I need an SEO Specialist to take a look at a few things for me
-
I need to hire an SEO specialist technician to take a look at a few things under the hood that I can't seem to figure out... is this the right place to ask for this type of paid help?
-
Thanks Keri, I figured that
Btw, you guys are great here at Moz!

Hello Salman,
Moz staff does not step in to delete questions unless there has been obvious spam or someone's privacy has been violated. Deleting a question is unfair to everyone who volunteered their time to write an answer, only to have their work (and moz points) removed.
It's best to be cautious and only say as much as you are comfortable with saying in the first place.

Hi Federico... I didn't do a good job at explaining in more detail, but we are doing ongoing SEO... we just ran into a specific problem that we never encountered before, so we were looking for someone that had technical SEO experience that would be able to help us.
Having said that, I completely agree that every site should perform SEO on a continuous basis (i.e. monthly contract or some type of internal SEO initiative - or a combination of both).
-
You may also go public and ask your questions here, you would be able to figure it out by variety of comments.
upon resolution you can edit and remove your personal information, or may request staff to delete!
-
I agree that ideally SEO should be a continuous process, but certain issues can be rectified or improvements made to websites that will have a positive impact long after the initial time it takes to make any changes.
My advice would be to ask a couple of questions here on the Moz forum to see if we can help you out.
If you do decide to hire an SEO, Google has some advice here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35291?hl=en

Hi Fedrico. I agree with you when the need is for ongoing SEO work. But the original poster said:
_..._hire an SEO specialist technician to take a look at a few things under the hood that I can't seem to figure out...
Which I understand to mean he has a couple of puzzling technical issues he needs help with. Those can sometimes be straightened out quickly.

Gregory, unfortunately, if you would like to succeed you will "need" those monthly contracts. There's no way to have success with short term contracts. If a company offers a "1 month SEO boost" you can be almost sure your site will be ruined the very next month you see a boost in your rankings. SEO should be done for the long run.
Moz lists there several companies, some do offer services only for large businesses but some do also offer for small businesses. Just need to do some research and ask for quotes.
-
From the research I did, the "recommended companies" on the Moz list are all fantastic, but are all geared towards working with large business on long monthly contracts.
If you just need some quick help I suggest doing this:
-
do a few searches here for terms related to your issue
-
check the profiles of those responded with intelligent answers - some of them will be with small SEO agencies
-
contact them, explain your problem, and ask for a quote to resolve it
Good luck!

Hi,
You can check the list of recommended companies Moz created here: http://moz.com/article/recommended
Hope that helps!

# Tag - opacity and SEO impact
Hello,
Technical SEO | | Tiffany_Barn
I have a query animation 'fade-in-up' on my website: tiffanybarnard.com which moves the H1 tag slightly and fades it in from zero opacity to 1. Will this affect the SEO value of the H1 tag?

What Can I Do To Improve The SEO of My Site?
We have a website that is ranking okay but we can't seem to get past #6 or #7 for a specific national keyword, "self storage software". We are working on a more effective back-linking strategy right now, but we really are having a hard time identifying steps to take besides that. If anyone can help me out and give me some suggestions I would be very appreciative. Maybe even seeing a competitive analysis from someone else would help catch something that I am not seeing. Website is www.storageunitsoftware.com Thanks in advance.

Some SEO 2016 questions
Hello MOZ Community, I have some questions where the following is still working for seo in 2016: Is an exact keyword in the domain still a good start? If a domain contains the most important keyword does one still need subfolders with that keyword in the url? Do you need multiple subpages so the main url becomes stronger? Is linkbuilding still the number one factor? Thank you for your thoughts!

Pop-ups ok for SEO?
Are unintrusive pop-ups okay or is Google likely to impose a black mark? I'm not talking about making people stay on the site, just talking about little one corner pop-up for a special offer. An example would be an embedded live chat pop-up. Have you had any experience?

It looks like a linkfarm
Hello, I have 15 online shops owned by one company and the web developer put in the header of each website a link to the 15 other sites. It looks like a link farm but they are all for one company. And in some shops we have a huge number of products i.e. huge number of outgoing links to other shops, like a total of a million outgoing follow link to the other 15 online shops.Yes we have it almost 2 years ago and we didn't get penalized by Google and it seems that Google discovered that all are owned by one company. My questions are:1- Will we be penalized in future by Google if they think that they are a kind of spam links?2- What will happen if I changed these links to no follow links? Or if I removed them from the header?3- Do these outgoing links effect the ranking?4- Does PR is still a metric to Google since they calculate it depends on a formula based on the incoming and outgoing links? Thanks in AdvancedHousam Smadi

SEO Terms for Internal Vs External
Hey there! I am writing up an SEO plan for our company and wanted to get the groups input on the use of some SEO terms. I need to organize and explain these efforts to nonSEO people. I usually talk about, SEO in terms of "Internal" vs "External" efforts. Internal SEO efforts being things like Title Tags, Description Tags, Page Speed, Minimizing errors, proper 301 redirect, content development for the site, internal linking and anchor, etc. External SEO efforts being things like Link building, social media profile setups and posts (FB Twitter Pinterest, YouTube), PR work. How do you split these out? What terms do you use? Do you subdivide these tasks? What terms do you use? For example, with Internal, I sometimes talk about "Technical SEO" that has do to with making sure that site speed is working well, 301s are setup correctly, noindex tag etc are all used properly. These are things that different versus "On Page" efforts to use keywords properly etc. I will also use the term "Site Visibility" for non SEOs to explain the technical impact. For example, if your site has the wrong robots.txt, if you have 500 errors everywhere and a slow site, if you are sending spiders down a daisy chain of 301s, it is difficult for the key parts of your site to be found and so your "Visibility" to the engines are poor. You have to get your visibility up, before you begin to then worry about if you have the right keywords on a page etc. Any input or references would be appreciated.
