Drop in Domain Authority and MozTrust -> -20% in traffic?
-
Hello Everybody,
with the latest seomoz index update for OSE my website had a big drop in Domain Authority and MozTrust and at the same time a drop in SEO traffic. It seems to be a correlation between the drop in the Seomoz metric and SEO traffic, infact from the 9th of August we lost the 20% of traffic (the 2nd of august our DA and MT was normal, the 15th Seomoz show the drop).
Unfortunately it seems that this trend is valid only for my website and not because of a Seomoz index error: my competitor still have the same DA and MT.
I will check for sure if, with the next index update, there will be some change in DA or MT, anyway which are your suggestion? How can I know what has happened to my link profile and the cause of this big change?
Advice are welcome!

The obvious answer (but not necessarily the correct one) is you lost some important links pointing to your website somewhere. This would cause a drop in your metrics, and could cause a corresponding drop in your organic traffic.
I might run a check with Majectic to look at your historic backlink profile, and also Google Webmaster tools Impressions report, to see if it matches the drop in traffic you've found.
Are you aware of any links that you've lost? You can comb through your referrer data in Google Analytics to see if any good sources suddenly dried up in the weeks/months leading up to the drop.
On the other hand, it could all be coincidence. The drop in DA could be a random event caused by the Mozscape crawlers simply missing an important set of links, which happens occasionally. And the drop in rankings could be due to an algorythm change (Check the Google Algo Update History to see if any of the dates match up)
If you find any missing links, you can work to regain them. Otherwise the only way back is probably to build new, better links.
Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO!

if you want to double check your information you can try using some of the tools below. I would put most of my stock in SEOmoz however you may want to do a trial to see if all the data matches. I am not at all saying that there's something wrong with the information you are given however using all of these tools the same ones I use in combination with SEOmoz seems to be the best way of getting a full 360° look at my websites.

I though this might sound funny but look at all the excellent tools in SEM Rush partners

I hope I was of help to you.

Site dropped from SERP
Hello, I've been ranking a site for the last 5 months with good success, ranking on the first page for a high traffic keyword. In the beginning of September however, my site completely dropped out of the SERPs for several of those keywords yet my site was still indexed and there was no penalty applied to my site via search console. I would assume this maybe because of the update during the time.My site came back again a week later and it was ranking much higher on the first page (#2). Today, I just checked the SERPs and my site is now gone again. It was there this morning but now as of two hours ago it is gone, as well as one of my main competitors. My site is still indexed and no penalties via search console. Does anyone know what causes these types of issues? Im assuming my site will come back in a week or so with hopefully the same or better ranking, but when I have disruptions like this it really hurts my organic traffic. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

How to track my actual traffic source using Google Analytics which are now showing as referral traffic?
Hi Mozzers, I went through many Q&As in the community this morning. I found a solution where I could just remove the referral site in analytics>admin>property>tracking info>referral exclusion list. So I removed paypal.com which was the main referral traffic. I thought the problem is solved. Later today I got another order, now the referral traffic is from eway.com, now what? Yes I know I will add this to the exclusion list but there will be many more referral sites. My main concern is I am not able to track the actual traffic source. How do I do that? 1. Do I need to use google url tracking for all my pages?

2. Do I need to add tracking code in each page of the site?
3. Is there a way to track the actual source of this traffic, now that the transaction is already made but reflects as referral traffic in Google Analytics? jZjTN0 -
Crawl rate dropped to zero
Hello, I recently moved my site in godaddy from cpanel to managed wordpress. I bought this transfer directly from GoDaddy customer service. in this process they accidentally changed my domain from www to non www. I changed it back after the migration, but as a result of this sites craw rate from search console fell to zero and has not risen at all since then. In addition to this website does not display any other errors, i can ask google manually fetch my pages and it works as before, only the crawl rates seems to be dropped permanently. GoDaddy customer service also claims that do not see any errors but I think, however, that in some way they caused this during the migration when the url changed since the timing match perfectly. also when they accidentally removed the www, crawl rate of my sites non www version got up but fell back to zero when I changed it back to www version. Now the crawl rate of both www and non www version is zero. How do I get it to rise again? Customer service also said that the problem may be related to ftp-data of search console? But they were not able to help any more than .Would someone from here be able to help me with this in anyway please?

Help. Recently my organic traffic has dropped 40%. Any advice / ideas?
Lately my organic traffic has dropped significantly as well as my adsense revenue. The moz report says, for example, my traffic is down 40%, but I a still #1 for that keyword. Also, in the last week, suddenly my number of indexed pages doubled. We had done some page rewriting and maybe messed that up. We've fixed that though. Webmaster tools is still picking up all of our old pages and the new ones. Background: We recently launched our new responsive website in March. March income was about the same as February. April dropped off suddenly (maybe late march - no sure) When we changed site, we did do 301's for all the old pages to the new ones Any ideas or advice as to why my traffic and revenue has dropped off so sharply? Never submitted questions before - not sure if I am supposed to put urls here so if you just google Home Spelling Words - that's my website. Thanks everyone!!!

Sudden SERP drop?
I'm wondering why my mainpage of my site just disappeared from google while a post from my site ranks at #11 on google. I currently only have 1 .edu backlink to it and the anchor text is my url site : http://www.domain.c0m What is the meaning of this? I checked my on page optimization and I got an A. The only problem I saw with my site was keyword stuffing on the homepage because my posts contain the keyword and its listed 26 times on the homepage but that shouldn't be the problem.

Domain taken. Which is better? Using hypens or longer domain.
I am wanting to set up an e commerce site and the domain name that I want is taken. I am considering using a domain that has the main keyword I want to rank for as the domain. I have heard chatter of google penalizing these types of sites and it seems that it hasn't come about. This is something that I would like to test out. So if "electricscooters.com" is taken, should I use "electric-scooters.com" or "electricscooters4less.com" Just wondering if the hyphenated or the longer domain will rank higher. The site won't be spammy at all, I will carry a few different companies that offer similar products. So for this case, I would only sell scooters from a few different manufacturers. Feedback would be appreciated!

My Domain Authority is high but don't rank in serps
So i'm a beginner/intermediate SEO and uptil about 3 weeks ago i enjoyed Top 3 rankings for all my keywords(VIrtual Assistant,Virtual Assistants, Virtual Personal Assistant,Virtual Personal Assistants and so on) for my site www.247VirtualAssistant.com. All of a sudden i dropped in rankings and can't figure out why. I ran a link analysis and nothing looks like it changed, in fact i still command much higher domain authority than my competition, but i'm stuck on the bottom of the 2nd page. I can't tell if i'm being penalized, if the other sites all of sudden just outperformed me or something else is happening here. I've also noticed a lot of "dancing" in my serps, I've been in 2nd last position on the 2nd page, then 1st of the third page, then last on the 2nd page and so on. Can someone please help me make sense of this?? Thanks! Thomas, a very confused an desperate website owner
