am going with the rel=publisher option. Are there any other actions I should take - aside from having good content that will be +1'ed by Google - to ensure that I am taking full advantage of the benefits of having strong Google Authorship? Thanks,

Blog Comments
Hey guys, My question is about blog comments. I have them disabled on my blog simply because I didn't want to have to deal with them. I get reasonably good traffic to my blog (mainly from my facebook fanpage). Am I making a mistake by having comments disabled? What about WP Plugins like CommentLuv. Will having this enabled hurt my SEO? What if I make every comment need approval and keep the Spam out? And finally, does commenting on others blogs that do have CommentLuv enabled help? Thanks!

How to autofollow anyone who tweets/retweets my blog?
I'm not sure if here is the right place for this Q but since followerwonk is one of the SEOmoz tools, I thought I'd try. I want to autofollow anyone who tweets or retweets specific URLs (my blog posts on a large blog). Does anyone know how to do this? They often don't @mention me in the tweets, I just see them all on topsy. I get 50-100 a day and at the moment have been manually going through and following all those people. It's been a useful exercise so far to see what types of people are tweeting my stuff, but now it has got super tedious!

Best directory or subdomain for a blog
We are planning to set up a blog using wordpress to help improve domain authority and rankings. Is there a preferred site to put this? ie is it best to create a subdomain, or put it in the root directory or put it in a completely different domain? Or will there be no resulting difference ?

Google Plus Business Page
I'm curious to see if anyone has come up against this same thing and how Google will respond to it. I work with a franchise company that has hundreds of locations. The company has unique sub pages set up for each location and a Google Places listing for each location. My question is can I set up a Google Plus business pages for each location, with the same name (different address), and all within one gmail address. My concerns are that when you select "Local Business" as the category for the Plus page it asks for a phone number. Well, after I insert the phone number it accurately pulls up our Place listing. However, my concern is having multiple Plus pages with the same Name in the "basic info" section. Will Google Plus reject multiple pages with the same name? I also don't want to change the name on the plus page and then cause a duplicate listing created in Google Places, due to the same address different name connection. I suspect a merge between Pages and Places so I don't want to negatively impact my Place listings. Any thoughts on this or Franchise Plus Pages?

Google+'s +1 for business....
I'm thinking (and I could be wrong) that eventually the number of people that have +1'd a site will begin to impact search results. After all, it is Google's platform. What are your thoughts on this? And do you know if having someone +1 your site is different than having them "follow" you or add you to their circles? Should a business have more followers or +1's?
