Need a keyword tool for the whole company
-
I alone cannot do keyword research on all of the online content that my company produces. There are about 10 publishing support teams who could do this research themselves, once trained, but I don't know which tool to suggest they use since they can't all use my MOZ login.
Right now, those who do any research at all are using Google Trends. Wrong answer, but of course they are used to Trends for their social campaigns.
Has your company dealt with this situation? I've looked at a few free keyword tools...each seems to have its plusses and minusses. **What would you recommend...either as a free tool or possible other workaround? **

Awesome - this would be great. While quite as user friendly as the Moz KW tool, it's a great option - thanks for clearing this up. Makes sense that it would be free, but a lot of things that make sense are not so.
BTW I talked to someone at Moz who said that they are working on a solution for enterprise-use of their tools -- multiple sign-ons or dashboards or such. Stay tuned, they said.
Thanks Vahe and EEE3

Vahe is correct. You don't need to have a PPC account to access the tool. Just a Google Account. You could also generate a gmail to be used by everyone for this purpose if people didn't want to create their own. Something like:
-
Tim,
From my understanding who has a Google Account and sign up to Google Keyword planner can use the tool for free.
Hence it can be something which can be used by all.

Thanks so much for this thoughtful reply - I'm checking out the moz blog links you offered.
As for the Google Keyword Planner, it is my understanding that that only exists within Adwords, and again this is not something I could really share access to 20+ people working on other teams. I could barely get access to our adwords account myself from our PPC manager.
Is there another way to access this, or a different version of the tool Google offers as a standalone? Yea, I wish so wish Google Trends was the answer but it ain't.
Thx

Hi TimDickey,
How about Google's Keyword Planner? https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner
Here are some additional resources with other tools too:- http://moz.com/blog/keyword-volume-tools

I recommend setting up a process doc that can be easily followed by anyone across the publishing teams. It will take some time, and also some updating as algorithms change. Make it a shared doc that everyone can comment on or ask questions on, but all the protocol for keyword research always has one main source point.
That way everyone is researching the same way and keeping your entire organization on the right track. You can also make it required training that they view specific tutorials/webinars, etc., that will better educate them.
Hope that helps! I'm sure you'll get some additional great feedback in other responses too. Best of luck!

Keyword Plan Of Attack
We have looked up our direct competitor to see what keywords they rank #1 for (aside from their own company name). We have narrowed it down to 3 that we want to focus on. Our plan is to build internal landing pages, external landing pages and beef up our content. Is that a good strategy to start or are we missing something?

Hi guys! Is there a tool (other than SEMRush) that can show you which keywords are ranking for Google Knowledge Graph? Thanks :)
I've also seen that you can get some data about this in Search Metrics but can't see where? Thanks for your help!

Keyword ranking stuck in neutral... Suggestions needed
Hi everyone. I wanted to make a post in hopes of getting some opinions on my next course of action when it comes to SEO. I have worked for my current company for 3 years and raised their keyword ranking from 39% to 55% (according to MOZ's keyword tracker). I did this mostly through improving on-page SEO for each keyword. I think the on-page SEO is as good as it can get? Just so you guys know there are 101 keywords they want to rank for nationally. We currently rank for 56. My current company has really starting to ask me more about the percentage we are at and they of course want it to grow (or show consistent growth) as time passes. Since May 2014 it seems to have fluctuated each week from 50% to 58%. Some other info: We are well known in our industry We post on social media almost every day We are at event trade shows We are a global company We have tons of ads in industry magazines etc. We have industry news sites write about us and link to us We are consistent with press releases (a few a month) With that being said, where should I go from here to get those number to grow? As I mentioned, my company is starting to look at these numbers more.

SeoMoz Keyword Tool
Hello All, Ive been using the SeoMoz Keyword tool but have a quick question. Im working on a newer site with a DA according to OSE of 35. Im combing through keywords to rank. Although competition is very high I have found a few holes. According to the Keyword tool in SeoMoz a few keywords Im looking at are roughly 50%. Would it be to difficult to rank for this type of term? Ive been using a combination of Google Trends, Adwords keyword tool, and ubersuggest, to try and see whats available. Does anyone use different tools? Thank you
