Having two blogs or one?
-
Wordpress.com and Blogspot.com both have high page authority.
Naturally i want to have a blog that talks about my website.
And the aim is to create back links to my website.Q: So do I create two blogs and separate my content or should i concentrate on a single blog? Which is better for getting SEO backlink juice?

I agree with Hutch42 and RangeMarketing. In most cases, the best practice for SEO is to create a self-hosted blog under the same domain as your main business website, if applicable. There's no reason to create more than one website (or blog) to achieve the same purpose. It dilutes your link equity (juice).
Creating a separate blog for the purpose of creating a bunch of links back to your website could be seen as spammy and cause more harm than good. There are much more effective ways to get links to your website with good quality content and digital PR.

We agree with Hutch42.
You'll get the most out of your blog if you set it up as: www.domain.com/blog
Happy blogging!

While they as a whole have high page authority, when you create a sub domain blog on them, it does not get the same. You should worry about creating good content on your site instead of making free blogs to put content onto to then push to your site. Your best bet would be to set up a blog onto your website so that you can have new, relevant content being consistently added to your site.

Many links from one source
Have recently noticed a big drop in rankings. up to 50% for some key pages. Trying to find out why. in webmastertools I have a total of 13000 links. I have noticed that 4000 come from one site to my home page. Keyword is not related and I have never heard of the site. Not sure if I should just ignore these links or use disallow. If I disallow won't a sudden reduction in my links look strange to google? I have read in this forum that negative SEO is very rare but I have no idea where these links have come from or what they are for.

Why aren't my blog links counting?
In our blog posts, we frequently include links to our product pages on our official site. However, the blog root domain is not showing up on Open Site Explorer for any of these product pages. In other words, why isn't Google counting our blog as a unique root domain? If it helps, here is the link to the blog: http://jampaper.wordpress.com/ Thanks for your help!

Blogs
I am thinking of starting a couple off site blogs for myself. 1 I might share some client information and link building and the other would be for me to rant. I was thinking about doing a wordpress or blogger blog, someone recommended Tumblr. Anyone have any suggestions?

Guest Blogging - Build a relationship with a few blogs and post only there or post a few on as many good blogs as possible?
I'm curious which strategy is better in the short term and in the long-term? Part of my link building strategy involves contacting bloggers and posting some guest blogs on their sites. Now there are advantages with posting on a few blogs and creating a link between you and the blog readers and the blog owner. It also saves time trying to contact blog owners etc. However would my time be better spent contacting hundreds of blogs and seeing where I can guest blog and then post on as many as possible; in order to have a diverse number of links going back to my website? What do you think is the best option and why?

Why does Open Site Explorer list Twitter and Facebook links for one of my sites and not others
One of my sites has the nofollow backlink listed for Facebook and Twitter while 2 other sites do not. All 3 sites have had accounts for over a year. Does the amount of interactivity with the social media profiles have to do with it? I know it is a nofollow link but I was just curious as those profiles might help with the brand signal etc.
