Do you get links from new websites?
-
There's a new industry specific website that looks decent. It's clean and nothing spammy. However, it's so new it's DA is under 10. Is it worth pursuing a link from a site like this? On one hand, there's nothing spammy and it is industry specific. On the other...it's just DA is so terrible (worse than any of our other links), I don't want it to hurt us.
Any thoughts?

Hi Ruben,
Grab the link.
Industry Link - Check
Potential to Send Traffic in the Future - Check
Potential to get your link/post there to rank so you have an extra spot in the rankings? - Check
That's enough for me.
Looking at PA/DA/PR/MR etc aren't really that important in this case, assuming your site's niche is in the boring (high money but typically boring) side. I'd go get a link and build a relationship which will work further in your favor in the future.

It is vague, but thanks for taking a stab at anyway. I don't really know all that much about it, so I'm still gathering intel myself.

I will disagree a bit on the overall direction of JV's post. Just because a domain / page is low value doesn't mean the link is in anyway going to hurt your site. If they are not considered to be a spam site the worst thing that can happen is they pass no value.
I am just a tad concerned about the general fear that Google has struck into the SEO community, bad sites are bad sties, low ranking sites are not necessarily bad sites. That distinction is important.
That said I would not do go out and do a naked chicken dance to get a link from said site, I just wouldn't say it isn't worth asking.

WAY too little info here to make a definitive counsel - but if you think - believe - know that this site will one day "be" a player in that channel - then I'd say YES! As it grows, so grows the link-juice you'd receive and the longer you're a "part" of that IBL type linking, you're going to be a happy camper.
That said - MONITOR it all the time - save the URL where the link is and then revisit it as should that site "go south" and lose any real value - it'd then be on that disavow list....this is good advice I believe for ALL IBLs...save 'em in Excel and then revisit to prove value....

Sure if the site looks good, I say go for it. Chances are if they spent the time to build a good website with good content, they are going places. Probably much easier to get a link now, then when they have people begging.

My website has disapeared from all google queries except the ones that contains it´s own website name
Hi, My website URL is: www.nixiweb.com Before June of 2013 my website was always shown at first or second place at google when searching for "hosting gratis". After June of 2013 my website has disappeared from all searches, it only appears when I search for the site name, eg: "nixiweb" or “www.nixiweb.com” At webmaster tools, the search queries table only shows queries related to my website name (eg: "nixiweb" or “xixiweb”), and none related to any other keyword. Can anybody help me understanding which is the problem with my site? Thanks

Getting Started with Link-Building (Advice, Please)
Hi forum, my company has done almost ZERO link building, and most of the traffic we receive to our site is for our branded search terms (people searching for our company name). Our content and on-page SEO is pretty solid, but how would you suggest getting started in link building? We've dabbled in comment marketing, but almost all of these were unfollowed links. We already do PR and submit it to prweb.com. We have submitted to quite a few online directories and are currently working our way through relevant directories provided by SEOMoz. We do not want to pay for links, and we want to do all of this in house. We are committed to putting the time in to get high quality links by hand. Does anyone have any advice? A "Beginner's Guide to Link-Building" would be excellent. The specific site we are working on is http://www.consumerbase.com/index.html if that is of any use. Thanks!

Website architecture and sitewide link
Hello, I was reading this article about website architecture http://www.seomoz.org/blog/site-architecture-for-seo and I have a question about site wide link... I don't think site wide link are good if you want your homepage to have the most " juice " can someone confirm that to me. What I mean by site wide link is let's say I have a page about golf in califorina and I create a link to another page of my website which is about golf in florida that a good practicee to do that or not ? I just used this calculator http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank_calculator.php and and if I do site wide links the juice doesn't go to my most important page ( the homepage ) which is the one I currently want to have the most juice. However, I noticed that website like amazon do site wide link let's say you are looking at a book and they have lots of links for other books or categories and they still rank very well for the word "textbooks" so I am kind of lost and don't understand why they still rank even though to me their juice goes away by doing site wide links to other books or categories ( even though it is related ) Can someone tell me more about site wide links are they good , bad etc... and is this calculator I use right or wrong ? Thank you

Do nofollow links affect link profile?
I've read that it's good to keep a natural link profile. Some naked links, some links going to our company name, some with anchor text, etc. Do nofollow links affect this link profile, or is it only followed links that are taken into account?

Has anyone found a way to get site links in the SERPs?
I am wanting to get some site links in the serps to increase the size of my "space", has anyone found a way of getting them? I know google says that its automatic and only generated if they feel it would benifit browsers but there must be a rule of thumb to follow. I was thinking down the line of a tight catagorical system that is implimented throughout the site that is clearly related to the content (how it should be I guess)... Any comments, suggestions welcome
