Any idea why this page isn't indexing?
-
Hi Mozzers,
Question for all of you. Any idea why this page isn't indexing in Google? It's indexing in Bing, but we don't see it in Google's results. It doesn't seem like we have any noindex tags or anyway issues with the robots files either.
Any ideas?

Hi there,
I see the page indexed when searching for its URL: http://i.imgur.com/dhCnlqK.png
However, there is a huge amount of duplicate content when looking at the leading text on this page: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22We+have+exciting+plans+in+place+for+supporting+our+students+and+are+committed+to+a+high+level%22&oq=%22We+have+exciting+plans+in+place+for+supporting+our+students+and+are+committed+to+a+high+level%22&aqs=chrome..69i57.613j0j9&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8
As such, Google could well be filtering this page when it comes to more competitive searches, as it sees the same content over and over again. Have you noticed the URL being completely de-indexed and not appearing, even when searching specifically for the URL?

I can confirm what you've said and mentioned in your comment.
My first thought is perhaps Google is choosing not to index it because it finds it too similar to these other sites-
Those sites are ranking for the phrase "ohio virtual academy" but not the one that is the subject of this question (at least on the first few pages).
Additionally, you don't have many quality links to the domain which is another signal Google may be using in its decision.

It does seem that when you type in site:http://ohva.k12.com that it is indexing...so I'm a bit confused. In bing when you search for "ohva k12" the site will come up, but not within Google.

No Index thousands of thin content pages?
Hello all! I'm working on a site that features a service marketed to community leaders that allows the citizens of that community log 311 type issues such as potholes, broken streetlights, etc. The "marketing" front of the site is 10-12 pages of content to be optimized for the community leader searchers however, as you can imagine there are thousands and thousands of pages of one or two line complaints such as, "There is a pothole on Main St. and 3rd." These complaint pages are not about the service, and I'm thinking not helpful to my end goal of gaining awareness of the service through search for the community leaders. Community leaders are searching for "311 request service", not "potholes on main street". Should all of these "complaint" pages be NOINDEX'd? What if there are a number of quality links pointing to the complaint pages? Do I have to worry about losing Domain Authority if I do NOINDEX them? Thanks for any input. Ken

No Index No follow instead of Rel canoncical on product pages
Hi all, we handle our product pages no with rel canonical now, we have 1 url that is indexed http://www.prams.net/cam-combi-family the other colours have different urls like http://www.prams.net/cam-combi-family-3-in-1-pram-reversible-seat-car-seat-grey-d which canonicalize to the indexed page. Google still crawls all those pages. For crawl budget reasons we want to use "no index, no follow" instead on these pages (the pages for the other colours)? Google would then crawl fewer pages more often? Does this make sense? Are their any downsides doing it? Thanks in advance Dieter

Home Page or Internal Page
I have a website that deals with personalized jewelry, and our main keyword is "Name Necklace".

3 mounth ago i added new page: http://www.onecklace.com/name-necklaces/ And from then google index only this page for my main keyword, and not our home page.
Beacuase the page is new, and we didn't have a lot of link to it, our rank is not so well. I'm considering to remove this page (301 to home page), beacause i think that if google index our home page for this keyword it will be better. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but i know that our home page have a lot of good links and maybe our rank will be higher. Another thing, because google index this internal page for this keyword, it looks like our home page have no main keyword at all. BTW, before i add this page, google index our main page with this keyword. Please advise... U5S8gyS.png j50XHl4.png0 -
If I only Link to Page via Sitemap, can it still get indexed?
Hi there! I am creating a ton of content for specific geographies. Is it possible for these pages to get indexed if I only put them in my sitemap and don't link to them through my actual site (though the pages will be live). Thanks!

Getting Pages Requiring Login Indexed
Somehow certain newspapers' webpages show up in the index but require login. My client has a whole section of the site that requires a login (registration is free), and we'd love to get that content indexed. The developer offered to remove the login requirement for specific user agents (eg Googlebot, et al.). I am afraid this might get us penalized. Any insight?

We are changing ?page= dynamic url's to /page/ static urls. Will this hurt the progress we have made with the pages using dynamic addresses?
Question about changing url from dynamic to static to improve SEO but concern about hurting progress made so far.
