Hi, I have a doubt. If we want to hide unwanted text in a web page its possible with "" tag. And my question "does a search engine crawl those text? help me.
-
I want to hide a lot of text behind my site page. I know its possible with that tag. But in what way a search engine looks at those text? Hidden or they are crawled and indexed.
-
Yeah hiding keywords in your page is definitely not cool with Google. Many people do it by making the text the same color as the background. No one can see it, unless they highlight the area. Used to be effective, now it's just spammy and will get you banned.
-
What you have proposed in your question is using the comment tag, which is generally meant for comments to someone who is reading the source code of the page and working on the HTML of a website. For example, identifying that the following section is the Google Analytics script and please don't remove it.
If you want Google to see the keywords, you need to show your users the keywords.
-
The best idea maybe is write this keyword in your content with bolded text or insert in h1,h2,h3. Your need a logical content, not only keyword, your content need give some to your visitors. And adding some backlinks with your keywords variety to your website.
Try create some landing page with a specific keyword and link this page with your project principal page. I recommend use de moz One-page Optimization for gets more information.
Important don't hide text in your website

Hi,
I have lots of keywords. I know violations of google in hiding keywords behind a page using different ways. So, i want to go for another way which was apart from that. Is there any way to add more keyword excluding Alt tags, meta tags. And i have a lot text which we want to display periodically, so hiding text in that location is a best idea for us.

If the text is unwanted remove it completely from the page as this will improve fractional page load speed which does effect ranking. Having comments in your HTML other than for development reasons is pointless. Google will ignore anything commented.
-
Can you say why you want to hide this text? If you could give us an example, it'll help us help you a bit more.
-
you will not be penalized why that text is not indexed, it will be as a comment line in html (I think)
-
What you're trying to achieve is called cloaking, which will get your site banned - unless you decide to do it using comment delineators (as you mentioned).
If you do it using those delineators, good news! You won't get banned!!
(bad news though: you'll be totally wasting your time).

CAPTCHA Alternatives to Improve Page Load Speed
Recently I had to install reCAPTCHA on my site. The site contains domain name generators and they were being misused, in the words of my host: _Addition of a Captcha will go one of two ways - hit the bruting on the head as intended - OR it will increase the load and the impact by rendering the Captcha's. _ Have noticed that reCAPTCHA adds a fair amount of code 32% of page size and 5 requests. I want to replace reCAPTCHA with an alternative, has anyone got any ideas? Cheers. Justin

How to avoid duplicate title tags?
I've got roughly 1200 location pages for a travel client. Since the business does the same thing at every location, the title tags and descriptions are almost identical except for the location name. I know Google likes tags and meta descriptions to be unique, but how many different ways can I write the same title in a 55 character limit? For example, here's how the titles look: Things to do in San Jose, CA | Company Name

Things to do in Dallas, TX | Company Name
Things to do in Albuquerque, NM | Company Name **My question: Are 1200 title tags structured this way unique enough for Google? ** I have got the same problem with the meta descriptions, but I can vary those a bit more because i have more characters to work with. Thanks for your input,

Can someone help me understand Structured Data?
So I'm wondering if someone could explain Structured Data a little better to me and what the importance is. I also am wondering how to best add Scheme.org markup to certain pages. I tried a plugin for wordpress and I don't think it was working correctly. I'm specifically wanting to make sure my Google Profile is showing with my website in SERP. I have the ?rel=author tag in on the front page and when I checked it when the Google Structured Data checker it shows it to be correct but its not displaying in SERP. Thanks!

What seo benefit does setting up a photo gallery where each photo is a separate web page?
what seo benefit does setting up a photo gallery where each photo is a separate web page? My old SEO guy set up my photo gallery like that claiming that because each photo was a separate page, it added a big seo benefit and i never understood what he was talking about. Maybe alt text on the photo with key phrases in it pointing to my other pages to give my site a theme for google? I'm not really sure. He has since moved away and i am considering redoing the photo gallery to multiple images on one page to be more user friendly to my users. This photo gallery is 3 years old and the photos might have some page rank to them helping my site so i don't want to remove this gallery if there really is a benefit to it and it will hurt my site. I once removed four static page rank 3 pages from my site that weren't used for my site anymore and my rankings dropped 5 positions. Thoughts anyone? Thanks! Ron

How does the toolbar caclulate text to code ratio?
I am seeing some very weird text to code ratios on a competitor site (over 100%) through the Analyze feature on the SEOmoz toolbar. I'm wondering how that's calculated, and what my competitors might be doing to raise that ratio so high artificially. I need to turn in a report on this soon, any help is greatly appreciated!! EHR
