Why there is sometimes A-1 in Local result title?
-
Here is an exemple: https://plus.google.com/local/Montréal, QC/s/a-1?hl=fr
Is this a legacy from Yellow Pages? A way to be first in the paper edition or it's something else?
-
You've got it. This is businesses attempting to be listed first in alphabetically-organized directories, like the Yellow Pages. Doesn't work for Local, unfortunately:)
-
Just to expand on what Vadim has said, this is (mostly) people trying to be a little sneaky when it comes to being listed in directories that favour alphabetical listings. You might find the odd one that is genuine and does have an "A1" in the business name, but you will find that there are those that don't as well.

"Great Steak! Great fun! A.1.!"
Semi-creative way of saying you are #1, and that you want to be listed first on an alphabetical order directory

Disconnect MOZ Local and Google My Business
I've had problems with one of our eight branch locations when I connected GMB to Moz Local about a year ago. The location was suspended for being a duplicate. I would like to sever the connection so I could keep Moz Local live but at least temporarily delete the suspended Google My Business. Also, if you might have any guides or tutorials on performing this task it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How do I treat multiple buildings on the same college campus on Google for local SEO?
Should I delete them? Simply give them a different address like "City, State, Zip"? I see the benefit of having key buildings on campus in Google Maps, but I don't want those to affect my accuracy score and, thus, my local rankings for SEO.

How does Google choose the photo added above a Google+ result?
When I do a brand name search for a client, it pulls their G+ info into the right side bar and it adds three images above the G+ info. One is a photo, one is the Streetview, and one is the Google Maps results. On this particular client, the photo being pulled is from Google Images and not from the G+ page. Their G+ page is verified and has 17 photos in it, none of which are this particular photo. Please advise.

SEO Google local listings
Hello We've recently started a campaign for a local business, and now the domain authority and the number of links to the site are equal if not more to all local major competitors (bar one) and organic rankings for relevant terms are increasing well... However we still do not appear in the google local listings, despite having a verified location business account - fully set up and active and linked to the website. Does anyone have any advice for increasing local rankings? Thanks in advance kind mozzers

Actions to take when client is missing local SEO usernames and passwords
Hello, I'm doing an SEO analysis for a company and they told me that they do not have their local SEO usernames and passwords that they have already done. They did about 20 local directories and switched business models and needs to correct them without the usernames and passwords. I do not specialize in local SEO, and I would simply start from scratch, but what else can I tell them about doing a good job rebuilding with a new business model without the 20 usernames and passwords. Thanks, Bob

Local SEO: Creating a Second home-based business?
I'm in a bit of a pickle, here's the issue: I have a home-based business with a physical address. I plan on starting another home-based business at the same physical address. I only have one phone (cellphone). I plan on operating both businesses unless one completely eclipses the other. I can probably see your head spinning right now . . . how big of NAP issues are we looking at? I own my house, I could probably add a line to the new business address (like a suite # or something) I can afford a landline or secondary cellphone if necessary Any thoughts, ideas, criticisms, direction, hate-mail, or solutions?

Which Local Listing to Delete?
A local business has two Google+ Local listings: an unverified unclaimed listing an unverified, but claimed listing Both are duplicates with correct address and phone numbers. Listing 1 ranks. Listing 2 doesn't rank. Should I: A) report listing 1 and verify listing 2, or B) claim and verify listing 1 and delete listing 2 With A there's a risk of killing a listing that's ranking well and not getting a replacement. With B there's a chance of going against Google guidelines, as I understand claiming duplicate listings is a no-no (?) Suggestions? Thanks!
