Not many pages being indexed on google
-
Hi
I am putting in to Google:
site:www.mysite.com
to see the pages listed on Google - the figure Google is coming back with is much lower than the actual pages, I have no crawer warning etc...
What could the problem be?
Thanks

PM me a link and I'll take a better look.

The problem is the sub pages...It is a portal which lists property by country/city/area.
We are listing for www.xxxx.com/uk/ and www.xxxx.com/usa etc etc...
However, when we drill down to .com/uk/5-bed-shropshire-property etc...here is where the problem is, Google is going so far then not indexing the database driven pages with actual unique listing on - although all the upper pages are fine...
-
Lots of possible things at play here - hard to say without more info.

New site hasn't been crawled yet?
-
Duplicate content across multiple pages?
-
Duplicate content across your site and other sites.
-
Noindex, nofollow.
-
Blocked in robots.
Again, lots of reasons...

Buffer Link and Google Impressions
Afternoon, I noticed a spike in impressions over a couple of days in April, so I investigated Analytics to see where these were coming from. It appears these impressions were split between two URLs; one was a blog post, the other was the Buffer link to the blog post that we used on Twitter and Facebook. According to Analytics, this Buffer URL received 1000 impressions over two days, with an average SERP position of 16. This surely can't be right, can it? Is this just another Analytics quirk? After two days of a decent amount of impressions to this Buffer link, the amount of impressions dropped to pretty much zero. I know Tweets are now starting to rank, but this would be the Twitter URL, not the Buffer link to our blog post? Any ideas, Cheers, Lewis

Google webmaster tools hiccup?
Our flagship website, up until March 16 was getting 1600 impressions and 300 branded clicks per day as per GWT. After 3/16, branded search fell to 300 impressions and 25 clicks per day. Our rankings haven't changed, and neither has our traffic. We would definitely notice the decline in GA and Core Metrics, and it is running about the same. according to GWT, 75% fewer people started searching for our brand on 3/16, but all of our other metrics are indicating otherwise. Has anyone seen this before? Is it a tracking issue on our side?

Determining Exact Reverse Path in Google Analytics
Within Google Analytics does anyone have suggestions for how to determine the exact reverse path for a product purchased? The goal funnel does not provide in a detailed way, especially if a step is taken out of the exact funnel provided. If this information cannot be obtained through Analytics is there another tool we can use to get the exact path?

Page Rank Decline in Webmaster Tools
Hello Forum, My team and I just got through completely redoing an eCommerce website for a yoga company and I noticed that in Google Webmaster Tools our site's average daily position changed from ~25 to ~40 in the last 5-6 days (during this time period we submitted our sitemap). I exported the Webmaster Tools results and found a high number of new keywords (which weren't there pre-launch) related to yoga. However, these keywords are not related to the products we sell. Several of these keywords have positions of 240 or higher and are skewing our avg page rank. These terms include words like "cricket logo," "animal yoga," "dog pose," "cat yoga," We did move our blog into our domain name now and there are some articles related to animal poses. Any thoughts as to what may be going on? Thanks!

Does using Google URL Builder override original source in Google Analytics?
During a free trial on Tatango, we send daily emails to customers to give them advice, resources, etc. We started using Google URL Builder http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=55578 to create individual links in each of these emails, but when the customer purchases a subscription now, the source in GA isn't Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. they are all showing up as the source we created using the URL builder for each email. Does Google URL builder override the original source in Google Analytic?
