Hi,
I was wondering what is the best practice to redirect all the links juice by redirecting all the pages of your website to a coming soon page.
The coming soon page will point to the domain.com, not to a subfolder.
Should I move the entire website to a subfolder and redirect this folder to the coming soon page?

Hi Olivier,
The question that Matt is answering is quite specific - is a "coming soon" page bad for new domains as Google seems to prioritize new domains. The answer is "no" for this situation.
The situation of your friend is quite different - he has an existing site which is generating some traffic. Unless your "coming soon page" is extremely interesting & rich in content, it will not rank for any keyword - basically you're reducing your site to a one page site, so bounce rate will inevitably be very high.
If you want to proceed, you just have to put up a redirect rule that is redirecting all url's to the index page of your site (which would then be the "coming soon" page).

Hi, first of all thanks for your awnser. My question here is not about if a coming soon page is great for seo... Has you can see on the video attached, a well optimized coming soon page can be a good thing, matt cutt said's it..
Second of all, my friend website is really badly seo optimized but certain page still drive a smaller amount of traffic.
He dosent want to invest time and money on it so he want a well optimized coming soon page seo optimized to start ranking for some keywords temporary till the new site will be ready.

Hi,
Why would you do that for? A coming soon page has no value for visitors, and as a result no value for search engines.
If you're going to create a new site, I would first launch the new site and then redirect the old pages to the new ones.

Express js and SEO?
Hi fellow Mozzers, I have been tasked with providing some SEO recommendations for a website that is to be built using express.js and Angular. I wondered whether anyone has had any experience in such a framework? Do Abbreviations Hurt SEO Results?
We have certain products that we've abbreviated since it's a bit too long. For example, the word Fair Trade Organic is one of our categories and we abbreviate it to FTO. If I put FTO on our meta tag titles and links instead of the actual word, would that provide a weaker result?

International Seo - Canada
Our organization is currently only operating in the USA but will soon be entering the Canadian market. We did a lot of research and decided that for our needs it would be best to use a subfolder for Canada. Do knowledge base plugins on a subdomain have seo benefit?
Hi SEO Moz, We want to use a knowledge base plugin (cheaper & faster than building it ourselves) where we can have Q&As for our website. We want this to help with our SEO by adding in our keyterms that we want to rank for. We've looked into TenderApp & Get Satisfaction which look like good solutions - however, as they're both on a sub-domain do we get any seo benefit from this? When people link to our knowledge base, will this help our website at all - or is the benefit going to go to TenderApp/Get Satisfaction? For instance - Our website URL is http://widget.products.com The KB URL is http://widgetsupport.products.com If the above plugin is not a good solution, is there anything else that is better? Iframes & SEO
I've got a client that wants a site with all content in iFrames. They saw another site they liked & asked if we could do it. Of course we can technically. How big a negative hit would they take with SEO? Is there anything we can do to mitigate it, such as redirects, etc? Thanks for the help!
