Why Moz New Users Are Left Alone?
-
New users when sign up to an application like Moz need concrete support to make them familiarized the basics at least, but Moz seems to be not realizing this hardship of the new users or intentionally ignoring it. There is no chat service or phone numbers to quickly contact the designated agent for some quick help. Mail responses that are received after much time have their limitations -- not much interactive. What the new users should do, because the Moz is not that simple for new users.

The Moz community is unexpectedly quick to respond, it seems like every body is worrying about each others concerns and helping to learn. Thanks Keri, Bryan,Ruben and altecdesign.
Cheers

Hi Tanveer-
I think you will find your experience posting in Q&A very positive and I suspect Moz does things the way they do to possibly foster some of that community involvement. I've found that almost any question I had related to Moz I could reach out to the community and get great answers (usually with responses in 10-15 mins on a question). The community at Moz is very large, very active, and very helpful.

Hi Keri,
Everybody has a different learning style. Some pick from written words, other from videos (that always leave the actual stuff to be taught) and some others from chat service or a walk through. I don't expect Moz helping me with SEO things but must tell the users how to use the application that Moz created with the help of so many people working at a pace convenient to them. If there is no user-convenient support its a wastage of time and frustration.

Hi, and welcome to Moz! Here are some of the resources we have that can help, and some answers to your questions.
Our help hub is at http://moz.com/help, and the getting started guide at http://moz.com/help/guides/getting-started is a great place to start.
We offer a series of onboarding emails to help with your site. In the first couple of days after you sign up for Pro, you should receive a message with several tips for improving your site with Moz Analytics.
Here's some background about why we don't have a help desk phone number anymore: http://moz.com/help/guides/moz-procedures/phone-support. As a side note, I've been in the help desk area when we did take phone calls, and there would often be phone calls that would last half an hour while we determined that what the caller was looking for was an SEO services company, and we wouldn't be able to help them, but it took considerable time away from valid help desk tickets.
For billing and account questions, we do have live chat available from that section of your profile.
We do know it's complex, and we're trying to help out new users by adding more getting started information. Thanks so much for your feedback!

Absolutely! Check out their facebook and shoot them a message. They always get right back to me!

I agree with you that it can be very frustrating in the beginning; it was for me a year ago. I also think it's a little absurd to not have a phone number, nor a chat for emergencies...unless you can promise a same day (within hours. really) email turn around...which they can't. However, most people in this forum can help you with the basics and you can ask an unlimited amount of questions, so that will help.
Another thing you can do is to ask Moz via social media. At least with me, when I really needed something addressed, it wasn't till I brought it up on Twitter that I got a response. It's the only way I've found to talk to Moz in somewhat real time.
Good luck and keep your head up! You'll figure it out.

Moz Pro for simple local seo status reporting
I have a new client on a small budget with a local yoga studio. There's been no SEO work on this site so far, so, after the basics, I plan to work through the items on this list: https://moz.com/blog/top-20-local-search-ranking-factors-an-illustrated-guide I'm a new Moz Pro user and am looking for advice on how to use Moz Pro tools with my client to review progress over time...a simple checklist of reports/metrics to share and track, and to use in weekly status reports. Or, in other words, how can I configure and use Moz Pro tools for basic progress tracking? This is not a sophisticated, SEO-savvy client, so I want to keep things very simple. Thanks for any ideas or pointers. Dave

Moz's official stance on Subdomain vs Subfolder - does it need updating?
Hi, I am drawing your attention to Moz's Domain basics here: http://moz.com/learn/seo/domain It reads: "Since search engines keep different metrics for domains than they do subdomains, it is recommended that webmasters place link-worthy content like blogs in subfolders rather than subdomains. (i.e. www.example.com/blog/ rather than blog.example.com) The notable exceptions to this are language-specific websites. (i.e., en.example.com for the English version of the website)." I am wondering if this is still Moz's current recommendation on the subfolders vs subdomains debate, given that the above (sort of) implies that SE's may not combine ranking factors to the domain as a whole if subdomains are used - which (sort of) contradicts Matt Cutts last video on the matter ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MswMYk05tk ) which implies that this is not the case and there is so little difference that their recommendation is to use whatever is easiest. It would also seem to me that if you were looking through the eyes of Google, it would be silly to treat them differently if there were no difference at all other than subdomain vs subfolder as one of the main reasons a user would use a sud-domain is a technical on for which it would not make sense for Google to treat differently in terms of its algorithm. I notice that in terms of Moz, while most of the site uses subfolders, you do have http://devblog.moz.com/ - and I was wondering if this is due to a technical reason or conscious decision, as it would seem to me that the content within this section is indeed linkworthy (as it has external links pointing to it from external sources), therefore it would seem to not be following the initial advice that is posted in Moz's basics on domains. Therefore I am assuming it is due to a technical reason - or that Moz's adive is out of date with current Moz thinking, and is indeed in line with Matt C in that it doesn't matter. Cheers

In Open site explorer the page title and Url show in the left hand column. Why do some of my pages have no data for page title?
I am a first time user. Newly updated site using Drupal and having lots of SEO problems. Under site explorer, several pages list NO DATA for the page title. This doesn't seem right. Any suggestions on what this means?

Is there a difference between Moz Pro and Moz Analytics?
I thought that Moz Analytics was now included with Moz Pro. Is this true? I have Moz Pro and I was using the beta version of Moz Analytics back in October. When I log into Moz Analytics, the latest data stops at October 27th and there is no data after that. Is that an indication of when my trial period ended? I have the basic Moz Pro, does that include Analytics portion? Thanks!
