When buying used domains, how do i see the links pointing to that domain? OSE not showing links

when buying used domains, how do i see the links pointing to that domain? Sometimes the open site explorer doesn't show any links to the domain, especially if the domain is parked.
Obviously a domain for sale with 1000 domains linking to it has lots of SEO Value right?
Thanks mozzers!

ahrefs.com is another one, I think that finds backlinks a little faster. I generally check ahrefs, majestic seo, and OSE.

Archive.org basically shows you how the website looked in the past. Therefore, you can make sure that the new content is consistent with what visitors from referral sites are expecting. Do not plagiarize the old content though or your might get sued.
It's a risky tactic that you're using and definitely on the darker shade of gray. I wouldn't do it more than once or twice and make sure that the content is relevant.

Although this is a 2009 article, I still find it interesting : http://searchengineland.com/do-links-from-expired-domains-count-with-google-17811

i was going use that domain to start a new website in the same genre as the previous site and hopefully get a jump start on link building and get some traffic due to the links that were already in place to that domain. I wasn't planning on doing a 301 to my other sites but i was planning on linking to my other sites which are in the same genre as well. Does this sound like a good idea?
What exactly do i use archive.org for?
Thanks for your input!

You could try Majestic SEO and see if they show up there.
However, you need to be very careful when buying used domains with existing back links. What are you planning to use it for? If it's simply to 301 to your main site then you could be looking a manual action straight down the barrel. If you are planning on using it as your primary site, be careful that it doesn't already have a penalty.
Instead of who the links were from, have a look at what niche the old website served. If it is relevant, then you will have links from relevant websites and you might also inherit some relevant and diverse anchor text which will help. Use archive.org to have a look.

Do links from between common sites you run count as "bad" links?
Hi everyone,
Link Building | | AMA-DataSet
Iv recently been asked to review a group of sites. There are 3 sites, each of these sites has a link to the other two sites within the footer or the navigation.
These site are about a similar topic each provides a different perceptive or aims at a specific section of the industry so its not like the links are to irreverent sites. However because the links are in a global section they are repeated thousands of times on each site and count for a large proportion of the link profile to each site, I don't think this is good practise and I want to remove them or at least add a no-follow but my client insists they are relevant to each other and doesn't not want the links removing. What would be best in this situation? remove them? no-follow them? or leave them? Thank you in advance,

More "new" root domains or more pages on older domains?
I have been slowly building links via personal/professional networking, press from art shows, blogging, and such. I work with several non related domains & local blogs & press outlets, it is pretty easy for me to add a few new pages of content along with text links. Or should I just concentrate on getting links from totally "new" domains that have never linked to me before?

Domain Authority and nofollow links?
Hello, I'm wondering, are 'nofollow' links from websites with high domain authority beneficial? Would they boost our own DA? In essence, I'm wondering if there is added value (other than visitors clicking the link) to being linked to by a 'nofollow' link. Thanks!
