Showing Button Clicked in Google Analytics - How to check which button has been clicked?
-
For my E commerce site in my google analytic in Event Action it is showing "Button Clicked" and Total Events 4005, so i want to know visitors have clicked on which buttons?
-
When you create event tracking, you can assign a category and label to each button that would help classify the clicks for easier understanding of user behavior.
Here is the code that I use
| onclick="ga('send', 'event', 'Category', 'Action', 'Label');" |
So if I had a category for shoes, action is add to cart and the label would be the specific shoe like Orange Adidas F-30 the code would look like this
| onclick="ga('send', 'event', 'Shoes', 'Add to Cart', 'Orange Adidas F-30');" |
When you view Events in GA, you can then see all up overview, or broken down by category, or action if there is more than one action and then the specific item.
It's a lot of manual work, I use Excel to help with the code by using the Concatenate formula.

You can also use the analytics heat mapping tool. It will show you how many clicks anything on your site is receiving. I added a Generator Sizing Calculator to my site and it told me how many clicks it was getting right away. It is pretty accurate too.

Hi,
Did you just use one event tracking code for all of your buttons on the website?
It's like giving links in a newsletter the same utm code and than trying to find out which item in the newsletter was clicked. I guess you could try and check on the full referral path as a second dimension. For future use of the event tracking try and use specific tracking labels to be able to reference to a certain button.
Good luck!

More 'New users' than 'Users' in Google Analytics
Hey Mozzers, I'm seeing more 'New users' than 'Users' in Google Analytics (see screenshot). This is over a 3 year time period. Any idea why new users would be greater than users? Thanks! 6lYmU0j

How do I exclude fake direct load traffic from networks in Google Analytics?
Starting on Friday 1/20, we noticed a huge, unnatural spike in Direct Load traffic. While researching where it was coming from, the big flags were huge spikes in countries that normally only have <5 sessions a month like Russia, Singapore, Brazil, etc., each sending 1400 a week, with >99% bounce rate and <0:00:05 average session duration. While looking into networks, we saw an influx in Networks that had never sent traffic before, each with >1300 sessions a week, 100% bounce rate, and 0:00:00 session duration. The list of these Networks are: astute hosting usa incorporated

Google Analytics
Good Morning, I am trying to understand 2 issues in Google Analytics. 1. When look at : Traffic Source --> SEO --> Quesrios - i see the impressions column and its always a whole number 1550, 500, 5500, etc.. I never saw (for example) 702, 313, etc... impressions Can anyone explain why and how does it work? 2. In the same report i see my AVG. position for each query, the question is how come i have AVG, position of (290, 230, 190) for some of the queries and still i get clicks on these queries. My guess is that from time to time these queries have better position and the clicks are from these time. Do you familiar with a way to the the distribution of a specific query over time? for example: 1.3.2013 avg position = 4 2.3.2013 avg position = 7 3.3.2013 avg position = 2 4.3.2013 avg position = 8 etc... 3. This report say its for: "Top 1,000 daily queries" - What does it mean? Thank you and sorry for this long question SEOwiseUs

Using Regex for Goals in Google Analytics
I’ve got a website with 20 different forms; and I’d like to track all 20 form completions with one Goal in Google Analytics. The completion-page URLs follow the pattern below (the website uses Drupal CMS) Form One: www.acme.com/node/2990/done?sid=651 Form Two: www.acme.com /node/2991/done?sid=785 Form Three: www.acme.com /node/2992/done?sid=1021 Form Four: www.acme.com /node/2993/done?sid=459 I believe that there is a way I can use regex so Google Analytics will track if any of these completion URLs appears. Looking for guidance how to format the regex statement.

Setting Up Google Analytic with Sub Folder Sites
What is the best way of setting up Google Analytic for a website that has many sub folders? The main site is example.com and it has 40 sub folder sites like example.com/uk example.com/France etc etc Would it be advised to track a single domain in Google Analytic then create filters for the sub folder sites. Filters > Include traffic from > Sub directories Also with this method is it possible to view overall incoming website stats for everything? Previous experience would be great with this thanks 🙂
