Duplicat contents on wordpress

I ran a crawl error and found that I have many pages with "tag"
i.e. http://www.soobumimphotography.com/tag/70-200-2-8-is/
What's the best way to deal with this problems?
Is it worth to visit all of them and fix? Delete?
Could you give me some suggestions?
-
Hi,
I had the same issue. After setting up SEO MOZ, fixing about 400 problems, on the next crawl (after installing wordpress and transfering all our old news items across for our blog) we had about 1,000 problems with duplicate pages (most blog pages were duplicated 50 times!!!.I've installed Yoast, had a quick go through (looks good), I think I've got it sorted
I'll check again after the next crawl and see if it works and report back.
It's interesting how this question is also asked in the Wordpress forums with no responses or silly comments about SEOMOZ being rubbish and not understanding how Wordpress works (or what not).

Thank you Streamline and Roque for answering!
In most standard cases, noindexing tags is what I advise. You can refer to two documents;

My post about safely de-indexing tags in WordPress

You likely have two because of the theme you're using. Noindex both tag sections.
-
Looks like there's two tags section
Should I noindex both of them?
Now sure why they have two tags and two categories.
Thanks again
-
Hi again! Nope. You need to browse to the titles and metas section, then taxonomies. You will find the option there, and mark no index follow. Volia!!
-
Yoast plugin is already installed.
So should I go to each of the pages and no follow?
-
The wordpress SEO by yoast has a feature to no index/ no follow (or both) tag pages.
Install the plugin and just mark those pages with a no index tag.
Ill add a screen capture but doing some search you will find lots of advanced tutorials to go deep with the plugin. Is worth to spend some time with because its really good!
Good luck!

I would suggest installing WordPress SEO by Yoast. It allows you to choose which pages you want to index. I usually index Categories and block Tags, but you can try one or the other.

Will I have duplicate content on my own website?
Hello Moz community, We are an agency providing services to various industries, and among them the hair salon industry. On our website, we have our different service pages in the main menu, as usual. These service pages are general information and apply to any industry. We also have a page on the website that is only intended for the hair salon industry. On this page, we would like to link new service pages: they will be the same services as our “general” services, but specialized for hair salons. My questions relate to duplicate content: Do we have to make the new individual service pages for hair salons with completely different text, even though it’s the same service, in order to avoid having duplicate content? Can we just change a few words from the “general service” page to specifically target hair salons, and somehow avoid Google seeing it as duplicate content? Reminder that these pages will be internal links inside of the hair salon industry page. Thank you in advance for your answers, Gaël

How to Handle duplicate pages/titles in Wordpress
The wordpress blog causes problems with page titles. If you go to the second page of blog posts it there's a different URL but with the same page title. for example: page 1: site/blog page 2: site/blog/page/2 Each page gets flagged for duplicate page titles. Thanks in advance for your thoughts,

Many have stolen our content. Rewrite vs. DMCA content removal?
Hello, We own a medical tourism website and many other sites have stolen (copied and pasted) our content. Our content is more than 2 years old, so we thought we could rewrite the content - but Which is a more wiser decision from you guys' experience? Archive our current content at a different URL and upload a fresh content in the current URL Claim our originality to Google and ask the stolen sites to remove our content. Thank you and appreciate your time.

Duplicate and thin content - advanced..
Hi Guys Two issues to sort out.. So we have a website that lists products and has many pages for: a) The list pages - that lists all the products for that area.
On-Page Optimization | | nick-name123
b) The detailed pages - that when click into from the list page, will list the specific product in full. On the list page, we perhaps have half the description written down, when clicked into you see the full description.
If you search in google for a phrase on the detailed page, you will see results for that specific page including 'multiple' list pages where it is on. For example, lets say we are promoting 'trees' which are situated in Manhatten. And we are also promoting trees in Brooklyn, there is a crossover. So a tree listed in Manhatten will also be listen in brooklyn as its close by (not from America so don't laugh if I have areas muddled)
We then have quite a few pages with the same content as a result. I read a post a while back from the mighty Cutts who said not to worry about the duplicate unless its spammy, but what is good for one person, is spammy to another.. Does anyone have any ideas as to if this is a genuine problem and how you would solve? Also, we know we have alot of thin content on the site, but we dont know how to identify it. It's a large site so needs something automated (I think).. Thanks in advance Nick0 -
Content by Country
Currently we have a news website aimed at several countries. We want to filter the content of some url (home, category pages, ...) using the country of origin of the visitor. For example in the home we've heard of global character, and a column with news of the country of origin of the visitor. This may affect the position or cause a Google penalty? thank you very much

Is this duplicate content okay?
We have a client who wants to rank locally, nationally and internationally for their products. I wrote a line that goes, "We can ship our products to you whether you’re here in Illinois, nationwide, or international." I added that line after a paragraph or two of unique product description on each of their 30-odd product pages. Will this damage their ranking? I tried researching this but only found full page duplicate content topics. Any advice would be great.

Geo-targeted content and SEO?
I am wondering, what effect does geo-targeted "cookie cutter" content have on SEO. For example, one might have a list of "Top US Comedians", which appears as "Top UK Comedians" for users from the United Kingdom. The data would be populated with information from a database in both cases, but would be completely different for each region, with the exception of a few words. Is this essentially giving Google's (US-based) crawler different content to users? I know that plenty of sites do it, but is it legitimate? Would it be better to redirect to a unique page, based on location, rather than change the content of one static page? I know what the logical SEO answer is here, but even some of the big players use the "wrong" tactic. I am very interested to hear your thoughts.

Duplicate Content
We offer Wellness programs for dogs and cats. A lot of the information is the same except for specifics that relate to young vs. senior pets. I have these different pages: Senior Wellness Kitten Wellness Puppy Wellness Adult Wellness Can each page have approx. 75% of the same text? Or should I rewrite each page so the information (though the same) appears unique.
