How much content should you be writting on each page?
-
Hi Samuel Scott
Thank you for your response. I am still having trouble understanding all of this. Are you able to check through our site to see if we have everything in order for the rel=canonical?I went through the guidelines provided by Moz. I will be making some updates to the content so they are more localised. Unfortunately due to our merchant services, we can only accept NZ Currency which is a bummer, it would of been great to advertise USD and AUD on all the relevant sites. I have also updated the countries in google web masters as well.
The only thing I wasn't so sure about is the rel-alternate-hreflang you mentioned, and funny enough I saw that my competitor had this, which caught my attention hence this post, and I can only see that the language tags are the only thing set on our site.
I have talked to my developer about this, and he doesn't understand what needs to be set accordingly.
Thanks for your help.

You should be fine. Here's Google's guide to multiregional and multilingual sites (emphasis mine):
Websites that provide content for different regions and in different languages sometimes create content that is the same or similar but available on different URLs. This is generally not a problem as long as the content is for different users in different countries. While we strongly recommend that you provide unique content for each different group of users, we understand that this might not always be possible. There is generally no need to "hide" the duplicates by disallowing crawling in a robots.txt file or by using a "noindex" robots meta tag. However, if you're providing the same content to the same users on different URLs (for instance, if both
example.de/
andexample.com/de/
show German language content for users in Germany), you should pick a preferred version and redirect (or use the rel=canonical link element) appropriately. In addition, you should follow the guidelines on rel-alternate-hreflang to make sure that the correct language or regional URL is served to searchers.Just make sure that Google "understands" that the different domains are targeting different countries, I'd double-check all the technical factors listed in Moz's guides to international SEO -- International SEO, Hreflang, and CcTLDs. For example, be sure to state in each site's Google Webmaster Tools that it is targeting a specific country.
Good luck! If you run into any issues, feel free to post more questions in the Moz Q&A!

How much duplicate content counts as duplicate content to Google?
Hi everyone! I've had a look through some duplicate content posts and I can't see the answer to this query, so I thought I'd ask in case someone could help. I've been looking at a website that competes with the site that I work on. They have profile pages containing content that has been copied and pasted straight from the suppliers' websites. Their pages have all their own code framing the content, which is diluting the concentration of duplicate copy. How much duplicate content can a page have before it gets penalised or ignored by Google? Any suggestions very gratefully received 🐵

Duplicate Content From Huffington Post Blog
A client who writes blog posts for Huffington Post also wants an identical version of the blog posted to his personal site. Do you think there could be a problem of being punished for duplicate content? Would a better SEO practice be to have the client do an on-site blog just linking to the Huffington Post blog and providing information about it?

Ideas for making a mini-content farm more valuable to end users
I run a mini-content farm so to speak - a nationwide computer repair business. We have screened professionals that are specific to one industry. I was wondering if the SEO community would like to offer ideas on how to make this type of site more interesting to end users. What are some things that could be integrated into the site that are 'location specific' that would be of interest to users. I'd like to be able to offer a list of certified, screen, professionals that is searchable by zip code and town. We are planning on showing the quality control rating, as well as current certifications, and a checkbox showing that they were background checked. Customer testimonials are also in the works. Any other ideas?
